Chapter 66

The group shared a few brief complaints before following the crowd toward the Morgue.

Chen Chichi frowned as he looked at the queues already forming around them.

“There definitely won’t be enough time if we all stick together. How about we split into pairs?”

“Agreed!”

“I’m in!”

Brother Chao glanced at the nearby cameraman. “I am not pairing up with Baby. I’m afraid she’ll scream my eardrums into pieces!”

Baby’s face darkened instantly. She rushed forward and twisted Brother Chao’s ear.

“Let’s go! We’re heading to the Roller Coaster!”

The others burst into laughter at Brother Chao’s miserable state.

Ultimately, Chen Chichi and Big Black Bull lined up together in front of the Drop Tower.

Relying on his 20/20 vision, Chen Chichi stared at a white piece of paper stuck to the very top of the Drop Tower.

“That should be the clue, right?”

Big Black Bull took a look and nodded. “Most likely. We’ll have to look closely when we go up.”

The staff had coordinated with the other tourists beforehand, so the two were able to take their seats easily without being disturbed.

Sitting next to Chen Chichi was a young man who looked at the two relaxed celebrities with hesitation.

He finally spoke up just as the Drop Tower was about to start.

“Chichi, you guys should probably find someone to help you.”

Big Black Bull waved him off. “No need. How high can this thing really be?”

Seeing how overconfident they were, the young man eventually gave up on trying to persuade them.

In an amusement park, you never truly know the meaning of despair until you experience it for yourself.

Soon, the Drop Tower slowly began its ascent. The two tilted their heads back, staring intently at the white paper above them.

It went smoothly at first. During the first lift, Chen Chichi managed to see the first two words.

Location!

“Big Black Bull, our clue here is a location!”

“Got it! I’m trying!”

Big Black Bull was slightly nearsighted, and the white paper fluttering in the wind was incredibly difficult to read.

Five minutes flew by, and Chen Chichi had barely managed to piece together the first few words.

Just as he was preparing to finish the task in one go, the Drop Tower suddenly changed its rhythm.

Chen Chichi watched helplessly as the white paper above him rose higher, moving further out of his line of sight.

Big Black Bull’s face turned pale. “This thing has hidden mechanisms?”

Chen Chichi hadn’t expected this change either and hurriedly gripped the safety straps on his seat.

“It’s fine, it doesn’t look that much higher!”

Chen Chichi could only comfort himself this way; after all, the mission still had to be completed.

The second stage of the Drop Tower wasn’t just a change in height-the time it took to cover thirty meters was now the same as it took for sixty.

For three whole minutes, the two of them couldn’t make out a single word.

Chen Chichi had just barely managed to adjust when, unexpectedly, the Drop Tower changed again.

The height increased once more, causing Chen Chichi’s face to turn ghostly pale.

“Program Team, you bastards! You can’t play people like this!”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Chen Chichi’s grip on the seat suddenly felt loose, and his entire body felt suspended in mid-air.

As a classic attraction of the Amusement Park, the Human Yo-Yo finally bared its fangs.

At this point, never mind looking for clues-his brain was filled with nothing but pure terror.

The scene shifted to the Roller Coaster. The first ten minutes of the track were relatively smooth, but Brother Chao was getting a massive headache from Baby’s screaming.

“Stop screaming! I can’t even concentrate!”

The white paper for the Roller Coaster was on the side of the car’s body. One had to lean over and look down to see it clearly.

It took Brother Chao a full ten minutes just to make out a few words.

He still couldn’t see the most critical part at the very end.
His gaze shifted to the slope ahead. “There’s an incline coming up, stop shouting for a second!”

The Roller Coaster’s ascent was slow, and Brother Chao planned to use this opportunity to complete the task in one go.

Director Shi watched the footage being sent back to the Monitor, a wide smile playing on his lips.

Coming to the amusement park this time had definitely been the right move.

In past confrontations between the Program Team and the cast, the Program Team usually came out on the losing end.

After all, they had to ensure the show was entertaining while also making the tasks difficult. These two goals were naturally in conflict.

The current task was simple: reach the next location using a specific method within a set time limit.

However, Boss Zhang’s attractions were simply too agonizing.

Yesterday, a few cameramen had tested it out and ended up lying on the ground for a full half-hour.

Brother Chao kept his head down, staring intently at the white paper. Time: Arrive at Yali before 3:00 PM…

Before he could read the rest, he caught a glimpse of the ground out of the corner of his eye, and his entire body shuddered instantly.

“Holy crap, it’s so high!”

The height of over a hundred meters truly shocked Brother Chao. Even knowing he was filming a show, he couldn’t help but let out a curse.

The Roller Coaster had reached its peak. Looking down from there, he felt a wave of vertigo.

Brother Chao could only pull his head back for the moment. It was obvious that a plunge was coming next.

“Aaahhhhh!”

Baby’s screams rang out in his ears again, making Brother Chao roll his eyes.

“What is it now?”

“It’s falling apart! It’s shaking!”

Baby was so frightened by the sudden movement that she was becoming incoherent.

Only then did Brother Chao notice that the entire Roller Coaster had begun to wobble slightly on the tracks.

Before he could react, the Roller Coaster dove downward.

With his excellent eyesight, Brother Chao spotted something wrong at that exact moment.

Why was the track ahead disconnected?

Was there an accident?

Dammit, is the Program Team trying to kill us?

Empress, you’re not allowed to remarry!

Just as that thought crossed his mind, the Roller Coaster reached the break in the tracks.

“Program Team, help!”

Chen Chichi rubbed his weak legs as he leaned back in his chair.

He clicked his tongue as he listened to the screams coming from overhead.

“It’s hard to imagine what they’re going through.”

Big Black Bull leaned limply to the side. “Instead of worrying about them, you should worry about what we’re going to do about that Giant Swing.”

Chen Chichi’s face instantly went dark.

He had originally thought that with an amusement park as the theme, this task might be a bit more relaxed.

But who would have thought that the Program Team wouldn’t act like decent human beings at all!

Were these attractions really meant for them to complete a task?

They were trying to take their lives for a few measly rewards!

The half-hour on the Roller Coaster soon came to an end. A doctor with a serious expression walked up, carrying a medical kit.

He popped a few Suxiao Jiuxin Wan pills into the tourists’ mouths before coming over to Brother Chao and Baby.

“Are you two alright?”

Baby shook her head, her eyes rimmed with red.

Even after enduring such devastation, Baby remained strong and hadn’t fainted.

Brother Chao, however, wasn’t so lucky. Between the psychological trauma and the assault of Baby’s soprano screams, he had passed out five minutes before the ride ended.

The doctor performed a careful examination. “He’s fine. There’s just some slight capillary bleeding in his eardrums.”

Chen Chichi, who had just rushed over, happened to overhear this. His gaze toward Baby instantly turned to one of pure terror.

Just what kind of high-pitched scream could make someone’s ears bleed?

He looked at the unconscious Brother Chao, his eyes filled with sympathy.
