Normally, he would go straight upstairs to rest after eating. Tonight, he remained on the sofa and leisurely sipped tea.
He casually glanced to the side, set down his cup, and picked up a thin card.
“What did you eat for lunch?”
Wang Yi’an seemed to ask in passing.
Old Man Wang was watching television. When he heard the question, his entire body tensed, and his voice rose much higher than normal.
“Lunch? For lunch, I ate the salad my grandniece made. Nutritious, healthy, meat and vegetables all balanced together. Delicious!”

“I only want you to eat more healthily. Since there’s nothing at home and you refuse to hire a housekeeper, I’ll take you to eat at my Company from now on.”
Old Man Wang immediately refused. “No. I have to keep my grandniece company.”
Wang Yi’an glanced at Yun Youyou.
“Both of you can go. Will that work?”
The old man’s lips moved several times, but he ultimately found no objection.
“Fine. My grandniece doesn’t have a proper job anyway. You might as well find something for her at your Company.”
Wang Yi’an was even more helpless.
“Our Company can’t hire people on a whim.”
The old man immediately bristled, his beard practically standing on end.

“Useless” was written across the left side of his face and “contempt” across the right.
Wang Yi’an wanted to confiscate the old man’s internet access on the spot. He spent all day surfing online and learning the strangest things.
The old man said, “Save your useless excuses. I’m leaving this matter to you.”
His decision was final.
Wang Yi’an’s temples throbbed.
The problem troubled him so much that he never got around to asking anything else. He went upstairs with his brow tightly furrowed.
The old man leaned smugly against the sofa and watched television.
The villa now contained two melancholy people.
Yun Youyou sat by the window and sighed.
She had enjoyed the good life for only one day. Why did she have to become a corporate wage slave again?
The old man gloated nearby. “All right, stop looking so miserable. I’ll advance you ten thousand from your salary. Go buy some proper clothes for work.”
Looking at the loose, cheap clothes Yun Youyou wore, the old man found them utterly tasteless.
Not every woman was born loving to shop.

She rode the little electric scooter the old man had generously loaned her to a nearby mall.

“Apologize to me!”
She folded her arms and looked Yun Youyou up and down.
When she saw Yun Youyou’s stunning face, the malice in her eyes intensified.
Then she noticed Yun Youyou’s off-brand clothes, and her expression improved in a peculiar way. With smug disdain, she scoffed.
She took Yun Youyou for a woman relying on her beauty to visit the mall and fish for a rich man.
Yun Youyou could not believe she still had to put up with this nonsense after becoming a ghost.

Yun Youyou lifted her own chin even higher and used her superior height to look down at Su Manqing.
“Why should I apologize?”
Su Manqing regretted wearing flats for convenience today. At the crucial moment, she had no presence at all.
She lifted the designer bag on her arm. “Because you ran into me!”
The woman beside her joined in. “Apologize now, or you’ll regret it! Do you know who we are?”
Yun Youyou had no intention of indulging them. She gave them a contemptuous glance.
“You’re assholes.”
With that, she walked around them and prepared to leave.
“Stop right there!”
A shrill voice rang out behind her.
Su Manqing angrily blocked Yun Youyou’s path. “You dared to insult me! You’re not leaving until this is settled!”
Their confrontation had already drawn a crowd.
People stopped nearby and quietly discussed the progress of the argument.
Yun Youyou could not believe her bad luck. She had gone shopping and still encountered someone staging an accident.
She glanced at Su Manqing. “You want me to apologize, right?”
Seeing Yun Youyou give in, smug triumph immediately flashed through Su Manqing’s eyes.
“You hit someone. Of course you need to apologize.”
Yun Youyou readily agreed. “Fine.”
Su Manqing had not expected her to be so cooperative.
