“What about you? How did you get in?”

He approached as he spoke.
“D-Don’t come any closer! If you do, I’ll scream!”
The Butler stopped.
Just as the Second Young Master thought his threat had worked, the Butler began advancing again.
“Come any closer and I really will scream!”
The Second Young Master stumbled backward.
“What will you scream?”
A third voice abruptly appeared in the room.
The Butler and Second Young Master froze together.
They searched every corner but found no speaker.
“Look up.”
Both raised their heads and saw a security camera mounted in a corner of the ceiling.
The device could rotate a full three hundred and sixty degrees and even supported two-way audio.
Neither man had expected Yun Youyou to install a camera in her room.
Her voice came through its speaker.
“You’d both better give me a reasonable explanation for why you’re in my bedroom.”
The Butler answered smoothly, “I saw the Second Young Master enter Madam’s room. It seemed improper, so I came to investigate.”
The Second Young Master immediately glared at him.
What a convenient excuse. The Butler had clearly intended to seize this opportunity to kill him.

“Then why did you enter, Second Young Master?”
The Second Young Master silently removed an egg from his pocket. “Mother’s Day is coming. I prepared a surprise for you.”

He set the egg on the nightstand and turned toward the door.

The Second Young Master said, “Then why do you normally act as if nothing matters? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you came here on vacation!”
He ate and drank all day, showed no caution around anyone, and behaved like a sweet, harmless idiot.

Yun Youyou comforted him. “If necessary, I’ll pay for one for you too.”
He stormed away.
“Buy your own!”
He even slammed his shoulder into Shen Mingzhen, who had come over after hearing the commotion.

That evening, the Second Young Master suddenly began a hunger strike.
“I’m not eating!”
“Who knows whether the cook is human or ghost? What if he poisoned the food?”
The Butler did not grow angry at the veiled accusation.
