Chapter 37
Chapter 37
John did not consider himself particularly strong, so he approached every action with extreme caution.
Take the hospital they had chosen, for instance.
This hospital had been built by his own family, specifically to serve members of that family.
And after his parents died, it served him alone.
That was why he had deliberately given every doctor and nurse the day off, then installed monitors throughout the hospital.
After all, those people had already ambushed Xie Baoguo during the day. He did not believe for a second that they would let the rest of them go.
So he had made a few small preparations in advance.
Of course, John had not told Liu Ye and the others about any of this.
As far as the others were concerned, he saw no need to let them know. As for Liu Ye, he assumed these measures were child’s play in Liu Ye’s eyes.
In John’s mind, Liu Ye must have already guessed that someone would come, which was why he had deliberately pretended to sleep and act as bait, all to coordinate with John’s plan.
Such perfect tacit cooperation made John feel absolutely wonderful.
So, much of the time, you should not look at what a person says. You should look at what they do.
Liu Ye: “Zzzzz…”

In his sleep, Liu Ye felt as if a mosquito were buzzing by his ear. Irritated, he waved a hand, then sank sweetly back into dreamland.
Over on John’s side, he stared unblinkingly at the monitor.
Miss Zhang’s long neck was coiled around his body as she said plaintively, “What’s so interesting about that? Yuelang, look at me!”
“Stop messing around.”
John’s eyes remained fixed on the monitor.
“Stop watching, Yuelang. There’s no one on the monitor,” Miss Zhang said unwillingly.
John’s expression, however, turned grave.
“No… They’ve already infiltrated us.”
…
Ten minutes later, somewhere outside the hospital, a man chewed gum as he said, “Boss, all the surveillance cameras have been handled. Guaranteed flawless.”
“Good. Leave the rest to us.”
The man hung up the phone and tossed it aside, then stretched comfortably.
“Mmm… Where should I go have fun after this job is done?” the man said.
“I’m afraid you won’t have that chance.”
A voice rang out behind him. He jolted in alarm and hurriedly turned around, but in the next instant, a streak of silver flashed by, and his head dropped to the ground.
Standing behind him, John expressionlessly wiped the blood from his knife, then began operating the other man’s computer.
“Yuelang… how did you know the surveillance feed had been hacked?” Miss Zhang asked in surprise.
“Simple. I never believed those guys would let themselves be caught on camera, so I hacked the surveillance in advance and changed the timestamp.”
John had never counted on the surveillance footage in the first place, so he had a hacker set the time to the previous night. But just now, the timestamp had suddenly switched back to today’s date, so he immediately knew someone had broken in.
He also hadn’t gone straight after those people. Instead, he had come to their base first, intending to look up their information.
Fortunately, the other side seemed extremely confident. They had only left one person here, which made his job much easier.
…
After a quick search, and using the information from the man on the floor, he managed to dig up some data.
“The Illuminati!”
John was no stranger to that name. In the Fiendish World, it was an extremely powerful organization. Its members were formidable as well, and it even had several super high-level veteran players.
However, the organization was incredibly mysterious. Back then, out of curiosity, he had investigated them once, only for every person he sent to disappear. It had nearly exposed his own information.
From then on, he had never looked into them again.
He didn’t dare dig too deeply now. He only pulled up the list of personnel assigned to this mission.
The moment he saw the names on it, John’s pupils contracted. He had spotted at least four high-level players, and any one of them was far higher level than he was.
“This is going to be difficult.”
John bit at his finger. Miss Zhang, on the other hand, called out uneasily, “What’s difficult about it? Hurry up and run! There’s no way we’re a match for people like that. Even if Liu Ye is strong, he definitely can’t beat them.”
Indeed, the safest choice right now was to flee immediately. That way, they might still survive.
But the moment he thought of Liu Ye inside…
His confidence immediately surged. So what if the other side had four high-level players? With Liu Ye here, there was absolutely no problem. In fact, maybe Liu Ye had already anticipated this exact situation.
With that thought, he ignored Miss Zhang’s attempts to stop him and returned to the hospital.
Inside the hospital, four people were walking down the corridor. Among them was an old acquaintance-none other than Xiaoshuai.
Only, his expression looked terrible right now.
“I mean, with the three of us here, what are you so scared of? Those three Fiends haven’t made a move either. And even if all three of them were here, we still wouldn’t be afraid of him.”
The speaker was a man dressed like a thug. He was a Professional Purifier under the Illuminati-the Star of Extreme Evil, Oda Nobumaru.
But even after hearing that, Xiaoshuai’s face remained extremely grim.
“You don’t understand that man at all!”
The moment Xiaoshuai thought back to that scene, waves of agitation surged through his heart.
“That guy is unbelievably powerful, his personality is incredibly sinister, and his intelligence is simply the highest of anyone I’ve ever met.”
Xiaoshuai spoke with absolute certainty.
“Hey, hey, isn’t that a bit exaggerated?” Oda Nobumaru said skeptically.
“Of course not!”
Xiaoshuai answered without the slightest hesitation.
He himself was already the most outstanding person in the world. For that guy to have outmaneuvered him, didn’t that mean he was terrifyingly outstanding?
How could such a terrifying person exist in this world? Just thinking about it made him tremble.
“That’s why I don’t approve of this operation. If you want to deal with him, you have to be prepared to sacrifice the entire Illuminati.”
Xiaoshuai said.
