The man who had been laughing suddenly clutched his throat. It looked as if something was trying to burrow its way out from inside.
Then his mouth was slowly forced open. A hand reached out from between his lips, followed by another. The two hands grabbed his upper and lower teeth and began pulling them apart, inch by inch.
Tears of pain streamed down the man’s face, but he couldn’t stop whatever was inside his mouth.
Slowly, that thing crawled out.
It was a monster, ghastly pale from head to toe. Its limbs were twisted and crooked like tree branches, and its face was hideously ugly.
Yet when Jiang Yuan looked at the monster, there was no disgust in her eyes at all. Instead, they were filled with tenderness.
“Welcome, my child!”
Jiang Yuan jumped straight down from the second floor. The monster rose from the ground, while the man had already been reduced to nothing but a sheet of skin.
The monster stood more than three meters tall, its body as thin as a bamboo pole.
Jiang Yuan raised both hands and said to the monster, “Come now, child. Call me Mom-”
“Crunch!”
The monster suddenly lowered its head and swallowed Jiang Yuan whole. A series of crunching, chewing sounds followed.
After it finished eating, the monster threw back its head and let out a long howl. But moments later, a pink aura began to seep from its body. It clutched its head in agony and wailed at the top of its lungs.
After a while, the wailing stopped. It knelt respectfully on the ground.
In front of it, strands of pink aura gathered together and re-formed into Jiang Yuan.
Jiang Yuan stroked the monster’s chin as if she were petting a puppy.
“Good boy. Be obedient.”
Just then, a boy in a school uniform walked over.
“Miss Jiang, that Liu Ye has arrived at the East Campus.”
“Heh. He finally came,” Jiang Yuan said with a smile.

“No, don’t do this. How can you play with knives at school?” Liu Ye said anxiously.

Before he could finish, he saw Liu Ye pull out a Hunting Rifle.
The thug: “…”
Everyone else: “…”
You’re way worse, damn it!!! What decent person brings a Hunting Rifle to school?! This isn’t Meilijia!!!
Liu Ye looked absolutely heartbroken as he said, “Student, how can you play with knives? We live in the age of firearms now. Cold weapons have already withdrawn from the mainstream market. If you keep this up, you’ll be eliminated by the times!”

“Just a few days ago, by the school lake. Where did you go? Your sister was looking everywhere for you and said you’d gone missing. Hurry up and contact her.”
Jiang Yuan immediately sent people to look for her sister. But to her horror, her subordinates reported that there was no such person at the school-not even the class her sister was supposed to be in!
