Chapter 74
Chapter 74
The people around him were trembling with fear.
Yun Youyou, lying comfortably on her side on the mattress, opened one eye at the sound.
“Nonsense. You’re carrying such a huge cross on your shoulder; of course it’s going to leave a scratch when it scrapes against the wall.”
After speaking, Yun Youyou closed her eyes again, speechless.
The male Player looked at the cross on his shoulder.
Sure enough, the top corner was stained with a bit of wall dust.
He must have failed to notice when the cross accidentally brushed against the wall just now.
The male Player quickly shifted the cross to a different position and said awkwardly, “Sorry about that, I was overreacting.”
The Players around him breathed a sigh of relief.
Rich guy patted his chest in lingering fear. “You almost scared me to death.”
The male Player scratched his head sheepishly.
The group pulled themselves together and continued deeper into the building.
Everyone turned into the backyard.
In the middle of the yard was a desolate clearing. Bare yellow soil was exposed to the air, with several tombstones standing haphazardly upon it.
Seeing this, Rich guy’s limbs began to shake again.
“These aren’t… graves, are they?”
No one answered his question.
Aside from graves, they couldn’t think of anything else they could be.
For a moment, the Players slowed their pace, somewhat afraid to move forward any further.
Yun Youyou, however, was lying on her mattress. She was perfectly comfortable and not tired at all, so she wasn’t in any hurry.
Shamate said, “Are you guys going or not? If you keep dawdling, the Vampire is going to get tired of waiting.”
Having come this far, they couldn’t exactly back out now.
Several Players plucked up their courage and continued forward.
They walked until they reached a wooden door.
The wood grain was ancient, and the entire door looked like it was about to fall apart.
This door must have been there for many years.
Not only did the Players hold their breath in tension, but even the two ghosts, Shamate and the Red-haired Trendy Guy, couldn’t help but start getting nervous.
They all turned to look at Yun Youyou in unison, hoping to draw some strength from her.
Shamate was even thinking to himself: *The Violent Woman really lives up to her name. Even at a time like this, she’s actually this calm.*
But when they turned their heads, everyone fell silent.
Yun Youyou! She! She was actually asleep!
Just how big did her heart have to be for her to be snoring away right at a Vampire’s doorstep?
Speechless as they were, seeing Yun Youyou fast asleep actually caused everyone’s hearts to calm down miraculously.
Rich guy reached out and pushed open the wooden door.
The old wooden door let out a series of creaks.
The faint sound of scurrying rats could also be heard.
Everyone walked in silently.
At this point, Rich guy and the others didn’t even dare to turn on their flashlights.
Everyone groped their way through the darkness with extreme caution.
As Rich guy walked, he suddenly felt a bit of an itch on his arm.
His body went stiff as he reached out to feel it.
What he touched was a furry sensation. It seemed to be constantly wriggling, and Rich guy could even feel a deep sense of malice emanating from it.
“AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”
Rich guy violently flung the thing off his arm.
With a scream, he let go and bolted forward in a panic.
Although the others didn’t know what had happened, Rich guy’s yell was enough to shatter their nerves completely.
Seeing Rich guy run off screaming, the group turned into a chaotic mess, fleeing in a frantic rush.
Su Yurou remained relatively calm.
She glanced at the still-sleeping Yun Youyou, then at the panicked, fleeing crowd, and finally chose to run away with them.
Yun Youyou’s sleep quality was excellent; even in such a noisy environment, she only frowned slightly.
Who knows how much time had passed.
Yun Youyou finally finished her long sleep and opened her eyes.
The moment she woke up, everything was pitch black. She almost thought she’d gone blind.
Oh! My eyes!
Fortunately, Yun Youyou quickly regained her senses and realized she wasn’t blind; it was just that the surroundings were too dark.
She sat on her mattress, feeling dazed.
There wasn’t a soul around. It was just her and her mattress, depending on each other for survival.
Yun Youyou blinked blankly.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to be doing?
Why was she the only one left after waking up from a nap?
Yun Youyou pondered for a while but still couldn’t find any answers.
Left with no choice, she had to rely on herself. She stood up and continued walking forward.
Along the way, she didn’t see so much as a shadow of another person.
When she grew tired of walking, she leaned lazily against a wall.
*Click!*
The lights in the room suddenly flickered on.
Yun Youyou was momentarily blinded by the harsh incandescent light. She squinted for a good while before her vision finally adjusted.
It turned out she had accidentally leaned against the light switch.
Yun Youyou’s eyes darted around as she took in her surroundings.
The walls were covered in deep red wallpaper, and thick black curtains were tightly drawn, blocking out even the slightest sliver of light.
The layout of this room was similar to her own, with one major difference: there was a reddish-brown coffin sitting on the floor.
Yun Youyou hadn’t expected to walk straight into the Vampire’s Headquarters.
Just as she was considering whether to back out, the Rich guy and his group burst inside.
The Rich guy, leading the pack, looked particularly disheveled.
His clothes were filthy and stained with mud, and his pants were soaked, clinging to his legs and dripping water onto the floor.
Yun Youyou kept her distance from him, eyeing his bedraggled state. “Where did you go?”
Still shaken, the Rich guy panted heavily. “There are so many ghosts here… it’s terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!”
Yun Youyou hadn’t seen a single ghost. She asked, puzzled, “Where did you see them?”
“Just now…”
Before the Rich guy could finish his sentence, he suddenly snapped his mouth shut.
He tilted his head to listen for a moment, his eyes widening. “Did you hear that sound?”
Yun Youyou pointed to the coffin in the center of the room.
“Do you mean this?”
The Rich guy followed her finger.
!!!
The coffin, which had been tightly sealed, now had a visible crack running along the lid.
Even more terrifyingly, the gap was slowly widening.
The Rich guy was already exhausted, pushed to his limit both physically and mentally.
He asked with an air of utter resignation, “Is it too late for me to go over and close the lid?”
Yun Youyou replied, “You can try.”
Of course, the Rich guy wasn’t actually going to try.
Whatever. Kill me or skin me, do what you want.
The Rich guy let out a heavy sigh.
“Sigh… I still have so much money left unspent. If I’d known, I would have spent more of it earlier.”
Yun Youyou whispered sneakily, “It’s okay. You can give all your money to me right now. I’ll let you experience the joy of spending it.”
The Rich guy replied, “Heh.”
Yun Youyou pulled her head back in disappointment.
The coffin lid slid open further and further.
Everyone held their breath, staring intently at the coffin in the middle of the room.
At this point, the Rich guy actually felt less afraid. The worst that could happen was death.
A youth sat up from within the coffin, messy black hair falling over his forehead.
He lazily brushed his hair back and turned his head to look at the group.
