Little Lin watched the group scatter with a broad smile on his face.
He had been one of the first teachers Little Cao recruited and had personally witnessed their operation grow from a single tiny room into the two-story building it was today.
Tempted by the shares Little Cao offered him, he had readily agreed to become the company’s legal representative.
“Boss, I’m off to have some fun, then?”
“Go ahead!”
Little Lin headed toward the Drop Tower a short distance away.
Although this was his first visit, he had heard plenty of rumors about the amusement park.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of its visitors, the place had practically become a mecca for urban legends.
There was the claim that if you encountered a corpse in the Underground Maze, you shouldn’t run away immediately.
Another said the safest way to ride the Drop Tower was to choose an auspicious date.
Then there was the most famous legend of all: someone had once passed out from exhaustion at the Ski Resort.
Half of them were genuine strategy posts. The other half were pure legend.
Little Lin had his reasons for choosing the Drop Tower.
Someone had once compiled a ranking of the attractions by fainting rate.
The Drop Tower was dead last. Didn’t that prove it wasn’t scary?
Little Lin soon joined the line for the Drop Tower.
He glanced at his coworkers in the distance, none of whom had realized the dangers lurking in the amusement park, and a smile crept across his face.
Did none of you do your homework beforehand?
That’s not a good habit for teachers!
Before long, it was Little Lin’s turn. He calmly sat down and let the staff fasten his safety harness.
As music began to play, the Drop Tower slowly started moving.
At a height of thirty meters, it bobbed gently up and down.
Little Lin stretched as the breeze brushed across his face.
He had to admit, the visitors at this amusement park really did have nerves of steel!
Not a single person had screamed so far!
As his thoughts wandered, Little Lin began calculating his salary for the month.
He helped Little Cao manage the entire teaching staff and taught piano lessons himself.
His monthly salary and bonuses added up to a considerable sum.
Besides, the cost of living in Dingyang City wasn’t particularly high. He had already saved quite a bit over the past few months.
Suddenly, a violent gust of wind blasted straight into his open mouth.
“Aah! Urk! Hic!”
After making three noises in quick succession, Little Lin finally recovered.
Without him noticing, the Drop Tower had climbed to ninety meters.
The moment he looked down at the ground, his legs went weak.

When the ninety-meter Drop Tower returned to its highest point, the seat beneath him slowly retracted into the mechanism.
Little Lin clutched the safety rope with both hands and even wrapped his legs tightly around it.
He strained upward with all his might. From a distance, he looked exactly like a maggot desperately trying to wriggle its way out of a hopeless situation.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t a professional firefighter, nor had he ever received rope-climbing training.
All his efforts came to nothing the instant Human Yo-Yo activated.
As gravity dragged him downward, Little Lin’s adrenaline shot off the charts.
Right now, all he wanted was to grab the author of that post and demand an answer.
You call this not scary?!
The joys of Human Yo-Yo were not meant for Little Lin.
After just one round trip, the sheer shock knocked him unconscious.
Standing in the distance, Little Cao glanced at the doctor bustling around.
“Tch!”
Little Lin woke up ten minutes later. When he looked around, he found his coworkers laid out in neat rows throughout the Morgue.
The wind brushed against his face as an emerald-green bird swept across the sky.
Little Lin looked at the scene before him and finally let out a long sigh.
“I just asked. They said the Space Roam over there is a sightseeing simulator!”
“Wow, let’s go get in line!”
A young couple hurried past him.
Little Lin took note of their conversation.
Another ten minutes passed before Little Lin finally dragged his shaky legs over to his coworkers.
“You guys didn’t go on the ride?”
“Brother Lin, I think we’ll pass!”
The five girls in front of him were all English teachers for children.
They were quite skilled, but their personalities were as childlike as their students’, and their classes had always sold well.
So why hadn’t they ended up in the Morgue?
That story began with the large group that had split up earlier.
The Giant Swing could only hold so many riders at a time, and just half the group had been lucky enough to make it into the first round.
The five of them had been assigned to the second.
Sometimes, however, misfortune was a blessing in disguise.
After witnessing the others’ miserable fate firsthand, they had wisely chosen to retreat.
They were here to enjoy the attractions, not become the attractions’ playthings!
Little Lin glanced at the group who still hadn’t regained consciousness. “I know there’s a sightseeing attraction over there. Want to go together?”
“Sightseeing?”
“It’s called Space Roam. I guess it’s for looking at outer space.”
The girls sitting on the bench hesitated for a moment, but in the end, their trust in their supervisor won out, and they nodded.
They split into groups and followed the line into an unoccupied sphere.
As Little Lin looked at them, he suddenly remembered something.
“By the way, you still haven’t paid the fine for being late last time, have you?”
“Do you really have to bring that up now?”
“Exactly! We were only five minutes late!”
Little Lin’s face darkened. “Pay it as soon as we get back this afternoon, or I’ll dock it from your bonuses during the end-of-month accounting.”
“Fine!”
Before long, a mechanical hum sounded, and a case containing several pairs of goggles emerged from the table.
They fastened the goggles over their faces, and their fields of vision abruptly changed.
Gravity vanished a moment later, sending all of them floating into the air.
The sight of the blue Earth left them utterly awestruck.
“It’s so beautiful!”
“Wow! Turn around, everyone!”
Hearing the shout, Little Lin turned his head.
The Sun’s enormous sphere of flame made them forget everything else for a moment.
A gentle force pushed against them, sending them drifting deeper into the universe.
Little Lin was still immersed in the scenery when a rather discordant voice reached his ears.
“What’s this thing?”
“Huh?”
Before Little Lin could turn around, the force behind him abruptly intensified.
His entire body became a shooting star, hurtling into the depths of space.
In his field of vision, the meteor shower that had seemed to drift along at a snail’s pace suddenly came barreling toward him like cars speeding down a highway.
Little Lin used every ounce of strength he had to dodge one meteor.
Before he could breathe a sigh of relief, a diamond meteorite composed of carbon atoms came hurtling straight at him.
“Holy crap! No! Turn! Turn!”
“Bang!”
He crashed headlong into the diamond, and a faint vibration traveled across his face.
By the time he came to his senses, he had reappeared beside the teachers.
Through their spacesuit visors, however, three pairs of eyes gleamed dangerously.
“Brother Lin, has my bonus been docked?”
The gentle voice sent a shiver down Little Lin’s spine.
“Wait, let me explain!”
“You can explain it in hell, Brother Lin!”
As soon as she finished speaking, the rope behind him was yanked once more.
