Chapter 237
Chapter 237
One-Punch Man moved fast. Before the monsters could even get close, he had already set down the clippers.
If King Yan wants me dead at the third watch, then damn it, I’ll report at the second!
My fate is mine, not Heaven’s!
The art of war: win by taking them by surprise!
An utterly ordinary punch blasted forth. Blood erupted all over the man’s body, and he collapsed limply to the ground.
Yet that simple punch ripped two feet of earth straight off the ground.
Kong Hanchi’s eyes bulged. “I’m reporting him! He’s hacking!”
It was like everyone else had started the game at level one. At most, someone might score a pentakill and end up with one more B. F. Sword than the others.
But starting at level eighteen with a full six-item build? Wasn’t that going a little too far?
He didn’t have long to dwell on it. Serious Punch easily wiped out Kong Hanchi and his entire army.
While the Mole side was still staring in shock, No. 39 appeared among the monsters in an instant, holding a skeleton in her arms.
With a wave of my sleeve, I leave without taking a single cloud with me-Lao·Xiangzi·She.
No. 39 had completed her task, and she instantly vanished from the spot.
The skeleton she left behind immediately demonstrated its power.
Bone Woman-one of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Summon success rate: one percent!
As a powerful yokai, her combat strength was naturally formidable.
Aside from the Necromancer, the other two Mole players didn’t even get a chance to activate their abilities before withered bones pierced their chests.
However, the Necromancer’s Skeleton Knight had been summoned through the sacrifice of practically an entire building.
Bone Woman was ultimately no match for it. She fell to the ground and crumbled into a pile of dry bones.
No. 11’s expression darkened. According to his plan, this summon should have eliminated every Mole player. He only had one summon left, and it had to be saved for the spider.
But the situation left him no room to hesitate. Just as he prepared to begin his final summoning, the campus loudspeakers suddenly crackled to life.
“Evil can never triumph over justice!”
“A hero must always make his entrance at the very last moment!”
“Dun-dun, dun-dun, dun-dun-dun!”
Wearing a red bedsheet as a cape, Chuunibyou slowly strode over in time with the music, a longsword in hand.
No. 10 fingered the Invisibility Cloak around him and lowered his voice. “Don’t tell me this kid’s been setting up all this nonsense the entire time?”
No. 11 fell silent for a moment. “He even prepared theme music. I don’t think he’s been idle for a second.”
The Necromancer stared at the approaching young man, his tiny eyes filled with enormous confusion.
Where had this guy come from?
Why did his entrance even come with theme music?
Chuunibyou had no time to waste on banter. His theme music only lasted two minutes, so he had to finish the battle before it ended.
The young man drew his longsword with one hand and gave a cold snort. “Zhuque Sacred Slash!”
A wave of crimson sword energy took the shape of Zhuque and hurtled toward the Necromancer.
The Necromancer hurriedly ordered the Skeleton Knight to block it.
The battle erupted. Despite the immense pressure it had radiated earlier, the Skeleton Knight was rendered utterly helpless beneath Chuunibyou’s onslaught.
A full minute passed, and No. 10 and No. 11 were completely stupefied.
No. 10 stared at the battle before him. “Come to think of it, he’s been fighting all this time, but I don’t think he’s repeated a single move, has he?”
No. 11 nodded. “In his own way, he’s a genius too.”
The Necromancer, however, was being tormented beyond endurance as he took the beating.
The battle was already dangerous and nerve-racking enough, yet his opponent shouted out the name of a new technique with every single attack.
There was only one thing the Necromancer wanted to know: did this guy seriously not possess even a shred of shame?
Chuunibyou silently calculated the time. He probably only had a dozen or so seconds left.
After forcing the Skeleton Knight back with a Future Sword Slash, Chuunibyou’s gaze instantly turned razor-sharp.
“Heroes must always pay a price. Let my blood hail our victory!”
The members of the Good Faction standing behind him had long since gone numb to his antics.
“Strangely enough, that line doesn’t sound out of place at all coming from him.”
“Oh, now I’m getting fired up too!”
“Hey, could you at least put some feeling into it when you say that?”
Their chatter gradually died down. Chuunibyou tightened his grip on his sword.
“A single fragrant blade joins the boundless green; with my blood, I dye the azure heavens!”
As his voice fell, the sword rapidly drained every drop of blood from Chuunibyou’s body.
A towering wave of blood-red sword energy instantly surged forth.
The Necromancer stared blankly at the sword energy, which stood more than ten meters tall.
“Holy shit! Is that really necessary?!”
His shout did nothing to stop it. The blood-red sword energy instantly struck the Skeleton Knight standing in its path.
In less than a second, the entire Skeleton Knight was reduced to ash.
The Necromancer hiding behind it wasn’t spared either. He perished inside the school beneath the same strike.
No. 11 stared at the school, which had been cleaved cleanly in two, and fell silent for a long moment.
“Time to deal with that Giant Spider!”
With that, No. 11 pressed both hands to the ground and used the summoning spell for the final time.
Watching through the surveillance feed, Zhang Bei couldn’t help but sigh.
At this point, the Good Faction’s odds of victory had already reached eighty percent, but every last one of them had fallen into the same misconception.
This wasn’t some monster-slaying game!
This was Werewolf!
If every Mole was dead, the scenario should have ended already!
Had it never occurred to any of them that there had to be one Mole still alive?
And I never designed this boss for you people to kill in the first place!
Then the image on the monitor made Zhang Bei fall completely silent.
They couldn’t actually be about to kill the boss, could they?
As No. 11’s summoning spell took effect, a figure carrying three long banners on his back slowly appeared.
The 0.1-percent summon-Abe no Seimei!
The Giant Spider scuttled toward them on all eight legs.
“This must be your final trump card, then?”
Abe no Seimei fixed his gaze on the Giant Spider before him. “Is this the enemy?”
No. 11 nodded. “Yes, that’s it!”
Abe no Seimei planted all three banners into the ground, then took out his Divination Board.
“Azure Dragon, Zhuque, Black Tortoise, White Tiger-form the array at the four quarters!”
The Divination Board flashed with four different colors, and four spectral figures immediately surrounded the Giant Spider.
But he wasn’t finished yet!
“Tianyi, Tengshe, Liuhe, the Three Powers, stand side by side!”
Three more spectral figures appeared in the sky and charged straight at the Giant Spider.
There was no longer any suspense to the battle. That 0.1-percent summon rate was no joke.
The Giant Spider’s stats might have been set absurdly high by Zhang Bei, but each of the Twelve Shikigami, taken individually, was roughly on par with it.
In less than two minutes, the Azure Dragon shattered the Giant Spider’s brain with a Divine Dragon’s Tail Sweep, sending its corpse crashing to the ground.
Abe no Seimei put away his Divination Board and bowed to No. 11. “Are there any other enemies that require my attention?”
“No!”
“Then I shall take my leave.”
Abe no Seimei glanced at the Giant Spider’s corpse before his figure faded away.
No. 11 frowned and looked around.
Why hadn’t the game ended yet?
In broad daylight, No. 10 slowly approached the Giant Spider’s corpse while wearing the Invisibility Cloak.
The final Mole had surfaced!
