Chapter 202
Chapter 202
Little Cao tore through Amusement Park in a frantic escape, with Cao Jia hot on his heels and showing no signs of stopping.
But don’t forget-Little Cao was an honors graduate in the fine art of screwing over his dad. Would he really have failed to anticipate how Cao Jia would react once his plan was exposed?
Once Little Fatty saw that his boss had run far enough away, he quickly pulled out his phone.
“This is the Plan A the boss mentioned, right?”
The little girl also took out a phone and nodded. “Right. I’ll contact the teacher.”
As soon as his call connected, Little Fatty hurriedly pressed the phone to his ear.
“Auntie, it’s Little Fatty!”
“Oh, it’s you. Aren’t you kids supposed to be at tutoring class?”
“Our teacher brought us to Amusement Park today and said we had to write a report afterward. But for some reason, Uncle suddenly started trying to hit Little Cao.”
Little Fatty spoke rapidly, explaining the entire situation from beginning to end.
The other end of the line fell silent for a moment.
“I understand.”
After the call disconnected, Little Fatty looked over at the little girl. She had also gotten through.
“Teacher Lin, the boss has activated Plan A.”
“All right. I’ll be there immediately!”
The Cao father and son continued their chase for a full ten minutes.
“Y-you little brat… Hah… Stop right there!”
“I-I’m not stupid… Hah… If you’ve got the guts… stop chasing me!”
Cao Jia was a middle-aged man, and his body had steadily grown stouter with age.
Little Cao might have been young, but he was still only a child.
After running this far, neither of them could maintain their earlier speed.
Gritting his teeth, Cao Jia stayed close behind Little Cao.
You little brat. Your old man has eaten more salt than you’ve eaten rice.
Let’s see how much longer you can keep this up!
Little Cao remained perfectly calm, continuing to evade his father’s pursuit.
The tutoring center wasn’t far from Amusement Park. It was only a fifteen-minute drive.
As long as the teacher could hold him off, Mom would definitely arrive between the twentieth and twenty-fifth minute!
One was convinced he could never lose a contest of endurance. The other was waiting for the contingency plan he had arranged.
And so, the Cao father and son staged an epic chase.
Seventeen minutes after the call, a figure stepped in front of Cao Jia and blocked his path.
“I’m not too late, am I?”
“No. Where are the others?”
“They’re parking the cars. They’ll be here any second!”
Little Cao nodded, then plopped down on the ground and rubbed his aching legs.
His own dad sure wasn’t pulling any punches!
Cao Jia frowned at the man now protecting his son. “Who are you?”
The man smiled. “My surname is Lin. I’m the children’s piano teacher.”
As soon as he finished speaking, voices rang out one after another.
“Boss!”
“Boss, we’re here!”
“Boss, are you hurt?”
Cao Jia’s mouth fell open as he stared at Little Cao, who was now surrounded by a crowd.
Did I hear that wrong?
Boss?
What the hell happened?
What could possibly make an entire group of grown adults shamelessly call a child “Boss”?
The group helped Little Cao to his feet and formed a tight protective circle around him.
Wasn’t it embarrassing to call an elementary school kid their boss?
At first, sure. But how could they resist when he paid them so much?
On the surface, it looked like Little Cao had merely started a tutoring center on the side.
In reality, he had already rented a two-story office building.
Teacher Lin was registered as its legal representative, and the center employed over twenty teachers, offering seven regular subjects and five enrichment programs.
More than two hundred children came for lessons every week.
Even more astonishingly, many of those children had earned the money for their enrichment classes themselves.
Little Cao had long since learned how to keep money circulating and how herd mentality worked.
That was why, early on, Little Cao had organized an extracurricular activity exclusively for children.
Some of the first students to sign up had managed to win over the girls they liked with a few simple piano pieces.
Naturally, that attracted even more people who wanted to learn.
No money?
Easy. The Amusement Park Branch was short on staff, they needed people to hand out flyers, and they were even short-handed when it came to copying notes.
As long as someone was willing to put in the work, they could earn points. Ten points could be exchanged for one lesson.
Alternatively, they could recruit students for the courses. Bringing in five people would also earn them ten points.
Little Cao’s education business empire was already beginning to take shape.
Back at the Amusement Park, Cao Jia gritted his teeth as he stared at the smug Little Cao.
“Get out of my way! That’s my son!”
Little Lin opened his mouth, but his body didn’t budge an inch.
Like I don’t know he’s your son!
If I let you through, there goes my bonus for this month!
After taking a short break, Little Cao checked the time.
“My mom will be here soon. Everyone knows what to do, right?”
“Don’t worry, Boss!”
“Leave it to us!”
The moment the Head of the Cao Family appeared at the Amusement Park, the battle officially came to an end.
Cao Jia-utterly defeated!
The Head of the Cao Family wore an apologetic expression. “I’m so sorry to have troubled you all!”
Little Lin was all smiles. “It’s nothing. Growing up in a violent environment isn’t good for a child’s development.”
“Does he take his studies seriously?”
Little Lin rubbed Little Cao’s head. “I like this kid a lot. His grades are excellent now, and he’s doing well at piano too!”
(Holy crap, rubbing the boss’s head feels amazing!)
A flash of delighted surprise appeared in the Head of the Cao Family’s eyes. “Really?”
“Yes. Give him another six months and he’ll be ready to take his piano grade exam.”
“Thank you so much!”
“Not at all!”
Cao Jia stood to one side, watching this crowd put on their masterful performance.
Hey, hey, hey! That wasn’t how you were acting just now!
Weren’t you calling him “Boss” every other sentence?
How did he suddenly become just “the kid”?
Talk about double standards!
The Head of the Cao Family carefully asked about Little Cao’s grades, then grabbed her husband by the ear with a satisfied smile.
“We’ll be going, then. Please take good care of my son!”
“Take care!”
The smile never left Teacher Lin’s face as he watched the Head of the Cao Family leave.
Cao Jia sat in the back seat of the car, staring at his wife as she focused on driving. His eyes were filled with despair.
I’m so dead!
But compared to the beating he was about to receive, Cao Jia was even more intrigued by that group of people.
That brat had probably been hiding something big from him!
He opened a chat on his phone.
Cao Jia might look pathetic now, but before he got married, he’d been somebody important.
Shangshan Ruoshui: [Come out. I need a favor!]
Third Brother: [What’s up, Big Bro?]
Shangshan Ruoshui: [Help me investigate someone.]
Third Brother: [Who?]
Shangshan Ruoshui: [My son.]
Third Brother: [???]
If you’re sick, get yourself treated. What kind of father has his own son investigated?
Cao Jia also realized his request sounded rather questionable, so he hurriedly added another message.
Shangshan Ruoshui: [That brat’s been hiding whatever he’s up to from me. Look into it. Start with a teacher named Lin.]
Third Brother: [Fine. Business has been slow lately anyway, so I might as well humor you.]
Cao Jia put down his phone and discreetly shifted the two pieces of stiff cardboard hidden inside his trouser legs over his knees.
Back inside the Amusement Park, Little Cao looked around at the people beside him.
“The Amusement Park Branch will continue working. The Education Department can have a team-building outing, and the Amusement Group can go have fun. Get Little Lin to reimburse your expenses afterward.”
“Thank you, Boss!”
“Boss, you’re too generous!”
