Chapter 63
Chapter 63
The most eye-catching thing about him was his pants; the crotch was so long it practically dragged on the ground. When he turned around, half his buttocks were nearly exposed.
Very trendy-he was clearly going for that West Coast vibe.
Yun Youyou suffered from a phobia of trendiness; the moment she saw a trendsetter like this, she wanted to hide back in her room.
Birds of a feather flock together.
That saying really was true.
“Yo, yo, yo! Hey, beautiful, how about adding me on WeChat?”
The Red-haired Trendy Guy’s eyes lit up the moment he saw Yun Youyou. He rushed over excitedly and casually threw an arm around her shoulder.
Shamate: !!!
He was nearly scared to death.
Is this devil someone you can just put your arm around?!
You’re looking for a death wish, kid!
Before Yun Youyou could lose her temper, before the demon awakened…
Fearing his good bro would be torn to shreds, Shamate hurried forward and threw the arm off Yun Youyou’s shoulder.
“What are you doing, getting all touchy-feely? Where are your manners!”
Shamate glared at the Red-haired Trendy Guy.
The Red-haired Trendy Guy was bewildered. He laughed and said, “I’m a ghost. Why do I need manners?”
Suddenly, as if realizing something, he gave Shamate a mischievous pat on the shoulder.
“I get it! You’ve got great luck, kid, finding such a beautiful girlfriend!”
Shamate almost fell to his knees in front of his bro.
He declared with righteous indignation, “What nonsense are you talking about! Is a beautiful woman like Miss Yun-who is so intellectual, elegant, beautiful, generous, gentle, virtuous, quiet, peace-loving, and adored by all-someone a person like me could ever hope to be with?”
The Red-haired Trendy Guy was stunned as he listened.
Since when did his bro have so much self-awareness?
The Rich guy couldn’t take it anymore. He was tired after standing on the side for so long.
Why didn’t these Ghost NPCs have any professional ethics? They were all just standing around chatting during work hours.
“Hey, are you guys done talking yet? Can you give us a straight answer on what the arrangements are?”
The Red-haired Trendy Guy had a fiery temper. Upon hearing this, he immediately brandished his fist.
“Is it your place to speak? Keep yapping and see if I don’t beat you up!”
The Rich guy turned around, aimed his backside at the Red-haired Trendy Guy, and deliberately made a provocative face while slapping his own butt. In a mockingly annoying tone, he said, “Then come and hit me if you’ve got the guts!”
The crisp sound of him slapping his butt was audible to everyone present.
The Players behind him all silently took a few steps to the side.
How embarrassing. It was truly a disgrace to have such a shameful person among the Players.
“You!”
The Red-haired Trendy Guy was furious. He clenched his fists, about to charge forward and pummel him.
However, that cold female Player from before was faster. She raised her foot and delivered a heavy kick directly to the Rich guy’s large backside.
The Rich guy let out a miserable scream and stumbled forward, eventually landing face-first in the dirt.
“Ah! My butt! You woman, you’re way too violent!”
The Rich guy’s grumbling and shouting were ignored by everyone.
Su Yurou didn’t even spare him a glance.
She looked calmly at the Red-haired Trendy Guy. Her tone was cold but polite.
“My apologies. He’s not quite right in the head. Please don’t lower yourselves to his level.”
Seeing her like this, the Red-haired Trendy Guy felt it would be inappropriate to stay angry.
Even though he was a Shamate ghost, he was a gentlemanly Shamate ghost.
In the end, he just shook a fist at the Rich guy on the ground. “You better remember this, kid. If you do that again, I’ll steam you and eat you!”
The Tour Guide had said earlier that there were five Shopkeepers in total.
But counting Shamate and the Red-haired Trendy Guy, there were only three Shopkeepers present.
“Where are the other two Shopkeepers?”
Yun Youyou asked curiously.
“Those two ghosts have something wrong with their heads. One sleeps all day long and thinks he’s a Vampire. The other one’s even worse-he thinks he’s insanely awesome every day, claims he’s the leader of the Ghost Realm, and wants to lead all ghosts to the pinnacle of life.”
Yun Youyou thought to herself, *This Game can really collect a whole set of mentally abnormal ghosts. That’s impressive in its own way.*
Wait!
A horrifying thought flashed through Yun Youyou’s mind.
*Could it be… my brain isn’t normal either?*
The more she thought about it, the more terrifying it became. Yun Youyou didn’t dare continue and hurriedly cut off her train of thought.
“Since that’s the case, let’s draw lots to decide. It’s fair to everyone.”
Standing under the sun, Yun Youyou felt it was pretty scorching and kind of wanted to go back.
No one disagreed.
Yun Youyou glanced at the slips the Players had drawn.
At the same time, Rich Guy lifted his head to look at Yun Youyou.
The two of them quietly locked eyes for a moment.
Yun Youyou: “…”
Rich Guy: “…”
It must have been a special kind of fate that put them together.
Rich Guy patted his round belly and looked up.
“Youyou Restaurant? If it’s a restaurant, there should be a lot of good food, right?”
His stomach cooperated, growling a few times.
“How about we go in and eat first? We came early this morning-I’m already starving.”
Once he said it, everyone realized they were hungry.
Even the Red-haired Trendy Guy joined the fun. “Then let’s go in together and, while we’re at it, taste your girlfriend’s cooking!”
As soon as those words fell, Shamate jumped three feet in the air, like he couldn’t wait to cut ties with the Red-haired Trendy Guy on the spot.
“What are you talking about?! Didn’t I just say I’m not worthy of a gentle, graceful woman like Yun Youyou! What virtue do I have-what right-to be with her! How could we casually taste the dishes she cooks? Of course they must be set out as an altar offering first, then slowly savored. Only then can we show her proper respect!”
Red-haired Trendy Guy: “…Psycho.”
Before Yun Youyou could offer any opinion, the group had already charged into Youyou Restaurant.
Yun Youyou shrugged helplessly.
The restaurant wasn’t large. The main hall had four small tables.
Three ghosts plus five Players, and the place was packed the moment they went in.
Rich Guy was already studying the menu on the wall.
“Uh, start with one braised pork. Then one potato and beef brisket stew. Sweet-and-sour ribs too-and bring out all the fish and shrimp dishes.”
Faced with Rich Guy’s high-energy ordering, Yun Youyou replied with just two words.
“We don’t have that.”
Rich Guy: “What! You don’t have it? Then you at least have stir-fried seasonal vegetables, right?”
Yun Youyou: “We don’t have that either.”
“Curry chicken?”
“No.”
“Sichuan pepper duck?”
“No.”
Rich Guy blew up. “If you don’t have anything, why are you running a shop?!”
Yun Youyou said, “Who said I don’t have anything?”
Rich Guy demanded, “Then what do you have?”
Yun Youyou said, “Stir-fried instant noodles, curry instant noodles, instant noodles stewed with potatoes, braised instant noodles…”
Rich Guy fell silent for a moment. “So you don’t have a single dish that isn’t made with instant noodles?”
Yun Youyou said, “I do.”
Rich Guy waved his hand grandly. “Then bring me that.”
“Alright.”
Yun Youyou agreed readily and headed for the kitchen.
Rich Guy sat back leisurely on a stool.
Not even a minute later, Yun Youyou came out from the kitchen.
Rich Guy was startled. “That fast?”
The next second, a packet of pickled mustard tubers was tossed in front of Rich Guy.
“Here,” Yun Youyou said. “The dish you wanted is here.”
