Chapter 186
Chapter 186
Lin Junruo was a little at a loss.
It felt as if she had guessed something, yet at the same time, she still didn’t quite understand.
Yellow Hair was walking right beside her. Seeing her like this, he sighed and reminded her, “Keep your guard up. Don’t trust other people too much.”
In the Realm of Death, the only person you could ever trust was yourself, because only you would never betray yourself.
Lin Junruo looked hesitant, but in the end, she still said “thank you” to Yellow Hair.
The atmosphere seemed to grow a little stagnant because of the topic.
Seeing this, Qin Nan chuckled a few times and said, “This place is pretty nice, actually. The greenhouse I saw just now was as big as an athletic field. Hey, how big do you think this garden has to be?”
“What did you say?” Jian Fan abruptly stopped and looked at Qin Nan.
Qin Nan was puzzled. “What?”
“How big was the greenhouse?” Jian Fan asked.
“About the size of a field with a four-hundred-meter track? I only glanced at it a few times, so it’s just a rough estimate. I can’t be sure,” Qin Nan replied.
Jian Fan’s gaze swept over their surroundings. “The space doesn’t add up.”
Qin Nan froze, not quite understanding what Jian Fan meant.
Qin Weiyi, however, understood.
“This place is large, but there’s no way it can fit a greenhouse that big. I observed the layout. Aside from this villa, there should be a row of simple little cottages in the back. Other than that, there’s only this garden. The greenhouse is in the garden, and this garden is probably only about the size of the field you mentioned.”
Qin Nan: “???”
“You’ve already figured out the whole area that quickly?” Yellow Hair exclaimed in amazement.
Qin Weiyi rubbed his forehead helplessly. “You two stayed on the third floor and didn’t go look around the other rooms? You didn’t go out through a window or balcony to take a look?”
Yellow Hair and Lin Junruo: “…”
They had been busy grinding experience.
Seeing the two of them fall silent, Qin Weiyi had to admit that he had asked a pointless question.
After walking through that passage and appearing inside this villa, he had started observing his surroundings. He had not inspected every room one by one, but had made a rough circuit inside, estimating the size of the villa. After that, he had observed the situation outside through the windows.
The room on the far left of the Second Floor had a corner balcony. From that balcony, he had gotten a general look at the area around the villa.
He had also seen the greenhouse at the time.
However, because of the angle, he had not been able to see everything clearly. Still, judging from what he had seen and adding a bit of inference, the greenhouse could be one or two hundred square meters at most. A four-hundred-meter track? Not a chance.
Since Qin Weiyi had checked things out from the Second Floor, then Jian Fan…
Qin Nan’s gaze fell on Jian Fan.
Jian Fan gave a soft “Mm.”
Clearly, he had also gotten a general idea of the outside situation through the first-floor windows.
Fine. The gap between people really was that huge. Besides, Qin Nan felt that since he had been inside the greenhouse at the time, it wasn’t strange that he hadn’t noticed this problem.
He spoke up and asked, “To the greenhouse?”
Jian Fan nodded.
The moment Qin Nan heard that, he immediately turned around and walked at the front, leading the group.
As Qin Nan walked toward the greenhouse, he recalled what it had been like when he was inside and said, “The greenhouse really was big. That much shouldn’t be wrong. As for what exactly the problem is, I don’t know. I didn’t notice anything off either.”
Jian Fan had not yet seen the greenhouse himself, so he could not respond to Qin Nan’s words.
Before long, the group returned to the greenhouse.
The door to the greenhouse wasn’t locked, and the group filed inside in a neat line.
The moment they entered, they were greeted by a sea of flowers. Lin Junruo’s face filled with amazement. “It’s so beautiful.”
Jian Fan swept his gaze over the greenhouse. Just as Qin Nan had said, this sea of flowers really was huge. And at a glance, there didn’t seem to be anything strange about it.
But many things never revealed themselves on the surface. If they wanted information, they would have to find it themselves.
Jian Fan didn’t say anything more and walked straight ahead.
The others followed behind him.
As they walked, they looked over the flowers and plants around them. Yellow Hair even reached out and touched a few. They were real flowers. It seemed like this was nothing more than a rather large greenhouse.
Jian Fan remained silent the entire time.
He walked all the way to the other end of the greenhouse.
Then he opened the door and stepped out.
Qin Nan was a little confused, but he followed him. The moment he stepped outside and saw the scene before him, he froze.
This… this… wasn’t this the same place they had ended up in after going through the other door?
It was exactly identical.
“Could it have been designed this way on purpose? Two places that look exactly the same?” Qin Nan asked, sounding uncertain.
Jian Fan was perfectly calm. “We’ll know once we test it.”
As he spoke, Jian Fan looked around, then carried over a stone from nearby and placed it right in the middle of the doorway. After that, he turned around, clearly intending to head back to the other door.
Qin Weiyi and the others had also come out by then.
When they saw what was outside, they all froze.
What was going on?
Jian Fan happened to turn back. Seeing Qin Weiyi and the others, he thought for a moment and said, “You stay here. Qin Nan, come with me.”
No one objected.
Jian Fan led Qin Nan straight ahead.
Qin Weiyi’s eyes followed the two of them the whole way, watching as they went directly from this door to the other door. Then, when they opened it and stepped out of the greenhouse-
“Holy shit!” Yellow Hair stood in the doorway, staring at Jian Fan and Qin Nan, who had suddenly appeared right in front of him, utterly dumbfounded.
Jian Fan tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Looks like we didn’t even need the marker.”
“What’s going on?” Lu Jing asked.
Qin Weiyi also frowned.
There shouldn’t have been any overlap or any other strange spatial structure inside the greenhouse. They had walked back and forth without running into any problems. But no matter which of the two doors in the greenhouse they opened, there was only one exit.
That was truly baffling.
Besides, what important information was hidden in the fact that two doors led to only one exit?
If someone said it was an irrelevant setting, even Lu Jing wouldn’t believe it. But if it was supposed to conceal some crucial clue, Qin Weiyi couldn’t make sense of it either.
He looked at Jian Fan.
Jian Fan shook his head.
He knew there was something wrong with the space, but as for what exactly was going on, he was just as clueless.
Seeing this, Qin Weiyi turned his gaze to Qin Nan and asked, “What do you think?”
Qin Nan was at a loss. He pointed at himself. “You’re asking me? You’re giving me way too much credit. If none of you can figure out what’s wrong, how would I know?”
“Don’t underestimate yourself.” Yellow Hair patted Qin Nan on the shoulder and said, “Use that brain of yours. Maybe you’ll surprise us.”
Qin Nan: “…”
“I’ve got nothing,” Qin Nan replied, utterly speechless.
Qin Weiyi didn’t seem disappointed. He merely sighed lightly. “Ah. Then it looks like this space isn’t an important clue after all.”
Qin Nan: “???”
Excuse me, how exactly did you reach that conclusion?
