Looking at the coconuts in his hands, Li Yang nearly cried.
Who knew why there was so little fresh water on this Island?
Holding the coconuts, he cautiously prepared to climb down.
Suddenly, the ground seemed to shake.
He looked out through clouds of dust and saw countless Death Worms.
Li Yang clung to the trunk as the creatures surrounded him.
After a long moment’s thought, he reached a conclusion.
Qingqing and You Bai definitely hadn’t been digested. They must have run away!
Zhang Bei’s prediction had been uncannily accurate. At a time like this, run faster than your teammates and you would be safe.
Those two beasts!
Li Yang nearly burst into tears as he looked at his coconuts.
We were teammates! And you just abandoned me like that?
Still, there was some good news for Li Yang.
At least he could survive on coconuts until Zhang Bei came to rescue him.
He couldn’t escape now anyway. Cautiously, Li Yang peeled away a coconut’s outer husk.
What he saw left him bewildered.
A small pointed hammer was attached to the coconut shell. There was even a straw.
Wordlessly, Li Yang used the pointed tool to break into the coconut, inserted the straw, and drank with relish.
In the wild, coconuts provided more than fresh water.
More importantly, the spongy sprout and flesh inside could keep a person from starving.
Li Yang naturally knew that, so he used the hammer to crack open the shell.
A card wrapped in plastic film came clearly into view.
The bold words “Pass Card” seemed to bestow hope upon him.
Li Yang looked down at the dozen-plus Death Worms lurking at ground level beneath the tree.
With the Pass Card hidden inside a coconut, someone had to lure away the worms for another person to retrieve it.
But whoever did the luring, faced with this many worms, would almost inevitably abandon their teammate.
Li Yang silently put the Pass Card away and continued eating coconut.
One had to have hope. What if he managed to escape danger?
Far away, Qingqing and You Bai found a patch of shrubs and stopped to rest.
Qingqing licked her dry lips, her face filled with despair.

Apart from the water they had taken from that vine at the start, they hadn’t had a drop to drink, and they had been running all this time.
Boss Zhang’s love for his visitors was now flourishing on both the mental and physical fronts.

Guan Guo, who was grilling skewers, looked confused. “What is it?”
“Suppose you’re lying in bed with a beautiful woman on your left and a gay man on your right. Which one do you turn your back to?”
The question, fraught with philosophy and danger, plunged Guan Guo into thought.
“The meat’s about to burn!”
Only Zhang Bei’s shout brought Guan Guo back to his senses.
But he couldn’t get the question out of his head.
Zhang Bei picked up a skewer of lamb and continued scrolling through the feeds.
The Death Worms’ movements on-screen immediately caught his interest.
Barring any surprises, Li Yang, that king of troublemakers, would soon be getting down from his tree!
Beneath the coconut tree, a group of four crouched behind a rock.
Four pairs of eyes gleamed hungrily at the coconuts overhead as their owners swallowed.
“Are we really going to provoke those worms?”
“Yes. Either die of thirst or turn into a pile of shit and be done with it!”
“I can climb. I’ll get the coconuts.”
“All right. The three of us will lure the worms away!”
They quickly devised a less-than-perfect plan, then put it into action.
Li Yang hugged a pile of coconuts, his eyes gleaming.

Wasn’t this the hope he’d been waiting for?
Soon, three of them used stones to stir up the Death Worms.
A great mass of worms charged straight at them.
The remaining good brother was preparing to climb when a figure suddenly jumped out of the tree.
Several coconuts were thrust into his hands.
“Thanks, brother! I’m off!”
With that, Li Yang ran in the direction Qingqing and You Bai had fled.
Only a dazed man remained where he had been.
There was no denying that Li Yang was generous. He had picked five coconuts in total.
Apart from the one he had drunk, he gave every last one away.
As for Qingqing and You Bai?
Let them thirst!
He hadn’t settled accounts with those two for abandoning him yet!
After his rest, Li Yang could more or less be considered well-fed and hydrated.
And so, after a brief think, he made an important decision.
Run straight for the exit!
He had the Pass Card, after all. Running all the way to the finish shouldn’t be a problem!
But throughout Boss Zhang’s long refusal to behave like a human, no one had ever found a loophole in his designs.
Running through a primeval forest?

The two exchanged a glance, then scattered in opposite directions.
Faced with a choice, the lion picked the one with the tenderest meat and gave chase.
And so Qingqing, already tired and thirsty, was the unlucky one.
“Motherfucker! Weren’t you chasing Li Yang?”
