Chapter 252
Chapter 252
Nangong Guo didn’t know much about it, but Nangong Zhi knew exactly how terrifying this Ejection Chair was.
For an attraction designed by that heartless boss, if it had the word “Destiny” in its name, then it would most certainly teach you just how cruel destiny could be.
As the first visitors of the afternoon gradually filled the seats, the Ejection Chair’s music began to play.
The brothers exchanged a glance. In the blink of an eye, they vanished from where they had been.
Nangong Guo’s mind went utterly blank.
Your granny’s banana, watermelon, and pineapple peel! Why was this thing so fast?
Having visited the amusement park only twice, Nangong Guo simply couldn’t understand.
Why would anyone design something like this?
Was this fucking thing meant for human beings?
The Ejection Chair hurtled along its track with Nangong Guo aboard.
With his brother no longer beside him, he began to scream at the top of his lungs.
“Slow down! Too fast! No, fuck, it’s really too fast!”
Traveling as fast as a high-speed train, Nangong Guo was already losing the ability to speak coherently.
Drool and snot mingled on his face.
But his determination kept him clinging to his last scrap of reason, refusing to pass out.
As long as he stayed conscious, he still had a chance to photograph his brother.
As long as he could make it a two-all tie, his image would remain intact!
Human beings truly were creatures of enormous potential.
So long as the body could take it, attacks on the mind could actually make a person gradually stronger.
Every speed setting on the Destiny Ejection Chair had been rigorously designed.
Several hundred kilometers per hour might sound frightening, but in fact, it all remained below the limits of human endurance.
Zhang Bei had once estimated that anyone who could ride the Ejection Chair ten times in a row without passing out would be able to withstand any torture in the world.
Forget Professor Yang’s electric shocks; even the ten great tortures of the Qing dynasty wouldn’t make them so much as frown.
In contrast to his elder brother’s perseverance, Nangong Zhi nearly burst into tears.
He had visited the Amusement Park so many times, but had never once dared to try this thing.
Who would have thought he would end up on it on such a bright, pleasant day?
There was no denying that these two were brothers through and through.
Once out of each other’s sight, both began screaming at the tops of their lungs.
“Slower! Slow down! I can’t take it!”
Unrestrained screams rang across the sky.
Harbor fear in your heart, and destiny will make a plaything of you in the end. – Zhou Charen
How could an outsider possibly understand Nangong Zhi’s terror of this attraction?
After just three minutes, he passed out cold.
Though it was the elder brother Nangong Guo’s first time on the ride, his sheer determination kept him going all the way to the end.
Professor Yao came along whistling, pushing his cart as he checked the riders.
He fell silent for a moment at the sight of Nangong Guo sitting on the ground.
“Are you… all right?”
Nangong Guo nodded mechanically, his eyes searching his surroundings.
Professor Yao checked the heart rate on his tablet, then looked back at Nangong Guo, inexplicably nervous.
Was this some sort of supernatural event?
His heart rate was already more than twice the limit. By rights, he should have passed out long ago.
This had nothing to do with willpower. It was the body’s instinctive response to protect itself.
Yet here was Nangong Guo, eyes wide open and utterly alert.
Anyone who knew the full story would have had to offer a word of praise: a true warrior indeed.
After repeatedly scanning the area, Nangong Guo finally spotted his little brother.
Dragging his three shaky legs, he crawled over to his own flesh and blood on hands and feet.
With great difficulty, he took out his phone and pressed the shutter.
And just like that, a “beautiful” photograph was saved.
Having held on through sheer human will until now, Nangong Guo could finally resist the dizziness in his head no longer.
He lay down on the ground with a satisfied smile.
The battle of the Nangong brothers ended in a two-all draw!
Professor Yao followed with his cart, his eyes gleaming.
Perhaps… it might be possible… to do a little research into human willpower!
He would leave the data collection to Doctor Wang!
Too busy during work hours?
Well, wasn’t there still time after work?
He was only in his thirties, after all. Still young!
The doctor, currently cursing Boss Zhang over at the water park, had no idea that what little free time he had left was about to be squeezed out of him by a certain unscrupulous old man.
Two days flew by.
Zhang Bei emerged from the airport with two employees and one Little Dark Girl.
Inwardly, he was still complaining about how slow commercial flights were these days.
He also took a moment to look forward to his own plane.
A brand-new aerospace engine, and a body built entirely from a new alloy.
It was expected to circle the Earth in just ten hours.
As for the flight routes, Meng Chuan would have to put in some effort. Hadn’t attending meetings always been his job anyway?
The four boarded the coach sent to pick them up and set off happily for Dinishi Fog City Branch.
Meanwhile, in a hotel, Luo Yi had just climbed out of bed when someone reported that Boss Zhang was already on his way to Disney. (For the record: Luo Yi was the manager of Future Amusement Park.)
He immediately quickened his washing and grooming routine.
Disney might have been the only park inviting Boss Zhang this time.
In reality, though, openly or otherwise, managers from at least thirty parks around the country had come.
Apart from Luo Yi, this was only the second person who had dared invite that beast to their own park.
Upon hearing the news, Luo Yi had gathered a large group and brought them to Fog City.
First, he wanted to see whether one of the country’s top Amusement Parks could put that beast in his place.
Second, he had been laughed at for far too long. He needed a good brother to share the burden.
Zhang Bei had barely stepped off the coach when more than a dozen bald or partially bald men appeared before him.
“Hello, Boss Zhang. I’m the owner of Happy Valley!”
“Hello, Boss Zhang. I’m the manager of Dinosaur Park!”
“Hello, Boss Zhang. Owner of Eastern Mythology!”
…
Zhang Bei stared at the crowd before him in a long silence.
“Have you all got nothing to do?”
Luo Yi, who had just stepped out of his vehicle, nearly laughed aloud.
Exactly. This was the Boss Zhang he knew.
Most people truly couldn’t cope with that way of talking.
At that moment, Jierna was reviewing documents.
She frowned at two consecutive years of losses.
Headquarters had sent her directly to Fog City in Huaxia to turn the park’s losses around.
But judging by its current income and expenses, that was simply not a goal she could accomplish in the short term.
“Manager, Boss Zhang is here, but there’s a slight problem.”
“Tell me!”
“Apart from Boss Zhang, managers from thirteen amusement parks in Huaxia have come. They seem to be here to watch us make fools of ourselves.”
Jierna’s expression darkened at once.
“Is the new attraction ready to use?”
“Yes!”
“Take them to the new attraction. Let’s see whether this Zhang Bei really has three heads and six arms.”
“Manager, perhaps we should let it go. That Boss Zhang…”
“Do as I say!”
Jierna cut the employee off.
She refused to believe anyone could truly be utterly without fear.

Countless couples were showing affection on the Ferris Wheel.
Zhang Bei hummed a little tune and pressed the red button.
