He set down his chopsticks, took a tissue, and wiped his mouth.
“I’ll go with you.”

“But you barely ate. Why don’t you have a little more first?”
Ji Lin did not even glance at the food on the table.
“I have no appetite when I’m alone.”

He turned to glance out the window.
It was over ninety degrees outside, with the sun blazing overhead. They would be lucky not to get heatstroke.
Yun Youyou pressed a hand to her forehead and whimpered, “Towel, my imperial head aches.”

Ji Lin finally sighed in resignation, picked up his car keys, and stood.
“Let’s go.”
The cool words drifted past Yun Youyou’s ear like heavenly music.
“Let’s be clear. I’m only driving. When you go inside, I’ll wait outside.”

Yun Youyou hugged Towel, her eyes curving into happy crescents.
“No problem!”
