[Description: A certain Fiend is frantically searching the village for its beloved gun.]
Items in this world were categorized into grades: Remnant Soul, Ghost, Fierce Ghost, Malignant Ghost, Red-Clad, and Terror.
These items were commonly known as Fiendish Items. Under specific circumstances, they could even transform into Fiends themselves.
The driver looked at the pathetic little knife in his hand-it was merely a Remnant Soul-grade Fiendish Item-and then at the gun in Liu Ye’s hands.
He silently put the knife away and reached out to press a button on the speaker.
“Good luck is coming to you~ May good luck be with you…”
Liu Ye turned his head in surprise.
“Big brother, why did you change the song?”
“I got tired of the last one,” the driver muttered gloomily.
“Oh, right. You were just saying your wife cheated on you. What happened next?”
“I forgave her.”
Liu Ye: “…”
Wait, that was a sudden twist. This guy was a real man, huh? To be that magnanimous?
After speaking, the driver kept one eye on the road and the other on the hunting rifle in Liu Ye’s hands.
“Little… little brother, why are you carrying a gun around while traveling?”
“Oh, my uncle said that when you’re out and about, you’ll inevitably run into danger, so I should bring a gun for self-defense.”
The driver: “…”
“Little brother, we live in a society ruled by law now. You aren’t allowed to carry guns.”
“Huh? Is that so? Then… then what should I do?”
Liu Ye panicked slightly. He was a law-abiding citizen; he wouldn’t do anything illegal.
“How about this? Give it to me, and I’ll dispose of it for you,” the driver said cautiously.
If he could get his hands on that gun, his strength would skyrocket.
“Okay!”
Liu Ye hurriedly handed the gun over. Then, he said sincerely, “Thank you, big brother. You’re such a good person.”
“Heh heh!”
Once the driver had the gun, his heart filled with wild joy. He stole a glance at Liu Ye, thinking to himself:
*Kid, it’s your own fault for being so stupid. Now that I have your gun, I’ll make sure your death is extra painful later.*
With that thought, he set the gun aside. He certainly wouldn’t use a gun to deal with a mere human. Besides, this little brat had made his life miserable; he had to teach him a lesson personally. He picked up his knife again and whipped around, only to see Liu Ye pulling out two Fiendish Grenades.
*Screech!*
The car came to another sudden, jarring halt.
Liu Ye’s body jerked forward violently. Fortunately, the seatbelt held him back, preventing him from hitting the dashboard.
“Big brother, you really need to work on your driving skills.”
Liu Ye said, grimacing. But after speaking, he realized there was no response.
He turned his head in confusion and saw the driver slumped over the steering wheel.
“Big brother, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing… I just… caught a stitch in my side.”
The driver waved a hand while slumped over. The knife in his left hand was currently buried directly in his own kidney.
“Ah! You’re bleeding!”
“It’s fine… it’s just tomato juice.”
At that moment, the driver was weeping silently in his heart. *Damn it, this guy is a hardened bandit!*
It was obvious that those two grenades were also Fiendish Items. And high-level ones at that.
He just couldn’t understand how a human had managed to get his hands on so many high-grade Fiendish Items.
He sniffled and looked up, only to see Liu Ye pulling on the safety ring.
“Stop!”
The driver lunged forward and grabbed Liu Ye’s hand.
“Look, what kind of grudge do we have? If you want a Fiendish Item or something else, just say the word! There’s no need to go as far as mutual destruction, right?” the driver pleaded, tears streaming down his face.
Liu Ye froze for a moment before a look of realization dawned on him.
“Big brother, you’ve misunderstood. This is just liquor.”
As he spoke, Liu Ye pulled the pin. Sure enough, the Grenade didn’t explode. Liu Ye took a swig, and a look of pure satisfaction immediately spread across his face.
When the driver saw Liu Ye drink the liquor, a burst of white light radiated from the young man’s body. He could feel Liu Ye’s aura becoming significantly more powerful.
The driver’s eyes lit up. This was good stuff.
“Here, big brother, you have one too. I’m going to go use the restroom first.”
Liu Ye handed a bottle to the driver and stepped out of the car.
The driver took the Grenade and examined it in his hands, clicking his tongue in wonder.
*These manufacturers nowadays really know what they’re doing. Look at how they made this thing. It feels like a grenade, it looks like a grenade. Even the pin feels like-*
“BOOM!!!”
Liu Ye had just unzipped his pants when a massive explosion thundered behind him.
He nearly jumped out of his skin. Hurriedly pulling his pants back up, he rushed back to the scene.
When he arrived, he saw the driver sitting on the ground, clutching the steering wheel. A single tire was still rolling nearby.
Seeing Liu Ye, the driver opened his mouth and exhaled a puff of black smoke. His lips trembled.
“Waaaah… My car… twenty years of accumulated yin energy to build this car… and it’s gone! Waaaah…”
“Wait, big brother, how did this happen? Where’s the car?” Liu Ye asked anxiously.
The driver looked at him with tear-filled eyes.
“What do you think?!”
Liu Ye was stunned again. What was that supposed to mean?
“Look, big brother, this has nothing to do with me. I didn’t do anything!”
Then, Liu Ye added cautiously, “Brother, let me tell you, it’s okay to have stress, but maybe find a different way to blow off steam? Blowing up your own car is… well, it’s a bit expensive.”
He had heard that city people lived under a lot of pressure and liked to do extreme sports to cope.
It made sense, actually. This guy’s wife was cheating on him, yet he had to drive to earn money for her to spend. While she and the other guy were ‘driving’ in bed, he had to drive on the highway. How could he not be stressed? It was understandable that he had his own little quirks.
The driver stared at Liu Ye in shock.
“So it’s not your fault, it’s mine? I just couldn’t take it anymore, so I blew up my own car just to give you a show?”
“Well, I wouldn’t rule it out.”
“I’ll ******** you!”
The driver looked around frantically, then grabbed the Hunting Rifle lying nearby, intending to give Liu Ye a piece of his mind.
Seeing this, Liu Ye quickly stepped forward and snatched the gun away.
“Big brother, don’t be like this! No hurdle in life is insurmountable! You can’t commit suicide over a car!” Liu Ye said frantically.
He quickly shoved the gun toward his bundle. As soon as the gun touched the bundle, it turned into a small toy, which Liu Ye tossed inside.
He had taken this bundle from the Village Chief Grandpa. When he had entered the chief’s house, it had been sitting right there on the cabinet. It was obvious the chief wanted to give it to him but was too embarrassed to say it out loud. Liu Ye knew the Village Chief was a stubborn old man, so he had just taken it himself.
Black Cow Village.
A group of Fiends were currently holding back the Village Chief, who was trying to hang himself.
“Chief! Chief! No hurdle in life is insurmountable! Don’t do anything rash! Chief!”
