Chapter 154
Chapter 154
“What do we do next?” Lu Jing was already itching to act.
Jian Fan glanced toward the door and said, “Wait.”
Wait for what?
Lu Jing was completely lost.
Jian Fan clearly had no intention of explaining. He simply picked up the remote control, holding the key in one hand and the remote in the other, then retreated to the side of the door.
Qin Nan and Qin Weiyi were the first to follow him.
Qin Weiyi did not forget to tell Lu Jing to move the table out of the way.
Lu Jing did as he was told.
“Lu Jing, you bring up the rear,” Jian Fan suddenly said.
Lu Jing nodded. Though he had no idea what they were about to do, listening to Jian Fan was never wrong.
“Before you leave, shut the door behind you,” Jian Fan reminded him again.
Lu Jing nodded again.
The frantic banging at the door continued. After a while, however, Zhao Yingguo seemed to finally give up. Following a brief moment of silence, the door on the bathroom side began to be rammed wildly instead.
Jian Fan seized the timing and shot Qin Nan a glance.
Qin Nan immediately understood. He opened the dorm room door and walked straight out without looking back. Qin Weiyi and the others instantly followed. Jian Fan, meanwhile, stayed to the side and began pressing the remote like mad, turning the volume up to its maximum.
Once that was done, Jian Fan shoved the remote into Lu Jing’s hand and said, “Smash the balcony.”
Lu Jing asked no questions. He took the remote and hurled it straight at the balcony.
The remote slammed heavily into the balcony door. Lu Jing was strong; although he did not shatter the glass door outright, it still produced a loud, solid crash. At the same time, Lu Jing had already withdrawn from the dorm room and pulled the door firmly shut.
By the time Lu Jing finished all this and turned around, Qin Nan and the others had already reached the iron gate.
Jian Fan had also rushed over to the iron gate.
He had not handed the key to anyone else. It was not because he did not trust them, but because among this group, the only ones who could remain completely calm in a moment like this and unlock the gate as quickly as possible were Lu Jing and himself.
Lu Jing had to cover the rear, so Jian Fan took the job of unlocking the gate himself.
Jian Fan moved quickly and soon opened it. Once the gate was open, he stepped through at once, but after leaving the iron gate, he did not immediately move on. Instead, he walked to the side.
Qin Nan and the others followed closely out through the iron gate.
Seeing that Jian Fan had not moved, none of them left right away either.
Only after Lu Jing shut the door and charged over to them did Jian Fan lock the iron gate again once Lu Jing was through.
When Qin Nan saw what Jian Fan was doing, his brow twitched. “We’re not going to worry about Xia Zeqin?”
Jian Fan’s motion of locking the gate paused, but only for a moment before he continued. After he finished locking it, he put the key away and said, “We should be more worried about ourselves.”
Qin Nan was at a loss.
Jian Fan, however, had no intention of explaining. He had already taken the lead and headed downstairs. The moment Jian Fan moved, Qin Nan reined in his thoughts, and the entire group immediately followed.
And at that very moment-
In the dormitory supervisor’s room.
The sound of the remote hitting the glass instantly drew Zhao Yingguo’s attention. Soon, the noise from the bathroom disappeared, and she abruptly appeared outside the glass balcony door.
As Qin Nan and the others left, they inevitably made some noise despite being as careful as possible. But compared to the television blasting at maximum volume inside the dormitory supervisor’s room, those sounds were not worth mentioning at all.
Zhao Yingguo had been completely drawn in by the sound coming from the television.
No one knew how many times she rammed into it, but in the end, the glass balcony door shattered. Zhao Yingguo turned into a mass of Red Mist and entered the room. Then, in front of the television, the Red Mist condensed into a human shape.
Zhao Yingguo listened to the sounds coming from the television, and the smile on her face gradually faded.
She seemed to understand what they were.
Slowly, two trails of bloody tears flowed from her eyes.
Jian Fan and the others had no idea what was happening up there.
They had already gone downstairs.
There was an iron gate on the Stairs below as well, but it wasn’t locked. They ran all the way down to the bottom in one breath.
But once they reached the first floor, the final dormitory entrance stopped them, trapping them inside the dorm again.
Although they had known it wouldn’t end that easily, Yellow Hair still couldn’t help spitting when they were blocked.
This was so damn annoying.
“What now?” Yellow Hair immediately turned to Jian Fan.
Jian Fan didn’t have a clear idea either. His gaze swept over their surroundings one by one while his mind worked quickly.
They had started on the sixth floor. There were still five floors below. If they wanted to search for clues, going floor by floor would take far too long, and he couldn’t be sure whether Zhao Yingguo could pass through the iron gates.
After all, those iron gates weren’t completely sealed. If Zhao Yingguo turned into Red Mist, she should be able to slip through. In that case, if they rashly ran around searching for clues, they might very well become Zhao Yingguo’s prey anyway.
But if they didn’t search for clues, all they could do now was stand here, still trapped inside the dormitory.
Jian Fan rubbed his fingertips together slightly, then quickly made a decision. “Find the dormitory supervisor’s room.”
There were too many student dorm rooms. Trying to find one connected to Zhao Yingguo would be too troublesome. The time spent and the possible reward simply didn’t balance out. In the dormitory supervisor’s room, however, they should have an easier time finding the clues they wanted.
No one objected.
Since they had already come down to the first floor, they might as well start looking for the dormitory supervisor’s room there.
But…
“Does every floor have a dormitory supervisor’s room?” Lin Junruo asked, puzzled. She thought back to her own university days. Back then, a dorm building usually had only one or two dormitory aunties, and they lived on the first floor.
But this place… had one on every floor?
Wasn’t that a little extravagant?
“Not sure. Maybe,” Jian Fan replied.
No one knew the rules of this setting, but the sixth floor had indeed had a dormitory supervisor’s room. Whether it was the only one, Jian Fan couldn’t be certain. They would have to search before they could know.
Lin Junruo realized she had asked a pointless question, so she simply fell silent.
Considering that this Escape Room still had a big boss lurking around, the group decided, for safety’s sake, to stick together. It would take a little more time, but at least it would be safer.
Finding the dormitory supervisor’s room was simple enough.
If the group walked one circuit around the Corridor, they would basically have an idea.
And this time, they didn’t need to walk for long, because the first-floor dormitory supervisor’s room was not far from the entrance of the dormitory building.
Unfortunately, the door to the dormitory supervisor’s room was locked.
Fortunately, just like on the sixth floor, Jian Fan still found the key near the dormitory supervisor’s room. This time, it was under the small doormat outside the door.
Jian Fan unlocked the door.
The group entered the dormitory supervisor’s room.
Just in case, after opening the door this time, Jian Fan removed the key. Once everyone had entered, he first closed the door, then quickly glanced over the balcony and bathroom. Seeing nothing strange, he shut those doors as well.
He had to guard against Zhao Yingguo appearing.
After finishing all that, Jian Fan finally began to look around the room. Then he said, “Search.”
