Chapter 139
Chapter 139
As Yun Youyou spoke, she slowly edged toward the crack in the space.
By the time she finished, her figure had vanished into the fissure.
When Yun Youyou opened her eyes again, she found herself in a classroom.
Quite a few ghosts were already seated inside.
A headless ghost, Water Ghost, and all sorts of others sat obediently in their seats, while blood dripped all over the floor.
Yun Youyou even spotted a ghost mother.
A hole had split open in the middle of her enormous belly, and a ghost baby was slowly crawling out of it, its long umbilical cord dangling in midair.
Yun Youyou took one look and hurriedly averted her gaze.
“Sister Yun, over here!”
Hearing a familiar voice, Yun Youyou turned around and saw two familiar ghosts.
Shamate and Red-haired Trendy Guy were actually here too.
Delighted to see ghosts she knew, Yun Youyou happily sat down in the seat behind them.
“What are you two doing here too?”
Shamate smoothed back his hair. “My performance was clearly flawless, but the Game insisted I didn’t meet the standard and threw me into this training camp.”
Red-haired Trendy Guy sighed as well.
“For a handsome guy like me, all that fighting and killing only damages my handsome image.”
After lamenting their fates, the two of them turned to Yun Youyou in unison and said together, “But Sister Yun, we’re not surprised at all to see you here.”
Yun Youyou: “…No. This is a misunderstanding you have about me.”
“Oh, right. Did you get a test paper when you came in?”
Shamate pulled a crumpled test paper from his desk.
On the stark white paper was a huge 60!
Red-haired Trendy Guy also took out his own test paper.
His was even worse. He had only gotten forty points.
Yun Youyou searched herself and, sure enough, found a test paper in her pants pocket.
“Here, take a look.”
Yun Youyou handed the paper to Shamate.
Shamate took one look, and his eyes nearly popped out.
“What! You actually got 100 points!”
His voice was so loud it nearly blasted through the roof, and every ghost in the classroom turned to look.
Red-haired Trendy Guy snatched the test paper from Shamate’s hand and carefully checked the score on it.
“It really is a hundred! Sister Yun, tell me the truth. Did you beat up the examiner?”
Yun Youyou said, “What nonsense are you talking about? How could I possibly beat up an examiner? Do I look like that kind of person?”
Shamate and Red-haired Trendy Guy said, “That’s right. You are.”
Yun Youyou: …
Another day, another hit to her reputation.
“Quiet, all of you!”
The classroom door was shoved open with a bang.
A One-horned Ghost King strode into the room.
He was unbelievably tall, with bulging muscles from head to toe. One of his arms alone was thicker than Yun Youyou’s entire ghostly body.
With every step he took, the floor trembled three times.
The One-horned Ghost King did not stop until he reached the very center of the podium.
Two streams of air blasted from his nostrils, leaving the ghosts seated in the middle row blown into complete disarray.
Yun Youyou secretly rejoiced.
Good thing she hadn’t sat in the middle.
The One-horned Ghost King’s face looked like a rakshasa mask painted with a brush. Just looking at him was enough to make a ghost’s legs go weak, and several of the more timid ghosts had already started trembling.
The One-horned Ghost King swept his gaze over everyone below.
“I am your teacher. Over the coming period, I will teach you how to become qualified ghosts. If any of you dare disobey my orders, I will use my fists to smash you into a pancake!”
It seemed this One-horned Ghost King really was not someone to mess with.
Just standing up on the podium was enough for Yun Youyou to feel a wave of pressure, along with the murderous aura rolling off the One-horned Ghost King.
“In my eyes, all of you are nothing but garbage. But since the Game handed this task to me, here we are. I heard someone among you scored a hundred on the entrance exam?”
The One-horned Ghost King’s sharp eyes swept through the classroom.
Yun Youyou pretended she hadn’t heard a thing and even deliberately shrank farther into her corner.
Everyone knew the tallest blade of grass was the first to be cut.
Even Shamate and Red-haired Trendy Guy scooted toward the middle, trying to block Yun Youyou, who was sitting behind them.
“It’s her! She’s the one who got a hundred!”
A shrill voice shattered the silence in the classroom.
Yun Youyou turned in surprise and saw that a Toilet Ghost had ratted her out.
One look at his sleazy face, and she knew he was no good.
Yun Youyou silently added this debt to her ledger.
The One-horned Ghost King shifted his oppressive gaze onto Yun Youyou.
“So you’re the one who got a hundred. Looks like you’re the fighter jet among this pile of trash. In that case, you’ll be the class monitor and take responsibility for recycling this garbage.”
Yun Youyou let out a breath of relief.
Thank goodness she only had to be class monitor. She wasn’t being asked to perform a live demonstration of tearing a ghost apart with her bare hands in front of everyone.
Having narrowly escaped disaster, Yun Youyou quickly returned to her seat.
The One-horned Ghost King wasted no time either.
“Split yourselves into groups first. Two to three per group. Next will be a team competition. Each group will be assigned one Player. You must do everything you can to scare the Player. The least frightening one will be deemed the loser, and the loser’s fate is to end up in my stomach.”
At that, everyone’s skin tightened.
Naturally, Yun Youyou, Shamate, and Red-haired Trendy Guy formed a group.
However, after the three ghosts briefly analyzed the situation, they realized their team was basically doomed to lose.
The other ghosts at least looked somewhat scary.
Headless ghosts, zombies-no matter what, they looked frightening at first glance.
Then look at the three of them.
Yun Youyou wore a T-shirt, oversized shorts, and flip-flops. As for Shamate and Red-haired Trendy Guy, that went without saying. At most, they could give someone rheumatism. How were they supposed to scare anyone to death?
Shamate helplessly cupped his face in his hands.
“I don’t want to end up in the One-horned Ghost King’s stomach. His stomach definitely stinks.”
Not a single ghost present wanted to go in there.
Yun Youyou could only force herself to rally. “Let’s hurry up and practice.”
The three of them stood together.
Yun Youyou put every ounce of effort she had into making the scariest ghost face possible.
Shamate and Red-haired Trendy Guy: “…Hahahahahahaha!!! So cute!”
Yun Youyou puffed out her cheeks in anger.
Next was Red-haired Trendy Guy’s turn.
He stretched out his claws and tried his hardest to make a terrifying expression.
Yun Youyou and Shamate: “…Hahahahahahaha!!! That’s hilarious!”
Red-haired Trendy Guy gave an angry huff.
One minute later, all three of them were squatting in the corner, utterly emo.
They had accepted reality.
At most, they could make someone die laughing. They could not scare someone to death.
As they squatted there, Shamate suddenly saw a glimmer of hope.
“Sister Yun, where’s your Chainsaw?!”
Yun Youyou said, “We came in too much of a rush. I forgot to bring it.”
The light instantly went out of Shamate’s eyes.
The three of them returned to their emo state.
Depressed, heartbroken-it was time for the ghostly version of a sad late-night playlist.
“Time’s up!”
