Chapter 211
Chapter 211
The group headed toward the Ferris wheel.
Whatever the woman intended, she currently had no room to resist. She didn’t even dare strike rashly, because exposing herself would bring consequences far too severe for her to bear.
Once Yellow Hair knew she was temporarily safe, he couldn’t keep quiet.
“Hey, Sister, what should we call you?” he asked the woman ahead.
She ignored him completely.
Yellow Hair tried again. “Don’t be so cold, Sister. If we’re going to cooperate, shouldn’t we at least know your name?”
The woman was thoroughly annoyed.
After emerging from the passage, she had appeared in this amusement park and spent a long time searching it, finding neither clues nor another person.
When she finally encountered Shi Chen, she was delighted to see someone alive. She hadn’t intended to hurt him, but in the Realm of Death, her own lack of malice didn’t mean the other person was harmless.
Her first thought had therefore been to subdue him.
Who would have guessed–
The instant she moved, he ran.
That was fine. She would catch him eventually. The woman had complete confidence in her physical ability.
But somehow, the man climbed onto the Ferris wheel!
She was furious. No matter how capable she was, she couldn’t fly, so she had no choice but to leave for the time being.
She continued searching the park and eventually heard people talking. She approached cautiously, but before she could make out their conversation, someone detected her.
The woman: “…”
For a moment, she almost suspected her skills had deteriorated.
She decided it might have been a coincidence and prepared to stay hidden. But when Lu Jing picked up a rock to throw at her, she knew she had run into a formidable opponent and chose to reveal herself.
Fine. So she had been discovered. She could still negotiate an alliance.
The result of those negotiations was that she had been reduced to acting as their guide, forced to expose her back to her enemies.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had been in such an infuriatingly helpless position. And Yellow Hair would not stop babbling behind her. She wanted nothing more than to put a bullet through him.
Yet she couldn’t.
She even had to suppress her temper and answer him. “Yang Zhen.”
“Hello, Sister Yang.” Yellow Hair greeted her with shameless familiarity, then asked, “You’ve been searching this amusement park for so long. Find anything?”
Yang Zhen almost laughed from sheer anger.
They actually had the nerve to ask what she had discovered?
“No,” she replied coldly.
Yellow Hair immediately started again. “Sister Yang, that’s not how cooperation works. We have to share information, at least.”
Yang Zhen sneered. “You call this cooperation? By information sharing, do you mean I share everything with you?”
“You make us sound like terrible people.” Yellow Hair glanced at Jian Fan. Seeing no attempt to stop him, he continued.
“Fine, I’ll start us off.”
“The amusement park used to look brand-new and fully operational, but now it’s abandoned. You must have noticed that, Sister Yang. What we saw before was an illusion, and we were the ones who broke it.”
Yellow Hair sounded remarkably proud.
Jian Fan might have been the one who solved it, but saying *we* wasn’t wrong, was it? They had all helped in some fashion.
Yang Zhen was surprised.
Of course she had noticed the park’s bizarre transformation. Had this group truly caused it?
But she did not immediately believe Yellow Hair.
“I’ve led with something. Your turn to show a little sincerity, Sister Yang,” he said.
Yang Zhen lowered her eyes in thought.
He might be telling the truth. Cooperation would naturally be beneficial if it worked. If not…
After considering several possibilities, she said, “People died in this amusement park.”
Yellow Hair paused.
Jian Fan’s interest was caught too. Rather than question her directly, he briefly explained the illusion’s solution. “There’s a greenhouse in the park. The soil inside breaks the illusion.”
Yang Zhen’s lips curved. “Two people died.”
Jian Fan raised an eyebrow. This Yang Zhen was interesting.
“A romance card-collection game,” he said.
Yang Zhen paused. “What kind of game is that?”
She understood that he was identifying this as a romance card-collection game, but what exactly did the phrase mean? Yang Zhen was completely lost.
Jian Fan hadn’t expected the question.
Apparently, not every woman enjoyed or even knew about such games.
He looked at Lin Junruo.
She promptly explained, “It’s a game where one female lead romances multiple male leads. The game has cards depicting interactions between them, similar to the cards we drew at the start.”
Yang Zhen only half understood, but it was enough. The information looked important, yet might not actually be useful.
Her mind turned, and she quickly offered another fact. “One of the dead was a woman.”
Everyone: “???”
They could hardly believe she had split one piece of information into three installments. Was she going to reveal next that one victim was a man–or that both were women?
Even Jian Fan was amused.
He spoke again. “The backstory has five male leads.”
Yang Zhen: “…”
Now she had nothing to say.
She knew what a romance card-collection game was now, so naturally it had multiple male leads. Did it matter whether there were three, four, or five?
Still, she had no intention of changing her method.
“One man and one woman,” Yang Zhen replied.
Jian Fan immediately followed with, “Our skills can be upgraded.”
Yang Zhen was startled.
That was genuinely useful information. She grew suspicious again. Why would they tell her something so important?
Yang Zhen understood only the surface. She didn’t know the upgrade method was impossible for her to use now.
Ten Game Players remained: seven in their group, plus Shi Chen, Xia Zeqin, and Yang Zhen. Even if she found Xia Zeqin and cooperated with him, one perfect match would give her only fifty percent experience. She would also need Shi Chen’s help.
But it was obvious which side Shi Chen would choose. In truth, Jian Fan’s information was entirely useless to her.
Unfortunately, Yang Zhen didn’t know that.
Seeing such apparent sincerity from Jian Fan, she finally offered a more valuable detail. “Suicide.”
One man, one woman, an amusement park, suicide.
Jian Fan tried to connect those facts with what they had found in the villa.
Something was still missing.
So he continued.
“The cards can rank up too,” Jian Fan said.
Yang Zhen’s brows drew together.
“Husband and wife,” she replied, privately deflated. Why hadn’t she found any of these useful clues? Had her abilities truly deteriorated?
