Chapter 178
Chapter 178
There were quite a few things in the Points Mall.
All kinds of them, in fact-strange and bizarre in every possible way.
The first item listed was called the Strong-as-an-Ox Pill. It cost one hundred Points to redeem. After use, as the name suggested, it could increase one’s strength for twenty minutes. Redemption cooldown: three hours.
At first glance, this item seemed pretty useful. But when Qin Nan saw the tiny line of supplementary text that followed, the corner of his mouth twitched.
The degree of strength increase depends on the user’s original strength. The average increase is 30% of the user’s base strength.
If Lu Jing used this thing, it would probably be decent. But if Mu Xin or Lin Junruo used it, even with the boost, they would probably only barely match a man’s strength-maybe not even an average man’s.
Qin Nan continued looking down the list.
They were all skills that looked useful at first glance but were actually extremely situational.
Or rather, they depended entirely on luck.
There was another item on the list called Steal. It cost two hundred Points to redeem and could randomly draw one skill from the other eleven Players. Redemption cooldown: six hours.
Qin Nan couldn’t help thinking of his own skill.
Princess Carry. It could be used on other Players and make a Player float in the air for one minute. Cooldown: half an hour.
That skill sounded rather useless too. He wondered if the other Players’ skills were the same as his.
Before Qin Nan could figure anything out, more noise came from inside the flower room.
“What the hell?” Lu Jing had emerged in an exceptionally unfortunate spot. Right now, his entire body was standing in the middle of a pile of flowers. His luck was poor too-it just so happened to be a batch of thorny roses. With the slightest movement, the thorns stabbed straight into him.
Faced with the scene before him, Lu Jing was utterly bewildered.
When Qin Nan heard Lu Jing’s voice, he turned to look.
He looked at where he himself was standing-the path in the middle-then looked at Lu Jing, who was stuck in a pile of flowers.
For some reason, Qin Nan suddenly felt a little sorry for Lu Jing.
Lu Jing also spotted Qin Nan then, and joy appeared on his face. “Qin Nan!” As he spoke, Lu Jing quickly ran out of the flower bed.
“Man, am I glad to see you.” Lu Jing patted Qin Nan on the shoulder.
He had been walking alone the entire way here, and he had felt rather uneasy. He had no idea where Qin Weiyi was either. Now that he had seen Qin Nan, Lu Jing could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Qin Nan was also in a pretty good mood after seeing Lu Jing. This guy was basically a huge combat-power bug. With Lu Jing around, no matter what happened, he felt a little safer.
However, Qin Nan looked at the place where Lu Jing had appeared, thought for a moment, and said, “Should we wait a little longer?”
Lu Jing had appeared after him. What if more people came out later?
Lu Jing had no objections. Since Qin Nan had spoken, he casually nodded. “Sure, whatever. I’ll listen to you. Anyway, I can’t figure out these games.”
Qin Nan and Lu Jing quickly reached an agreement.
But even if they stayed here, they couldn’t just do nothing.
Qin Nan began surveying their surroundings.
This was a flower room, larger than any flower room Qin Nan had ever known. With a single sweep of his gaze, he estimated it was at least the size of an ordinary school’s track field-the kind with a four-hundred-meter running track. It was filled with all kinds of flowers: the roses that had stabbed Lu Jing just now, as well as lilies, small daisies, and so on. In short, there were flowers of every color, all gathered together, and they were actually quite beautiful.
The flowers were planted along the edges, with a path opened through the middle. At this moment, the two of them were standing on that path. Beside them were some flower racks, and on the racks sat many potted flowers. There were also green plants twining upward along the racks. Near the entrance were a few tools for watering flowers.
Qin Nan looked around for a long while before finally arriving at one conclusion.
This was a very large flower room.
Done.
Qin Nan swept his gaze around the area, but the flower room remained still. After a moment’s thought, he began walking around nearby.
The flowers were all clustered together, making some things hard to see. Maybe some clues were hidden between the blossoms.
Seeing Qin Nan start moving, Lu Jing followed along.
Qin Nan walked very slowly. By the time he had made a full circuit of the flower room, nearly half an hour had passed, yet he still hadn’t found anything. Nor had anyone else appeared in the flower room.
Even if the others were walking slowly, there was no way they still wouldn’t have shown up by now.
There should be another exit.
Qin Nan thought.
“Let’s go outside and look,” Qin Nan called to Lu Jing behind him.
Lu Jing nodded. “Okay.”
There were two doors at the front and back of the flower room. Qin Nan glanced at the one farther away from him, then silently chose the door not far in front of him instead.
The two of them left the flower room.
Outside was an elegant garden with a faintly classical feel. There were small bridges over flowing water, as well as artificial hills covered in creeping greenery. In the trees nearby, birds were chirping crisply. Not far from them was a river. From where they stood, there was no telling where it ended, but a small boat was moored by the bank.
Looking at the surroundings, Qin Nan felt even more lost.
What kind of world was this, exactly?
While Qin Nan was bewildered, the other Players were just as confused.
For example-Lin Junruo.
After making several choices at the forks in the passageway, Lin Junruo finally emerged from that corridor.
She appeared in a bedroom bursting with girlish charm.
The bedroom was huge. The first thing that drew the eye was a princess bed in the center, with a pink mosquito net hanging over it. Beside the bed was a vanity covered in cosmetics, while on the other side was an entire row of floor-to-ceiling windows. A soft white carpet covered the floor in front of the windows, with a small table on top. On one side of the table was a hanging basket chair, and on the other was a recliner. A cute plush doll sat on the chair.
Lin Junruo walked forward a few steps until she reached the window.
She looked out through the floor-to-ceiling glass.
Outside was a courtyard with flowers and trees, bridges and water.
It didn’t seem like there was anything strange about it.
Lin Junruo withdrew her gaze and continued examining the bedroom.
On the wall beside the floor-to-ceiling windows stood a transparent display cabinet. The cabinet was filled with an entire collection of blind box figures in all kinds of styles. Lin Junruo took one look, then silently tore her envious gaze away.
…
In short, it was a bedroom that made Lin Junruo extremely jealous.
But even after walking around, Lin Junruo couldn’t spot anything wrong. She looked around again, and in the end, her gaze landed on a small door off to the side.
Lin Junruo walked over, then opened it.
The moment the door opened, everything inside was laid bare. Lin Junruo’s face filled with amazement.
It was an enormous walk-in closet.
All kinds of clothes were sorted neatly by category. Two separate cabinets had been set aside and filled with jewelry, and there was even a dedicated area for shoes.
After her initial amazement, Lin Junruo scratched her head, feeling even more at a loss. What was this world supposed to be? And why was she still the only person here?
Still, judging by the environment, it really did seem like the style of a romance game.
After all, those card-character husbands had to be a little rich, right? But this room was obviously a girl’s at a glance. Could it be-the female lead’s?
Then this female lead was pretty loaded too.
All sorts of messy thoughts tumbled through Lin Junruo’s mind.
