Chapter 57

After returning to the familiar Instance, Yun Youyou and Ji Lin split up.

When she reached the nurse’s station, Yun Youyou realized there wasn’t a soul in sight.

Where had Nurse Fang gone?

“Nurse Fang? Nurse Fang?”

Yun Youyou called out a few times.

A weak voice finally drifted out from beneath the nurse’s station.

“Eh! I’m down here…”

Yun Youyou crouched down to look and said in surprise, “Nurse Fang, what are you doing hiding down there? You’re not trying to play hide-and-seek with me, are you?”

Fang Yu: …Play my ass!

But she was currently drained of all strength and was just waiting for Yun Youyou to lend her a helping hand.

Fang Yu struggled to crawl out from under the counter, stood up, and immediately pulled Yun Youyou into a tight hug.

Covered in snot and tears, she wailed at the top of her lungs, “Nurse Yun, you’re finally back! I missed you so much! How could you leave me all alone! Do you have any idea how scared I was!”

Yun Youyou was nearly hugged to the point of suffocation, and her mind felt like it couldn’t even process what was happening.

Why do I feel like a scumbag who abandoned his wife and kids?

Yun Youyou blinked blankly a few times. “What exactly happened?”

At the question, Fang Yu cried even harder.

Once she finished crying, she recounted everything that had happened since Yun Youyou left.

Somehow, the patients had found out that Yun Youyou had gone to another Instance.

Furthermore, the original Boss, Doctor Huang, had already been dealt with by Ji Lin.

With no one to restrain them, the psychiatric patients had simply let themselves go, running wild throughout the entire hospital.

Fang Yu couldn’t stop them by herself.

To prevent the patients from making trouble for her, she had no choice but to hide under the nurse’s station to seek temporary refuge.

“Nurse Yun, go stop them! You have to get revenge for me!”

Yun Youyou took Fang Yu’s hand. “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely get justice for you. We’ll go catch the patients together.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Fang Yu wrenched her hand away and “whoosh,” dove back under the nurse’s station.

“You can do it, Nurse Yun. I’m afraid I’ll just hold you back.”

Yun Youyou watched helplessly as Fang Yu played the shrinking turtle under the counter.

Was it a distortion of ghostly nature or a total collapse of morality that made Fang Yu this terrified?

It looked like Fang Yu was dead set on not getting involved.

Yun Youyou had no choice but to ask, “Do you know where they are now?”

Fang Yu shook her head.

Yun Youyou thought for a moment. “Is there a public address system in the hospital?”

Fang Yu: “There should be. There’s a Broadcast Room at the end of the corridor, but the door is usually locked.”

As long as it existed, it was fine. As for whether the door was locked or not, Yun Youyou didn’t see that as a problem.

She crouched down and whispered a few words into Fang Yu’s ear.

“Will that work?”

Fang Yu sounded a bit hesitant after listening.

Yun Youyou: “It has to work!”

“Alright then.”

Fang Yu finally agreed.

The two of them headed toward the Broadcast Room at the end of the corridor together.

Fang Yu tried tugging on the doorknob; as expected, it was locked.

“The door’s locked.”

Yun Youyou said calmly, “Let me try.”

Fang Yu glanced at Yun Youyou, her eyes filled with distrust.

“You don’t even have your Chainsaw with you. Can you do it?”

Yun Youyou didn’t say a word; she just threw a punch.

After a loud thud, nothing happened.

Fang Yu said knowingly, “See, I told you…”

Before she could finish her sentence, the door to the Broadcast Room fell inward with a thunderous crash.

Fang Yu: !!!
Her eyes widened as she stared at Yun Youyou in shock.

Having successfully pulled off a flex, Yun Youyou shook her hand with a look of indifference, hiding her merit and fame. This was the pinnacle of showmanship-the invisible flex was the most lethal.

Yun Youyou had already walked inside, but Fang Yu was still standing there dazed. It wasn’t until Yun Youyou began adjusting the broadcasting equipment that she finally snapped out of it.

This Broadcast Room had likely never been used since the start of the Instance; the buttons were covered in dust. Fortunately, the wiring hadn’t aged to the point of breaking. If the wires had snapped, that would have been a real problem.

The two of them spent a while tinkering with the equipment. Although they were both amateurs, it wasn’t particularly difficult, and they figured it out after some fiddling.

Once the broadcasting equipment was ready, Yun Youyou gave Fang Yu a look. Fang Yu stood before the microphone, feeling a bit nervous.

“Ahem, well… The following is an announcement! The following is an announcement.”

Yun Youyou specifically went out into the hallway to listen. After confirming she could hear the broadcast, she mouthed to Fang Yu, “Keep going.”

Fang Yu gripped the microphone. “In half an hour, we will be holding a brief meeting in the Activity Room. All escaped patients must attend on time! The sound of the broadcast reached every nook and cranny of the hospital.

Inside a ward, Wang Yuanyou and Ji Lin also heard the announcement.

“Escaped patients? No wonder it’s so quiet here. Turns out they all ran out to mess around,” Wang Yuanyou realized. The patients here certainly had some nerve.

“Let’s go.”

Ji Lin stood up and headed for the door.

Naturally, they weren’t the only ones who heard the broadcast. Several patients hiding in the Warehouse heard the voice as well.

“Straight!”

They were still sitting on the floor playing cards. One of them looked a bit worried. “That broadcast sounds like they’re calling us for a meeting. Should we go?”

“Go my ass! We’re not going!”

“Anyway, that Violent Woman nurse has already been transferred to another Instance, so she can’t control us anymore. Doctor Huang is nowhere to be found either. This hospital belongs to us now!”

The others thought this made perfect sense, so they continued playing cards without even lifting their butts off the ground.

Half an hour passed quickly.

“Time’s up.”

Fang Yu held an alarm clock, reminding Yun Youyou the moment the time was reached.

Yun Youyou leaned back in her chair and scanned the room. The vast Lounge held only a few scattered patients; the majority hadn’t shown up.

Yun Youyou stood up and cracked her knuckles. It was time to get down to business.

The patients nearby were so scared they were practically biting their nails. At this moment, they were incredibly grateful for their own choice. Who could have predicted that this terrifying Female Demon would return?!

Wang Yuanyou, never one to pass up a chance to see some action, said, “Let us lend you a hand!”

“Sure! I’ll leave it to you then,” Yun Youyou agreed readily.

“It’s no trouble at all!”

This was going to be way too much fun!

Yun Youyou gestured toward the microphone for Fang Yu. Fang Yu’s heart raced, her adrenaline surging. She felt a strange sense of excitement. Her voice was almost trembling as she spoke into the mic.

“The half-hour is up. Those patients who failed to attend on time, please prepare yourselves. Nurse Yun will now personally come to inquire about your situation. Please take care of yourselves. Just a friendly tip: due to your absence, Nurse Yun is not in a very good mood.”
