Chapter 80
Chapter 80
“Aaaah! A Headless Ghost!”
The doctor stopped where he was and let the little girl take off running for her life.
“I was just using my stethoscope to examine her, and then she woke up.”
The doctor explained what had happened in the simplest terms possible.
Zhang Bei watched the little girl run farther and farther away, the stethoscope still draped over her and swinging wildly.
There was still time left, so the glasses would not lose their effect yet.
Which meant that, from the little girl’s perspective, the doctor was most likely a cart-pushing pervert.
And the Headless Ghost she had screamed about was probably Zhang Bei himself.
The doctor reached out, watching the stethoscope that had accompanied him for two months vanish from sight.
“It’s fine. There are new ones in the emergency room.”
The doctor sighed. “I know.”
Ever since the emergency room had been built, it had not been used even once.
Most of the time, the doctor and Professor Yao simply sent tourists straight to the Morgue.
As for the ones who did not faint, they just rested on the benches.
Before anyone realized it, the emergency room had turned into a large storeroom filled with Suxiao Jiuxin Wan.
“Next time something like this happens, maybe don’t traumatize the tourists.”
Even someone with nerves of steel would not be able to handle a cart-pushing pervert chasing them from behind.
The doctor’s eyes filled with resentment. “Boss!”
Was it his fault tourists ran the moment they saw him?
Was it his fault they fainted, woke up, and then fainted again?
Did his boss seriously have no self-awareness at all?
He, Wang Qingshan, was the Amusement Park’s all-purpose toolman!
Without anyone noticing, the Amusement Park welcomed its final batch of tourists for the day.
Zhang Bei rubbed his aching neck and bent over a sheet of white paper, writing and sketching.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the doctor and Professor Yao also received a group of guests.
These people were doctors from Dingyang City Hospital. More precisely, they were emergency doctors.
Thanks to Professor Wei’s efforts on multiple fronts, a certain regulation had taken the lead in being piloted in Dingyang City.
All emergency doctors were required to go out and have fun once a month.
And the people standing before Professor Yao now were the first batch of experimental guinea pigs.
“All right, you’re not at the hospital anymore, so stop being so serious.”
“Why come to an Amusement Park of all places? Isn’t this just wasting time?”
“Exactly. The ER is busy every single day, and now we’re doing team building?”
Professor Yao looked at them and smiled. “It won’t take long. Just enjoy yourselves for once.”
After saying that, he looked at the middle-aged man standing at the front. “Xu Kuan, take them to try the Giant Swing.”
“Yes, teacher!”
The medical profession was extremely regional. Basically, wherever someone went to school determined where they would work afterward.
Professor Yao had been teaching for so many years that most hospitals in Dingyang City now had his students.
Xu Kuan counted as one of the disciples Professor Yao was rather satisfied with, and the two had always kept in touch.
The group soon stood in front of the Giant Swing, just in time to see an employee wheel away a cartful of tourists.
“Oh? Looks pretty exciting.”
“Hahaha, how could it possibly be more exciting than internal bleeding?”
“I think kidney failure is even more exciting.”
Emergency doctors were the busiest doctors in every hospital. Every day, all kinds of patients were sent to operating tables by their hands.
And among those patients, many remained on those tables forever.
Having grown accustomed to life-and-death partings, this group of doctors even joked in a style all their own.
Since they were the last batch of tourists, the group was soon seated in the chairs, allowing the employees to put a layer of protective clothing on them.
Looking at the chairs that did not even have armrests, Xu Kuan did not pay it too much mind.
He adjusted his sitting posture slightly, making his legs a little more comfortable.
Don’t be fooled by the smiles these doctors wore on the surface. It was nothing more than a habit built up over time.
After all, who could still smile after witnessing so many partings of life and death?
It was just that, as emergency doctors, they couldn’t bring their emotions to their patients or their families.
Soon, all the tourists on the Giant Swing were seated, and the ride slowly started up to the sound of music.
Xu Kuan felt the wind blowing against his face. As the Giant Swing kept accelerating, his whole body unknowingly relaxed.
This sort of circular motion could certainly make people dizzy, but at the end of the day, it was only an amusement ride.
None of the doctors were too worried. Even if this little wheel went flying off, the worst it could do was break a few bones.
Before they knew it, five minutes had passed.
The Giant Swing’s first transformation arrived. The outer ring, jokingly nicknamed Transformers by tourists, began to expand.
Xu Kuan tucked his neck in, but his eyes lit up.
This thing could transform?
Worth the trip!
The thought had only just flashed through his mind when a sudden feeling of weightlessness swept over him.
Xu Kuan had no choice but to press himself firmly back into the seat to fight against the ever-rising speed.
But doing that also meant that with every rotation, his eyes could clearly watch the ground and sky flip over each other.
After two rounds, the Giant Swing’s acceleration had reached the required level, and the outer ring suddenly split open.
Freed from its restraints, the Giant Swing shot into the sky at that very moment.
Xu Kuan’s eyes also turned toward the ground, and a wave of dizziness instantly hit him.
Years of medical experience allowed Xu Kuan to quickly confirm one fact.
If he fell from this height, there would be no need for resuscitation. They could send him straight to the crematorium.
As for collecting the body?
This layer of protective gear solved that problem perfectly. The corpse definitely wouldn’t shatter on impact!
After his brain arrived at that answer, Xu Kuan actually calmed down instead.
After so many years in the emergency room, it seemed he had never even managed to start a family.
It also seemed like it had been a long time since he had called his parents back in his hometown.
Images flashed through his mind frame by frame, finally freezing on those faces that had forever remained on the operating table.
He had spent his life snatching people from the hands of King Yan. Now, at last, it was his turn.
But being launched into the sky lasted only an instant. Relying on gravity, the Giant Swing rapidly dropped back down.
Xu Kuan watched as the Giant Swing returned to the track, and he no longer had any other thoughts.
“Holy shit, let me down!”
The other doctors weren’t any better off. Again and again they were sent into the sky, and again and again they felt gravity tearing at them.
Amid countless impulses to go home, they unknowingly began screaming.
When the experience ended, Professor Yao strode over to them.
The staff quickly unfastened the safety belts, and the scene tourists called a cult ceremony unfolded before Professor Yao’s eyes.
Countless tourists knelt on the ground, staring blankly up at the sky.
Right now, Xu Kuan looked even more like a cult leader. His already slightly long hair was now a complete mess.
Tear tracks still clung to his face, yet he wore a satisfied smile.
The doctors who hurried over to greet him were startled by the sight of Xu Kuan.
What happened to him?
Wasn’t the Giant Swing not that bad?
It shouldn’t be scarier than the Roller Coaster, right?
What kind of shock did he suffer?
Holy shit, this guy doesn’t have some kind of mental issue, does he?
As the doctor’s mind ran wild, Professor Yao simply took Xu Kuan’s hand and began checking his pulse.
After sensing that there was nothing wrong with his pulse, he stood up directly.
“All right. He’ll be fine after resting for a bit.”
Hearing Professor Yao’s words, Xu Kuan finally came back to his senses.
The very first thing he said made Zhang Bei, who had just arrived, stop in his tracks.
