Chapter 77
Chapter 77
It was already close to the midday break, and Chef Li had begun preparing lunch.
The boxed lunches for the tourists were also being sent out one after another.
Li Yang led a group of people into the Cafeteria and soon found Zhang Bei in the kitchen.
“Boss, you’re sneaking food again!”
Zhang Bei wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth. “I’m tasting it for you guys first!”
Li Yang rolled his eyes. “The teacher’s here, Boss. Stop eating already!”
Zhang Bei put down the chicken drumstick in his hand and wiped his hands.
“Welcome!”
Teacher Li watched the scene with a smile.
“Business has been good lately, Boss Zhang.”
Zhang Bei smiled. “It’s all right. At the very least, I can’t let these kids go hungry.”
As he spoke, his gaze shifted to the interns standing off to the side.
Zhang Bei had interviewed five people by video a while back, and all five were standing there now.
“Go ahead and sit. After lunch, I’ll have Li Yang take you to experience some of the Amusement Park’s attractions.”
Li Yang’s eyes instantly lit up. “Yes, Boss!”
Traditions could not be abandoned. Since new employees had arrived, they had to be properly put through the wringer at least once.
“Thank you, Boss!”
The interns were very polite, completely unaware of what was about to happen.
Zhang Bei chatted with Teacher Li, and before they knew it, the midday break had arrived.
The staff came flooding into the Cafeteria in a grand procession.
“Welcome, new colleagues!”
You Bai was the first to speak, standing to the side and clapping.
Only after everyone had arrived did Chef Li announce, “You can eat now!”
The moment Li Yang heard the word “eat,” he appeared at the serving window with a tray in the blink of an eye.
Chef Li looked up and somehow had not noticed when the kid had gotten there.
“What do you want?”
“That tiger-head chicken, fish, and another chicken drumstick.”
Chef Li placed the dishes on the tray and waved him off. “Next!”
The interns found the scene rather unbelievable.
“This is free?”
Zhang Bei smiled. “Yes. No wasting food.”
You Bai was not Li Yang, who threw everything else aside the second he heard it was mealtime. You Bai helped the interns get their trays and line up.
Zhang Bei took the tray personally delivered by Chef Li and sat back down in his chair.
As the boss, wasn’t it only natural for him to enjoy a few privileges?
After the sumptuous lunch ended, even Teacher Li could not help savoring the memory.
Compared to the school’s Cafeteria, the food here was better by an unknown number of levels.
They were both large-batch cafeteria dishes, yet the Amusement Park’s food just happened to taste so much better.
That much could be seen from Li Yang and the others.
Judging by his figure alone, Li Yang had gained at least ten pounds since coming to the Amusement Park.
After letting the food settle for a while, Zhang Bei stood up. “Let’s go. Time to let our new employees experience the Amusement Park.”
Hearing Zhang Bei’s words, the doctor off to the side twitched at the corner of his mouth and silently picked up the medical kit.
The interns, however, were still immersed in excitement and did not notice the playful smiles on the faces of the veteran employees at all.
Li Yang led the way, introducing the Amusement Park’s facilities, and finally pointed to the Ejection Chair nearby.
“That’s an original attraction. I’m in charge of it right now. Want to try it?”
“Sorry to trouble you, senior!”
“Thank you, senior!”
After sending the group onto the Ejection Chair, Li Yang walked back down with a smile on his face.
“Well? They’re all up there, right?”
Gu Yue rolled her eyes. “Nasty.”
You Bai turned his head. “Why must kin torment kin?”
Li Yang’s expression darkened at their comments. “Hey, hey, hey. You two want to watch just as much as I do, okay!”
Zhang Bei sighed. “Let’s begin!”
Li Yang pressed the switch beside him, and the familiar music instantly rang out.
The five of them shot forward like they had been launched from a cannon, soaring onto the track in the blink of an eye.
Listening to the screams overhead, everyone present burst into unrestrained laughter.
After all, which one of them hadn’t been put through this torture?
Who hadn’t come to the amusement park for the first time and experienced that feeling of their body flying ahead while their soul chased after it from behind?
This was tradition. New employees had to experience tradition when they first arrived. That was a good thing.
The screams lasted for a full seven minutes, and the seats were still flying through the air.
The doctor’s expression immediately darkened. “Judging from their heart rates, three of them have already fainted.”
Zhang Bei turned his head, ignoring the doctor’s stare. “Li Yang picked the ride. Li Yang sent them up there. Looking at me won’t help.”
Li Yang, who had been snickering to himself, froze on the spot.
“Damn it, boss, you’re throwing me under the bus again!”
“I didn’t. I haven’t. Don’t talk nonsense!”
The doctor merely grumbled a couple more lines, but his gaze remained fixed on the tablet in his hand.
Soon, the ride came to an end. Li Yang strode forward and helped the doctor undo their safety belts.
The two people who had still had their eyes open saw Li Yang, then simply shut their eyes and lay back in their seats.
The doctor’s chilling voice rang out.
“Oh, so you’re all unconscious now?”
Li Yang gave a light cough. “It’s fine, it’s fine. Who comes to an Amusement Park and doesn’t faint once or twice?”
The doctor only gave them a checkup. After confirming that none of them had any real issues, he finally let out a breath of relief.
“Boss, can’t the next attraction be a little safer?”
“Which attraction here isn’t safe?”
The doctor’s gaze grew even more resentful.
That wasn’t what I meant, okay?
Since when did his own boss stop being reasonable?
After a long silence, the doctor finally forced out, “I mean, can the next attraction not be this intense?”
Zhang Bei thought for a moment. “The next attraction is the Ferris Wheel.”
Hearing that, the doctor immediately sighed in relief.
The Ferris Wheel, huh? That was fine.
No matter how wild Zhang Bei got, surely nothing could happen on a Ferris Wheel, right?
Professor Yao also walked over from the side. “Oh? They all fainted this time?”
Zhang Bei nodded. “This batch of employees doesn’t have enough mental fortitude. They need training!”
Everyone beside him collectively took two steps back.
Please leave them out of this sort of thing. Their old arms and legs couldn’t withstand such generous affection.
After a little over ten minutes, the people who had fainted gradually woke up.
Each of them held a cup of special drink and sipped at it in small mouthfuls.
Zhang Bei glanced at the time. “All right. In a while, Li Yang will arrange someone to show you around. You’ll officially start work tomorrow.”
Li Yang hid off to the side, staring at five pairs of eyes filled with malice.
“Uh, everyone, rest up first. There’s still plenty of time!”
Teacher Li’s face was also full of smiles. The atmosphere here was truly joyful.
Every time he came, he could feel the energy of young people.
“Boss Zhang, I’ll leave the kids in your hands and head off now!”
“You’re not staying a few days to have some fun?”
Teacher Li shook his head. “No, the school just started its new term. There are still a lot of things to handle.”
“Then I’ll see you off!”
Zhang Bei drove Teacher Li all the way to the high-speed rail station before returning to the Amusement Park.
By the time he got back, it was already two in the afternoon, and the new employees had begun adapting to their jobs.
In truth, they had learned most of what they needed at school. Coming here was just a matter of spending an afternoon getting used to the place.
Zhang Bei made a round of inspections. After confirming there were no problems, he headed toward the Underground Maze.
In order to get visitors to clear the Underground Maze, Zhang Bei had truly racked his brains.

Countless couples were showing affection on the Ferris Wheel.
