It wasn’t just for sleeping on. If it got cold at night, piling some grass or leaves over themselves would be better than nothing.

Lin Junruo had been listening intently to their conversation. Hearing this, her gaze swept across the bushes as she began to wonder if she could help. She should at least be able to handle pulling up some grass, right?

“I’m actually curious to see how Lu Jing is going to rig up a shelter that can keep out the wind and rain. I checked, and the Points Mall has tents. If it really comes down to it, we can pool our resources and trade for one. No matter how useful Points are, they aren’t worth more than our lives,” Qin Nan continued as he walked forward.

At this, Mu Xin suddenly turned to advise Lin Junruo. “Qin Nan reminded me of something. Every time you enter a new world, you should first check what’s available in the Points Mall. Walking in front, Qin Nan laughed after hearing her words. “Girls really are more meticulous. Jian Fan never tells me things like that. However, you can’t take things for granted sometimes. For example, the food in the Points Mall-it’s possible that the food isn’t meant to fill our bellies, but to lure away tigers or lions or something.”

Mu Xin let out a small laugh. “Don’t let his joking tone fool you; what he’s saying makes sense. Sometimes, our thinking is too conventional, which can lead to major misconceptions. We must be bold in our associations, but we also need to maintain a level of doubt toward things we feel certain about. This is being responsible for our own lives.”

Lin Junruo nodded repeatedly.

As they spoke, the four continued their trek forward.

After passing through the woods, they reached a mountain. It was quite high, so the four of them only circled around the base, but they did manage to find something.

They found a coconut tree at the foot of the mountain with quite a few coconuts growing on it.

Qin Nan estimated the height of the tree and suggested, “Should I climb up and grab one?”

While there was a high probability that it would be fine, there was no telling what kind of twisted ideas this damn Realm of Death would come up with. Qin Nan felt it was necessary to bring one back for Lu Jing to look at first. Once a professional like Lu Jing confirmed there was no problem, they could worry about the rest.

“We’ll pick them on the way back,” Jian Fan glanced at it and made a quick decision.

Qin Nan had no objections.

The four continued to explore other areas around the base of the mountain.

Whether it was bad luck or the entire island was just like this, after completing their circuit, they found nothing else of value besides that single coconut tree. Even then, that coconut tree was the only one of its kind they had seen.
Qin Nan was truly exasperated by the Realm of Death’s stinginess.

The coconut tree wasn’t tall, but for a professional shut-in who spent most of his time in air conditioning staring at a computer, it still posed a challenge. Fortunately, while difficult, he eventually managed to scramble up, though his posture was incredibly awkward.

Once Qin Nan reached the top, he let out a heavy sigh of relief. He picked the nearest coconut and dropped it straight down toward Jian Fan.

Jian Fan didn’t step forward to catch it; instead, he silently moved a few paces to the side. Only after the coconut hit the ground did he step forward to pick it up.

Qin Nan let out a huff.

“We can go now,” Jian Fan said calmly, not forgetting to urge Qin Nan along.

Qin Nan looked up at the leaves surrounding him and mused, “I think these leaves could be quite useful too. If we gather enough, we could use them as a blanket.”

Jian Fan actually took a look.

It was indeed possible. However, after glancing at Qin Nan, Jian Fan spoke in a flat tone: “Let’s head back first. It’s almost time.” Other tasks were better left to a professional-someone like Lu Jing.

Seeing Jian Fan’s insistence, Qin Nan nodded and cautiously climbed back down.

Once he hit the ground, the four of them began their trek back.

Because of the time spent picking the coconut, it was a few minutes past three by the time they reached the shore. The other Players had already gathered; only the four of them were missing.

Qin Weiyi was the first to notice the coconut in their hands.

“You went through all that just to pick this?” Qin Weiyi asked.

Qin Nan gave an affirmative grunt, then walked over to Lu Jing and handed the item over. “Lu Jing, take a look. There shouldn’t be anything wrong with this coconut, right?”

Lu Jing took it, but his expression was one of confusion. “How would I know?”

“Don’t you have to be careful about poisonous fruit in the wild?” Qin Nan asked, somewhat surprised.

Lu Jing looked even more surprised. “But that’s for fruits you’ve never seen before or ones that are known to be toxic. Everyone’s seen a coconut, right?”

Qin Nan: “…”

Jian Fan also looked slightly embarrassed.

It seemed they really had been a bit too cautious.

Lin Junruo blinked and asked, “But this is the Realm of Death.”

Lu Jing waved his hand. “If we’re talking about the Realm of Death, then asking me makes even less sense.”

That made sense. Lu Jing was an expert in wilderness survival, but when it came to the Realm of Death, he was probably more lost than she was.

Having said that, Lu Jing looked toward Qin Weiyi and smiled. “This is a good find. At least the drinking situation is temporarily solved. Until we find fresh water, we can rely on this to hold us over. Plus, the shell can be kept to use as a bowl.”

“What did you find on your end?” Qin Nan asked.

At the mention of this, Qin Weiyi shook his head. “Nothing particularly useful. I’m afraid the Realm of Death is aiming to make us consume our Points this time.”

By providing no resources at all, wasn’t the system just trying to force them to use their Points to exchange for items?
