Chapter 103
Chapter 103
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s creepy,” Qin Nan said, his skin crawling from the attention.
It wasn’t just Qin Weiyi staring; the others were also sizing Qin Nan up as if he were an alien.
Although Qin Nan felt a bit uneasy, since Jian Fan had said it, he decided to trust him this once. However, while he could understand the logic, being stared at like a gorilla in a zoo by a group of people was truly uncomfortable.
Qin Nan hadn’t undergone any visible changes.
His appearance and personality remained the same. Everyone looked him up and down, but no one could figure out what was different.
“I really can’t see it. Big Shots, did you find anything?” Yellow Hair was the first to ask.
Qi Shuping was also observing Qin Nan. She heard Yellow Hair’s question but didn’t respond; she hadn’t found any useful clues yet either.
Jian Fan and Qin Weiyi were in the same boat.
At that moment, Xia Zeqin suddenly moved forward. No one had noticed him until he was right beside Qin Nan.
“Qin Nan!” Mu Xin was the first to sense something was wrong and immediately shouted a warning.
Qin Nan had only just heard Mu Xin call his name and hadn’t had time to react before he suddenly lost his balance and fell backward.
Before anyone could anticipate it, Xia Zeqin had walked straight up to Qin Nan and pushed him off the rocky area. Behind him lay the countless, spreading Green Bubbles that could rapidly devour any living creature.
“Qin Nan!” Jian Fan’s expression changed drastically. He reached out to grab Qin Nan, but just as he was about to catch his hand, Xia Zeqin abruptly grabbed Jian Fan’s arm and pulled him back.
Everyone was stunned by this sudden turn of events.
“Xia Zeqin!” Jian Fan reflexively twisted Xia Zeqin’s arm to break free. He had no interest in wasting words; after shoving Xia Zeqin aside, he turned to check on Qin Nan. But when he looked, Jian Fan froze.
Everyone had thought Qin Nan was a goner. One second they were mourning his innocent sacrifice, and the next they were dumbfounded by the scene before them.
Once they processed what was happening, their shock turned to joy-and a sense of being caught between laughter and tears.
When Qin Nan realized he had been pushed by Xia Zeqin, he thought he was definitely dead.
As he struggled, he cursed Xia Zeqin at the top of his lungs. “Damn you, Xia Zeqin! You son of a bitch! You psycho!”
The others watched as Qin Nan lay atop the Green Bubbles, eyes squeezed shut, limbs flailing wildly as he continued his profanity-laced tirade. The sight was quite comical.
Yellow Hair was the first to burst out laughing.
Then came Lu Jing, Orange Hair…
Even Jian Fan’s lips curled into a slight smile.
Qin Nan naturally heard the laughter and was fuming.
Did these people have no humanity? He was dying, and they were laughing that hard? This was too much! After his initial anger, Qin Nan suddenly paused.
Wait, why could he still hear them laughing?
Qin Nan stopped struggling and opened his eyes.
He saw the same familiar blue sky. Shifting his gaze slightly, he saw the ten Players standing on the rocks not far away, all looking at him with smiles on their faces.
“Aren’t you getting up?” Xia Zeqin looked at Qin Nan and spoke.
Qin Nan blinked, then turned his head to look around. Realizing he was indeed sitting on top of the Green Bubbles, he jumped up in a fright and scrambled back onto the rocks.
“What’s the deal? You scared the life out of me.” Only after returning to Jian Fan’s side did Qin Nan finally feel a sense of security.
Qi Shuping began to smile. “It must be because you came into contact with the seawater before the Green Bubbles spread to the beach. That act must have given you an immunity to them. In other words, the Green Bubbles can devour us, but they won’t cause you any harm.”
Qin Nan lay back down and then stood up again; there wasn’t a single change to his body.
Jian Fan smiled and nodded. “You’re in luck.”
Qin Nan clearly hadn’t expected such a stroke of good fortune to fall into his lap. Since he wasn’t afraid of the Green Bubbles, didn’t that mean he could leave this place whenever he wanted?
He could even take Jian Fan and Mu Xin with him.
Wait…
The smile that had just appeared on Qin Nan’s face stiffened.
He looked at the ten other Game Players present besides himself and swallowed hard. “You guys aren’t thinking…”
“It’ll be hard work for you, young man,” Qi Shuping said with a smile.
Qin Nan: “…”
His luck wasn’t good at all!
Since the Green Bubbles couldn’t harm Qin Nan, he could leave this place. By the same token, could he also take the other Players out? With Qin Nan acting as a medium, as long as they didn’t touch the Green Bubbles, wouldn’t their lives be guaranteed?
Qin Nan wasn’t Lu Jing, after all. Carrying Jian Fan on his back, then taking Mu Xin, and at most taking Qin Weiyi and the others… running back and forth three or four times might barely work, but ten Players…
Qin Nan felt a massive headache coming on.
“There’s no need for all that trouble,” Jian Fan said, guessing Qin Nan’s thoughts.
Qin Nan immediately looked at Jian Fan. “What’s your plan?”
“The Green Bubbles are currently only spreading across the sand. They haven’t affected things like rocks or tree roots yet. You can go gather some and piece together a path,” Jian Fan explained to him.
Upon hearing this, Qin Nan nodded hurriedly. This would be much easier than carrying everyone out one by one, and it was safer for the others too.
After all, Qin Nan wasn’t Lu Jing.
If his strength suddenly gave out and he tripped, he would be fine, but their lives would be forfeit to these Green Bubbles.
“Take Qian Xing with you on your back,” Jian Fan added.
Qin Nan would be too slow on his own. Lu Jing wouldn’t leave Qin Weiyi’s side, and the reliability of Yellow Hair and Orange Hair was currently questionable. As for Xia Zeqin… Jian Fan remained equally skeptical of him. Meanwhile, Jian Fan himself needed to conserve his energy in case of any future accidents.
Qin Nan didn’t mind.
Qian Xing also quickly agreed.
Being able to leave this damned area was a great thing.
Now that they had a plan, Qin Nan and Qian Xing immediately sprang into action.
Qin Nan hoisted Qian Xing onto his back.
Fortunately, Qian Xing wasn’t too heavy. Although Qin Nan struggled a bit, he could still manage. He looked at the nearby vegetation zone, gritted his teeth, and charged straight out with Qian Xing on his back.
Qian Xing hadn’t expected Qin Nan to suddenly bolt.
He turned pale with fright.
To Qin Nan, walking on the Green Bubbles was like walking on flat ground, but to Qian Xing, looking down at the sea of green beneath them, those were things that could take his life.
Luckily, Qin Nan proved reliable.
He dashed out of the Green Bubbles zone in one breath and ran onto the grass. Only then did his strength fail him, and he dropped Qian Xing directly onto the ground.
Qian Xing cried out in pain, but that was immediately followed by joy.
Qian Xing scrambled up from the ground with a smile. “Qin Nan, you rest for a bit. I’ll go gather materials.”
Qin Nan was half-crouched, panting heavily. Hearing Qian Xing’s words, he gave him a wave of his hand.
