Chapter 71
Chapter 71
Zhang Bei’s face darkened. “Toy car my ass. This is a scale model of a car, a perfect replica.”
Heizi still frowned, however. “The automotive market is saturated right now. Isn’t it a bit late to enter the game?”
As a second-generation rich kid, Heizi was well aware of the current market conditions. Despite spending his days eating, drinking, and playing, he still conducted market research.
Once the time was right, he would take over a portion of his family’s business and eventually take control of the entire operation step by step.
Zhang Bei narrowed his eyes. “This car uses a brand-new power source. Its energy consumption is only one-third of an electric vehicle, maybe even less.”
Heizi’s eyes instantly widened. “Holy crap, you’re really aiming for the stars!”
“Interested now?”
“Duh. Tell me, how do you plan to do this?”
Zhang Bei thought it over carefully. “I’ll take thirty-five percent, give Guan Guo five percent, and you take sixty percent.”
Heizi sat back in his chair, pondering. “You mean you’re planning to dump the whole thing on me?”
Zhang Bei nodded. “I don’t have the time. Guan Guo still needs to lead the subsequent R&D plans.”
Looking at the toy car on the floor, Heizi suddenly had an idea.
“What do you think would happen if I didn’t involve my family?”
Zhang Bei’s lip twitched. “Going solo?”
“Of course. If I don’t involve the family, there will be far fewer headaches.”
Zhang Bei also thought of that group of second-generation heirs who were sitting on a mountain of idle cash. “I agree.”
If Heizi’s family got involved in this project, Heizi would ultimately have no say in it. Professionals would be brought in to evaluate it, and a brand would be built through a series of marketing campaigns.
But if they didn’t play with the older generation and instead formed an automotive company as a joint venture between a group of wealthy heirs, development might be much slower in the early stages, but they would be free from the interference of a board of directors and shareholders.
The car’s progress would actually be healthier that way.
Heizi stood up, holding the car in one hand. “I’m heading out now. I’ll get the company and the factory ready in the short term.”
Zhang Bei waved him off. “I’ll leave it to you.”
Watching Heizi walk away, Guan Guo, who had been holding back for a long time, finally spoke up.
“Boss, there’s no need to give me so many shares. I didn’t do anything.”
The data belonged to Zhang Bei, and the Laboratory belonged to Zhang Bei. He had merely followed the steps in the data to build it piece by piece. Forget him-even a graduate student could have completed this experiment.
Guan Guo knew very well how vast the prospects for this car were. A five percent stake was practically giving away money!
Zhang Bei smiled. “Alright, if you really feel bad about it, see if you can find a materials science researcher over the next few days.”
Guan Guo’s eyes lit up. “Does the Boss have more new data?”
Zhang Bei nodded. “Yes. A brand-new steel structure.”
Guan Guo gasped. A brand-new steel structure meant a new type of alloy. The applications for such a thing were broad beyond imagination.
“I’ll go look for one right away!”
Zhang Bei patted Guan Guo on the shoulder. “No rush. I’ll give you the data next month.”
“Okay, I’ll make some preparations in advance.”
Zhang Bei checked the time; it was almost late at night.
“I’m heading out. You should get some rest early too.”
“Yes, Boss!”
Nothing more was said that night, and in the blink of an eye, the next day arrived.
The amusement park opened for business as usual, but today was the day a new event began.
Countless tourists gathered in front of the billboard.
“Holy crap, you can get an exquisite gift just by collecting the whole set?”
“Damn, he didn’t even say what the rewards are?”
“Brothers, I’m going to go risk my life!”
The rewards provided by the boss had always been exquisitely crafted.
Even the Pass Cards were printed with unique serial numbers. Those who managed to get one were often reluctant to use the free entry credits, choosing instead to keep them as precious collectibles.
As the number of visitors to the amusement park grew, these cards naturally became a mark of prestige.
Standing in a crowd, one didn’t need to say a word; simply pulling out the card was a symbol of status.
With this new event, countless people were certain of one thing: the prizes would definitely include something similar to those cards.

Meanwhile, inside the only five-star hotel in Dingyang City.
A smallish conference room was packed with people.
“Is everyone here?”
Heizi sat next to the projector, his gaze sweeping across the room.
“We’re all here. Why did you call us over?”
Almost everyone sitting in the room was a second-generation rich kid, and they were all on good terms with Heizi.
Heizi’s tone was flat. “A money-making project. I’m opening up five percent for you guys to invest in.”
“What kind of project?”
“A new propulsion system for cars. Its energy consumption is lower than electric vehicles.”
As soon as Heizi finished speaking, several people immediately shook their heads.
It wasn’t that they weren’t interested in what Heizi said, but rather that the automotive industry wasn’t a suitable investment for some of them.
“Only five percent?”
“It’s plenty. And this time, we’re not bringing our families into it.”
Hearing this, the eyes of several people lit up.
“If you’re interested, stay. If not, go grab some food first, and we’ll all get a drink together this afternoon.”
Upon hearing Heizi’s words, more than half of the dozen or so people stood up.
Some of these people had businesses that had nothing to do with cars, so they didn’t plan to invest. Others simply didn’t have any spare cash on hand.
After all, since they weren’t involving their families this time, they had to rely entirely on their own funds.
Heizi took a quick look; there were seven people left.
“One percent each. An investment of five million. Any problems?”
“No problem!”
“I’m good here too!”
“I can do that!”
This was a true portrayal of this group of second-generation heirs. They were all familiar with each other, and when someone had a way to make money, they wouldn’t leave the others behind.
As long as the project was right, everyone would chip in a bit of money.
Even if they lost, it wouldn’t be much, but if they won, the profits would be astronomical.
Heizi quickly finished printing the contracts, and everyone signed their names.
Just as they were about to head out the door, a voice sounded in Heizi’s ear.
“Brother Hei, are you sure about this business?”
Heizi turned around. The speaker was a thin young man.
“Is everything settled with your family?”
The young man gave a bitter smile. “Settled. My older brother is inheriting all the shares.”
Heizi nodded. “Just follow me for a while. Even if you don’t get the meat, I’ll make sure you get some soup.”
“Thanks, Brother Hei!”
“Don’t mention it. After all these years, I know you well enough!”
With the business concluded, the group moved on to enjoy themselves.

It was now afternoon. Zhang Bei sat near the Ski Resort, letting out a satisfied burp.
Suddenly, a loud argument drew Zhang Bei’s attention.
The commotion quickly attracted a crowd of onlookers. At the center of the dispute was You Bai.
Zhang Bei raised an eyebrow and followed the flow of tourists toward the scene.
“What’s going on?”
Seeing Zhang Bei arrive, You Bai spoke up hurriedly, “This person wants to challenge me to a race, but the other tourists feel like it’s wasting their time.”
