Chapter 222
Chapter 222
Li Yang stared at Zhang Bei in horror.
So his boss was finally no longer satisfied with running a zero-fatality Amusement Park?
Zhang Bei’s smile widened. “Remember to come early tomorrow morning. I’ll make sure you all get the full experience!”
Naturally, the crocodiles weren’t the only part of this major update.
The sharks in the diving area, along with some of the animals used at the Ski Resort, had all been replaced with creatures of flesh and blood.
Of course, while they might be made of flesh and blood, they were still technological creations.
For safety reasons, every creature in the amusement park was controlled by a chip.
They didn’t need to eat or relieve themselves.
As long as they were charged regularly, they could continue functioning normally.
Fundamentally, they were no different from mechanical bodies.
But the visitors didn’t know that!
At the thought of the surprise awaiting his visitors, Zhang Bei’s heart swelled with an extraordinary sense of satisfaction.
Late that night, Professor Yao brought Xiao Cuihua home.
The little girl was sensible and obedient, and her voice was adorably soft and sweet.
It was impossible not to like her.
While they were enjoying this cozy domestic bliss, deep in the Amazon Jungle, Heizi gripped an Electromagnetic Cannon, his eyes gleaming coldly.
“Go on. Repeat what you just said.”
Cha Bing shrank back. “The secretary transferred half the clerical staff away from the base. They want you to go back and handle the paperwork.”
Standing atop an off-road vehicle, Heizi looked at the group of mercenaries still struggling on the ground and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
A flash of blue electricity streaked past, and the faint smell of roasted meat drifted through the air.
“We’re going back!”
“Yes, sir!”
Cha Bing scrambled into another off-road vehicle as fast as he could.
“Drive! Once everything’s wrapped up, we’re heading straight to the airport!”
“Huh?”
“No questions. Big Boss wants us to pick up some documents. We can take the opportunity to hide out on the Island for a few days.”
Cha Bing had been among the first group of people Heizi had recruited from back home.
He had practically watched the Demon Court grow from nothing, step by step.
He also knew Heizi’s personality all too well.
Ever since the renowned President Qiu had managed to free himself from his mountain of work, there was nothing he hated more than dealing with paperwork.
After all, lugging an Electromagnetic Cannon around and blowing things up wherever he went was far more enjoyable than sitting in an office chair processing documents.
The last person who had brought him paperwork had since been sent to develop a market in some godforsaken tribe in the middle of nowhere.
Just imagining that miserable existence made Cha Bing’s palms break out in a cold sweat.
In the blink of an eye, it was the next day.
Zhang Bei stretched as he looked over his gathered employees.
“All right, up you go!”
Li Yang shuddered as he stared at the “Stairway to Heaven” before him.
“Boss, as the person in charge of this attraction, I think I should be given access to the emergency passage!”
Li Yang knew the slide had an emergency passage.
After all, whenever his boss went up, he never once came back down on the slide.
Unfortunately, the control button was secured beneath a large lock.
Li Yang had tried countless times, but he had never managed to open it.
“Just enjoy yourself. You’re used to it by now anyway.”
Li Yang looked at his boss and sighed quietly.
It was true that he had gotten used to the slide.
Anyone forced to ride it several times a day would eventually become less afraid, no matter how terrifying it was.
But the things in the pool weren’t mechanical anymore!
Morning sunlight spilled across the earth as Zhang Bei watched his employees board the elevator.
A lounge chair, a folding table, a teapot, and a teacup.
Once all four essentials were in place, Zhang Bei reclined comfortably and began sipping his tea.
By the time the pot was nearly empty, an inflatable tube came hurtling down the slide.
You Bai and the Coaching Team frantically paddled with all their might.
In the crystal-clear pool, two crocodiles were slowly closing in on them.
Zhang Bei also turned his full attention toward them. The whole reason he’d made his employees warm up first thing in the morning was for this moment.
More than anything, he wanted to see how chip-controlled crocodiles differed from real living creatures in their reactions.
Boss Zhang had to get every last detail right for the sake of his visitors’ experience!
You Bai and the others paddled for dear life, only for the inflatable ring to spin wildly in place.
If there had been only one or two people aboard, all paddling in the same direction, the ring really would have been too fast for the crocodiles to catch.
The more people there are, the less united their hearts become-Zhou Shucha.
None of them had trained in dragon boat racing, so it was only natural that a whole group of them couldn’t control where the ring went!
Before long, the two crocodiles rammed the ring and flipped it over, sending everyone tumbling into the pool.
Their athleticism shone through at that moment.
Skiing might have been their sport, but their legs kicked furiously through the water, making them every bit the match of elite swimmers.
Behind them, the two crocodiles stayed hot on their tails, the fangs in their gaping maws clearly visible.
Zhang Bei was extremely pleased with their performance.
Originally, it had still been obvious that these things were mechanical constructs.
Now, no matter how one looked at them, they appeared to be real crocodiles!
Getting all the employees through the attraction took no more than half an hour.
By the time everyone lay sprawled across the beach, Chef Li had already finished making breakfast.
They enjoyed a pleasant breakfast beneath Xiao Cuihua’s curious gaze.
The rest of the morning was remarkably peaceful.
You Bai took on babysitting duty, while Zhang Bei leaned back in a lounge chair and dozed off.
It wasn’t until close to noon that two figures caught his attention.
Qingqing, that Little Dark Girl, was leading a frail-looking girl into the Amusement Park.
Both of them had their phones raised, so they were clearly fellow streamers.
“Boss, long time no see!”
“We saw each other three days ago. That isn’t long.”
The words Qingqing had been about to say lodged in her throat. Why did a perfectly good person have to be born with a mouth?
“Let me introduce you. This is Manman, a competitive-eating streamer!”
Only then did Zhang Bei lift his head and take a proper look at the frail girl.
“You went and made another friend?”
Qingqing’s already dark face darkened another shade.
What did he mean, another friend? Could she be blamed for this?
These days, every last person on her friends list refused to answer her calls.
Some had even blocked her!
All she’d done was bring them around the Amusement Park for a little fun.
How petty!
“Didn’t Qi Qi come with you?”
“Those two shameless lovebirds are meeting the parents today.”
“Then why come at this hour?”
Morning operations were almost over. Even if they wanted to try the attractions, it was already too late.
“Manman wanted to come. She wants to try the amusement park’s lunch.”
Manman nodded. “Qingqing told me the lunch here is quite unusual.”
Oh?
Was that so?
Zhang Bei’s eyes instantly lit up.
“You didn’t tell her?”
A trace of mischief flashed through Qingqing’s eyes.
“Of course not. It’s supposed to be a big surprise!”
Zhang Bei pondered for a moment, then quickly sprang up from his lounge chair.
“You two take a seat. I’ll go see how the lunch preparations are coming along!”
Zhang Bei naturally had to witness such a wonderful opportunity up close.
As for whether he might get beaten up?
Never mind whether he could win the fight.
Qingqing was the one who had brought Manman here, and the cooks were the ones making the food. What did any of that have to do with the owner?
Five minutes later, Zhang Bei walked over alongside a young cook and stopped in front of Qingqing.
“Where are you planning to eat?”
Manman glanced around. “Over by that Pavilion!”
“All right!”
