Chapter 205

The new attraction looked like a plate magnified countless times.

More than a hundred chairs stood on it, each clearly marked with a number.

Most terrifying of all, the device mounted above each chair was unmistakably equipment from Another Life.

“Go on up. I’ll explain the rules.”

The group reluctantly shuffled over and sat down. Zhang Bei then began explaining.

“This is Hundred-Player Werewolf. Five of you are Mole players. Every two minutes, those five Mole players can send one person to a certain place, which is effectively an elimination.”

After a brief pause, a broad smile spread across Zhang Bei’s face.

“Trust me. You definitely don’t want to find out where that place is!”

“There will also be a public vote every five minutes. If you want to survive, do your best to identify the Mole players. The game begins now!”

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone wearing the glasses felt their vision shift. In the next instant, they found themselves inside a dilapidated Psychiatric Hospital.

Qingqing turned to glance at the crowd behind her.

Everyone had a number printed on their chest, and they were all dressed in identical hospital gowns.

“Everyone, let’s vote Qingqing out!”

“Agreed!”

“Seconded!”

Qingqing: “???”

“What is wrong with you people?”

“Bah! This was your idea, and you picked the location. But when it came time to be punished, you dragged all of us into it!”

“Don’t be ridiculous. Weren’t you having fun too?”

The moment the words left her mouth, a crimson light enveloped someone in the crowd. An ear-piercing scream instantly rang across the sky.

Everyone fell silent. Qingqing quietly took two steps back.

Had two minutes already passed?

That fast?

“Stop messing around! We need to find clues!”

Only then did the group come to their senses. Now was not the time to settle personal grudges.

Judging by that scream alone, it wasn’t hard to imagine the gruesome fate awaiting anyone who was eliminated.

The game only truly began once the group entered the Psychiatric Hospital.

The building’s layout had been modeled exactly after the Third Hospital.

It had five floors in total, but its crumbling walls made it look as though it had been abandoned for countless years.

Qingqing had sharp eyes. The moment she stepped into the lobby, she spotted a shadow flickering past one of the windows.

Right before everyone’s eyes, two people rushed over and opened the door.

“Don’t!”

Before they could even wonder why they shouldn’t open it, a pair of blood-red hands shot out and dragged them into the room.

Their anguished screams rang out once more, making Qingqing’s scalp prickle.

“Look at the wall!”

A dense string of numbers had been scrawled in blood across the corridor wall.

“They should be two calculus problems. I used L’Hôpital’s Rule and got ten and twenty.”

A young man’s voice broke the oppressive silence.

But after he finished speaking, the atmosphere became even quieter.

“What? Isn’t L’Hôpital’s Rule a basic formula?”

Qingqing stiffly turned her head and forcibly changed the subject. “In other words, one of the Mole players has a number between No. 10 and No. 20?”

Crimson light descended again. The young man who had just spoken vanished amid a fit of agonized screams.

Qingqing’s expression darkened. They had only been inside for four minutes, yet they had already lost so many people just as they found their first clue?

The public vote only happened once every five minutes, but the Mole side got an elimination every two minutes.

Add in the occasional idiot courting death, and people would disappear even faster.

There was no time to think. Qingqing spoke rapidly.

“Let’s vote out No. 10 first!”

“Why me?!”

“We’ll go in order. Next time, it’ll be No. 11!”

As soon as she finished speaking, a small translucent screen appeared in front of everyone.
They had only three seconds to vote-nowhere near enough time to say anything.

The moment the small screen vanished, No. 10 was engulfed in a bloodred glow.

As his screams went on and on, chills ran down the backs of everyone who remained.

Only then did they realize that if they did not hurry and search for clues, the same fate-being eliminated without ever knowing when it would happen-would soon befall them.

Nie Min was a twenty-year-old young man. The number displayed on him identified him as No. 18.

He was also the Mole indicated by the clue.

A Mole might be able to eliminate other players at will, but the role came with even greater risks.

There was no way to communicate with teammates, and they had to take turns choosing whom to eliminate.

The advantages, however, were just as obvious. They could not be attacked, and dangerous areas glowed red in their vision.

Nie Min wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and prayed that his teammates would pull their weight.

A man stepped out from the crowd.

“Qingqing, I think we should split up. Keeping this many people together is too inefficient!”

“All right. I’ll take the players numbered after forty to the second floor!”

Qingqing only had to think for a moment to realize that splitting up was inevitable.

In this game, the good players were in a race against time.

Their only chance of victory was to gather enough clues before their numbers dropped too low.

The massive crowd divided into two groups, and Qingqing led one of them toward the second floor.

The man who stayed on the first floor cleared his throat. “I’m No. 3. We’ll search in groups of five and meet back here before the next vote!”

The large group broke into smaller teams and scattered across the first floor.

Qingqing made the same decision upstairs, taking several players she knew to explore the second floor with her.

The first floor was a lobby, while the second was lined with examination rooms. Qingqing was the first to push open the door to one of them.

The long-neglected door opened with a creak.

The examination room was not particularly large. Paint peeled from the walls, and green mold covered every corner.

Qingqing stepped inside cautiously.

Bang!

The door suddenly slammed shut. A man with half his face gnawed away by some unknown creature appeared before her.

“Sit down. It’s time for your examination!”

Her years of experience at the amusement park had taught Qingqing when to comply. She obediently sat in the chair.

The man casually picked up a penlight and shone it into Qingqing’s eyes.

After a full five seconds, the middle-aged man finally lowered it. “Not bad. You’re more obedient than the ones in Room 302.”

The door opened again, and the man who had been sitting there vanished.

Qingqing’s mind raced. Was there a clue in Room 302?

Before she could say anything, screams erupted outside.

The players who had been guarding the entrance rushed inside and shut the door behind them.

“What the hell was that?”

“A nurse?”

“Quiet! It’s coming this way!”

Treading softly, Qingqing edged closer to the door.

Through the glass, she could just make out what was happening in the corridor.

A vaguely humanoid Flesh Mountain was hunting down the people in the hallway with an enormous syringe in hand.

Despite its tremendous bulk, the creature moved terrifyingly fast.

Every fleeing player was caught and given an injection.

The needle was as thick as an arm, and a bloodred glow would immediately Devour anyone it pierced.

The Flesh Mountain shook, sending its rolls of fat rippling, then smacked the NO RUNNING sign twice before disappearing into the darkness.

Qingqing took a deep breath. “It’s gone. Let’s get out of here!”

She slowly pushed open the door, then led the others straight toward the third floor.

Countless couples were showing affection on the Ferris Wheel.

Zhang Bei hummed a little tune and pressed the red button.
