In an instant, the man’s hand moved toward his waist.

Although they were external personnel, they were fully equipped with standard gear. The item the man was about to pull out was no exception.

As the words fell, the face of the man pinned to the ground turned deathly pale.

Between the object pressed against the back of his head and the explanation provided by that sentence, he would have to be an idiot not to understand what was happening.

Treason?

That was a crime punishable by death!

“I didn’t commit treason! It’s not me! I didn’t!”

His desperate denials didn’t hinder the bodyguards’ movements in the slightest as they dragged him away.

The companion who had come with him was covered in a cold sweat. He had been just a hair’s breadth away from being the one to act!

Professor Li gave them a dismissive glance before shifting his gaze to Zhang Bei.

“Send me the formula later.”

Zhang Bei smiled. “Will do!”

Watching Sister Nan head back toward the Toy House, Zhang Bei breathed a sigh of relief.

While Micro Electromagnetic tech wasn’t exactly Black Tech, it was still about two years ahead of modern technology. He could handle the others; even with someone like Heizi, Zhang Bei was confident he could bluff his way through.

But Sister Nan was different. She was the one who had watched him grow up since he was a child. If he told her he had developed this technology himself, she would be more likely to send him to a mental hospital.

This incident also served as a warning for Zhang Bei. The Future Mall in the System had hundreds of pages of technology; he couldn’t just leave them untouched forever. However, many of the items in there completely transcended the current era. If he wanted to bring these things into existence, he had to find a way to divert suspicion.

Lost in thought, Zhang Bei unconsciously sat back down in his chair.

“System, you can’t provide these things without giving me a solution for the fallout, right?”

“This System is designed for the needs of the Amusement Park. Everything is centered on the Amusement Park.”

Zhang Bei curled his lip. This damn System didn’t have a shred of intelligence. Relying on it for help was impossible.
