Thanks. That had definitely scared him.

The ghost on the door remained unmoved and continued licking the glass.
“Are you ignoring me?” Qin Nan pretended to grow angry. “A man may be killed, but he cannot be humiliated. I’m coming out right now.” As he spoke, Qin Nan charged toward the door and deliberately pretended to open it. Then the door actually opened. Qin Nan froze abruptly, shut it again the next second, and added a heartfelt “Fuck.”
Excellent. The comedic effect was at its peak, earning them another wave of Popularity.
The female ghost finally seemed to notice Qin Nan’s movements, but she merely swept him with a contemptuous glance before leaving.
Qin Nan was not truly afraid of the female ghost.
Even if he was, he could not stay in this office forever.
So after the female ghost left, Qin Nan carefully opened the door and stepped out of the office.
At the same time, Mu Xin naturally saw the same bullet comments.
Now that she knew the door could be opened directly–
Mu Xin stopped what she was doing and muttered to herself, “Knowing this director and his tricks, the Script might be fake. Do we really need a key for this office door?”
As she spoke, she walked over to the door.
Then she tried it.
The door opened with ease.
Mu Xin gave a knowing smile. “I knew it. This director is devious.”
Mu Xin had also put on a convincing performance, earning another rise in Popularity along with a whole row of “Nailed it!” bullet comments.
All three of them had now left their offices.
From the information in the bullet comments, they had a rough idea of what was going on, so they switched on their flashlights and began searching for one another.
People might be hard to find, but lights were another matter.
Before long, the three of them met up.
Along the way, they also encountered two NPC cast members.
Those two had made it out of their offices as well. One of them had also received a genuine Script. As for the other two cast members who were still nowhere to be seen, one was probably still cowering beneath a desk after Jian Fan had frightened them, while the other was likely still hard at work searching for a key.
They knew they could not discuss anything unrelated to the variety show during filming, so having one more or one fewer NPC around made no difference to them.
This time, though, they went and found the other two NPCs first.
They might be NPCs, but they could still help create entertaining moments and boost Popularity.
Everything had its use. Not a single opportunity could be wasted.
And the NPCs did not disappoint. They might not have been particularly entertaining on their own, but when set against Qin Nan and the other two, the contrast produced a few laughs. Naturally, the trio successfully gained another wave of Popularity.
After earning some Popularity, all seven cast members finally gathered together.
Only then did their real escape-room challenge begin.
They were trapped inside the company.
Their first task was to unlock the company’s main entrance.
They all knew the password to the main door. That was not information from the Script; as employees, it would have been absurd for them not to know it. The problem was that the entire building had lost power, so knowing the password did them no good.
If they wanted to get out, the key was–electricity.
“Let’s look for batteries,” Qin Nan said simply.
An NPC immediately objected, “But none of us knows how to take apart an electronic lock. What if we break it and end up trapped in here forever? No, no.”
Qin Nan fell silent.
He suddenly regretted bringing these NPCs along.
Clearly, this group of NPCs was doing its utmost to hold them back.
After one of them spoke, another suggested, “Why don’t we just smash it?”
“You think you can?” Qin Nan asked, then added, “Go ahead and try.”
The NPC gave a huff. “Fine, I will.”
He grabbed a chair nearby and brought it straight down against the transparent door.
The chair quickly hit the floor with a tremendous crash, while the transparent door remained completely unmoved, without so much as the tiniest crack.
The NPC stared blankly.
Qin Nan rolled his eyes.
The bullet comments again filled with laughter, earning them another welcome rise in Popularity.
“Let’s look for batteries.” Mu Xin raised a hand and rubbed between her brows, evidently just as exasperated with these NPCs.
Whether her exasperation was genuine or an act, the attitude earned them another small boost in Popularity.
Qin Nan and the other two could not be bothered with these idiotic NPCs. They simply got to work themselves.
The Scripts they had seen really did say that the company’s main door should be opened by smashing it with a chair.
Qin Nan and Mu Xin were not fools.
But apparently, one of the NPCs was.
Jian Fan’s Script, meanwhile, told him to find batteries. His role was to hold the group back, so he had kept quiet. Besides, the solution was so simple that Qin Nan and Mu Xin could both figure it out.
If an electronic lock had no power, then change the batteries!
What the hell did a building-wide power outage have to do with an electronic lock? Its batteries had simply died.
