Chapter 120
Chapter 120
After that, however, Wendell was no longer in the mood to keep chatting with Little Cao.
A tremendous force struck in an instant, launching the two of them into the sky almost in the blink of an eye.
Feeling their speed climbing faster and faster, Wendell’s eyes filled with excitement.
Awesome!
Soon, the parachute opened. Wendell tucked in his neck and watched the ground grow larger and larger in his field of vision.
“The ring, the ring… found it!”
Wendell gave it a gentle pull, and the device holding Little Cao against his chest instantly detached.
Watching the child drift away from him, Wendell’s eyes went wide.
Was the kid going to be all right?
A trace of worry rose in his heart, but then he sank right back into the thrill of skydiving.
This was fun. When would an ordinary person ever get the chance to experience skydiving?
And yet this amusement park had actually made that joy possible!
The parachute soon returned to the ground. Little Cao skillfully unfastened his safety belt and came over to Wendell.
“Are you okay?”
Wendell rubbed his weak knees, then stared wide-eyed at Little Cao’s steady steps.
Was this kid for real?
This was skydiving!
It might not have been from that high up, but it was still skydiving!
How was he not affected at all?
What the hell had I been worried about?
“Would you help translate for me? I’m willing to pay. I’ll give you ten an hour!”
“RMB?”
“Dollars!”
“Deal!”
Little Cao only thought it over briefly before agreeing.
“I want to ride that!”
Little Cao followed the direction of his finger.
The violently swinging Giant Swing appeared before them.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m very sure!”
Little Cao offered a silent blessing in his heart. “I’ll take you there. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me!”
“Great!”
The adult and the child walked toward the Giant Swing. Along the way, Little Cao explained the amusement park’s facilities.
They counted as among the first batch of visitors, so Wendell’s turn came very quickly.
“Kids aren’t allowed on this attraction, so I won’t be going up with you!”
Wendell nodded. “What’s that outfit for?”
Little Cao looked at the protective suits being handed out and fell silent for a moment. “Makes it easier to collect the body.”
“What?”
“Just think of it as windproof gear.”
“Thanks. Then I’m going!”
Little Cao stood off to the side and watched as Wendell put on the protective suit and sat down in the chair.
If someone had gotten close enough to listen carefully, they would have heard Little Cao muttering under his breath.
“Even if he passes out, I’m still charging him. If he blacks out ten minutes per ride on average, plus rest and queue time…”
Wendell had no idea that the Little Translator he had hired on the spot was already calculating the damage to his wallet.
As the Giant Swing started up, his whole body gradually filled with joy.
The United States actually had quite a few Amusement Park venues too. The most famous ones were probably Universal Studios and Disney.
It was just that most of the attractions at those two places were meant for children.
There were pitifully few adult-oriented rides, and you still had to endure some childish clown handing you a balloon.
Wendell’s thoughts did not last long. The Giant Swing’s acceleration gradually reached the required threshold.
The wheels on the outer ring slowly began to expand.
“There’s a surprise too?”
The moment the words left his mouth, the huge outer wheel split apart, and the Giant Swing carried its passengers rocketing into the sky.
“Oh my God!”
Hearing that, Little Cao looked up and sighed. “How pitiful. They don’t know how to say ‘holy shit.'”
Wendell only felt his hands and feet turn ice-cold, as if his blood were about to freeze solid.
At that moment, he finally understood what the Little Translator had meant.
Makes collecting the bodies easier!
Tears streamed out of Wendell’s eyes before he even realized it, and his brain frantically screamed signals of despair.
Gradually, Wendell’s gaze went calm.
This ancient nation had given him far too many surprises. Those black-and-white dumplings melted his heart every single moment.
At night here, you could even go out to dinner with friends, sing karaoke, and drink.
If he ever got another chance, he absolutely had to find a way to stay in this country.
The Giant Swing carried its passengers back onto the great wheel.
Wendell’s drifting soul also returned to his body.
Before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, that feeling of acceleration came again, and he was launched back into the sky.
After such a massive shock, Wendell finally shut his eyes and passed out.
The man sitting beside him withdrew his gaze.
Tch. Weren’t foreigners supposed to love courting death?
He passed out after going up only twice?
Where did all that courage for extreme sports go?
Soon, the Giant Swing experience ended. Professor Yao, who had been waiting for ages, came charging over with his cart.
Satisfying!
At some point, Professor Yao had developed this terrible habit.
If he went one day without seeing the spectacle of this cult-like ceremony, his whole body felt uncomfortable.
The more he watched, the more addictive it became. Professor Yao stared for several full seconds before finally comparing the heart-rate charts and starting his checks.
He checked everyone one by one until he reached Wendell. After confirming there was nothing wrong with him, Professor Yao sank into deep thought.
There were foreigners at the amusement park now?
Would there come a day when, kneeling neatly in front of him, there would be an entire row of blond-haired, blue-eyed foreigners?
Just thinking about that scene made Professor Yao’s eyes sparkle.
Little Cao followed the pushcart all the way into the Morgue.
Looking at Wendell lying on the wooden board, he silently went, “Tch.”
Bored, Little Cao looked toward the Roller Coaster in the distance and began calculating Wendell’s wallet.
Only after more than ten minutes did Wendell finally open his eyes.
“Whew… That was terrifying!”
Little Cao wore an innocent smile. “Want to rest a bit, then keep playing?”
Wendell tried to stand, but his weak legs gave him no chance at all.
“Okay. I’ll rest for a while!”
During the break, Wendell kept asking Little Cao about the amusement park’s attractions.
When he heard there was also a Ski Resort, he could hardly wait.
That was something he knew!
Even if he was only an amateur, his skills were right there for all to see!
He could pull off some fairly difficult moves with ease!
Little Cao looked toward the Roller Coaster not far away. “That one has a pretty long experience time. You can ride that first, then go to the Ski Resort. By the time you’re done, it should be about time for lunch!”
Wendell thought it over carefully and felt that made a lot of sense.
“Then I’ll listen to you!”
A smile flashed through Little Cao’s eyes as he waited for Wendell to recover his strength.
Before long, Little Cao translated the staff’s words for Wendell and led him all the way onto the Roller Coaster.
“Kids aren’t allowed on this attraction either. I’ll wait for you down below!”
Wendell smiled. “All right. Once I get off, we’ll go to the Ski Resort!”
Little Cao slipped back out past the railing, and the Roller Coaster, loaded full of passengers, began to move.
To make sure Wendell experienced the joy of the Amusement Park, Little Cao had even chosen a front-row seat for him.
Feeling the Roller Coaster’s speed along the track, Wendell’s nervous mood gradually relaxed.
He had even started looking forward to lunch.
After all, Little Translator had told him the Amusement Park provided lunch, and the prices were not expensive!
