Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Liu Ye lay on the tattoo table. Beside him, the tattoo artist confirmed one more time.
“Are you absolutely sure about this?”
“That’s right. Just ink it. Start with Lord Guan with his eyes open, then add Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin. On each dragon, put Nezha Wreaking Havoc in the Sea. On the left arm, put the Great Sage Equal to Heaven Raising Havoc in Heaven. On the right arm, put Wen Zhong Opening His Heavenly Eye!”
The driver shouted in excitement.
Tattoo artist: “…”
Was this supposed to be a tattoo? This was practically an attempt to get him canonized as a god!
Still, there was nothing he could do. If the client wanted it, he wasn’t about to turn away business. Besides, with a project like this, it was a huge job.
So the tattoo artist took out the pigments he had treasured for years and began tattooing Liu Ye.
He had to admit, the man’s skills were genuinely impressive. He worked fast and well, and in just one day, he finished tattooing Lord Guan with his eyes open.
After it was done, the two of them agreed to continue Liu Ye’s tattoos the next day.
“Bro, how do you feel?” the driver asked, looking at Liu Ye expectantly.
“Hmm… It hurts a little,” Liu Ye said honestly.
Yes! It worked!
The driver excitedly flailed through a set of wild, clumsy punches. Liu Ye looked at him in confusion, not understanding what he was so excited about.
It had hurt a little right after the tattoo was finished, but now… it actually felt pretty comfortable.
After they returned home, the driver flashed an OK sign at the Old Man and the Shadow Fiend.
The two Fiends could not help getting excited. It worked! Since it worked, what was a few more days of putting up with him?
That night, they gathered in the basement to celebrate.
But just then, several uninvited guests arrived outside the apartment building.
“This is the place,” Xiaoshuai said, looking at the apartment.
During the previous mission in the Fiendish World, he had fled right after injecting Steward Wang with the drug, so he had no idea what happened afterward.
But he did know that those people had completed the mission.
Although he had no idea how they had pulled it off, now that he knew Liu Ye’s information, there was no way he would not seize this opportunity.
After all, that kid had looked pretty strong, so Xiaoshuai had deliberately brought along the elites from the organization.
There were three of them in total. They were named after the Twelve Zodiacs: Maotu, Yinhu, and Haizhu.
“Brother Kong, he’s just one guy. Did we really need all four of us to come? Aren’t you giving him too much credit?” Yinhu said unhappily.
“Don’t underestimate him. That guy has some ability.”
Thinking back to Liu Ye’s performance in the mission world, Xiaoshuai did not dare look down on him.
“All right, all right. Let’s hurry up and get this over with. I’m going out with my friends tonight,” Maotu said, holding a game console in her hands. She chewed gum and blew a big bubble.
“Maotu, why don’t you come hang out with me tonight? What’s the point of playing around with those little brats?”
Haizhu leered as he looked Maotu up and down. He had to admit, Maotu was extremely beautiful. She had a tall, slender figure, with a tiny camisole on top and a pair of hot denim shorts on the bottom that showed off her long legs. No matter how you looked at her, she was eye-catching.
Haizhu, by contrast, was not pleasant to look at. He was fat, easily over three hundred pounds at a glance. There were only a few strands of hair left on top of his head, and worst of all, his expression was exceedingly vulgar, making him look especially disgusting.
“Get lost!”
Maotu shot him a look of disgust, then turned her head away.
Haizhu did not care about being cursed at. Instead, he smiled and rubbed his mouth.
“Enough. Stop wasting time. Move out. Kill everyone in the apartment you can. Don’t leave any clues behind.”
“Got it,” Maotu said impatiently.
With that, the group scattered and entered the apartment from different directions.
The moment they entered the apartment building, Old Man noticed them.
Seeing several people come in, Old Man was immediately surprised. He looked at the driver and asked, “Did you order takeout?”
“No?”
“Then why are people coming in?” Old Man took out his tablet and checked. The newcomers all seemed to be heading toward Liu Ye’s room.
Their target was obviously Liu Ye.
“Looks like that brat’s gotten himself into trouble. Seriously, now we have to clean up his mess for him,” Shadow Fiend said, speechless.
“That’s fine. Perfect time for a little meat.” Old Man grinned and opened his mouth, revealing rows of savage teeth.
After Yinhu entered the apartment building, he immediately sensed something was wrong.
The entire building was only four floors, and from the outside, the apartment wasn’t large at all.
But he had been walking for ages and still hadn’t found the stairs.
“This is wrong!”
Yinhu instantly broke out in a cold sweat. He was also a player of the Fiendish World, so he realized at once that he had run into a Fiend.
“Damn it, what rotten luck!”
Yinhu cursed under his breath, then pulled out a Talisman.
This Talisman was a Barrier-Breaking Talisman, specifically used to break through visual obstructions. It was a Fiendish Item crafted by a Daoist in the organization.
He slapped the Talisman onto the wall, and the surrounding scene immediately began to warp. A moment later, everything returned to normal.
“Whew. Looks like its level isn’t too high.”
When Yinhu saw that the door was not far away, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief. He had no intention of continuing the mission.
After all, Xiaoshuai had never said there were Fiends here.
Compared to the mission, his own life was more important.
With that thought, he immediately ran toward the entrance. Soon, he reached the door. Just as he was about to rush out, the front entrance of the apartment suddenly transformed into a massive mouth and snapped shut. Yinhu’s body, along with one of his arms, was severed into two pieces.
“Aaaah!!!”
Yinhu lay on the floor, screaming in agony. Terrified, he looked behind him.
“This… this is impossible… A Fiend of this level… why would it be here?!”
Snot and tears streamed down Yinhu’s face. He simply couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The pain wracking his body made his mind especially clear, and he immediately took out a vial of medicine and injected it into himself.
“Click. Click. Click…”
The crisp sound of a cane rang beside his ears. Yinhu struggled to look over and saw an old man walking toward him.
He knew the other party was the Fiend of this building. And given the other party’s level, it definitely possessed self-awareness, so he hurriedly said, “W-wait… Lord Fiend… I… I’m a subordinate of the Illuminati. We… we have… cooperative relationships with many Lord Fiends… Please… please spare our lives… We will definitely… definitely prepare many… many offerings for you!”
“So you’re from the Illuminati.”
Old Man arrived in front of Yinhu.
The moment Yinhu heard that the other party knew of the Illuminati, he was overjoyed. Perhaps the medicine had taken effect, because his speech became much smoother.
“That’s right… I’m with the Illuminati… My lord, as long as you spare me, you can have as much blood food as you want…”
“Pfft!”
“Aaaah!!!”
Old Man drove his cane into Yinhu’s wound, making his whole body tremble from the pain.
“Tell me, exactly which idiot gave you people the illusion that you and we are in a cooperative relationship?”
As he spoke, Old Man revealed his Fiendish Form, and the ghostly energy around him surged wildly.
“W-wait… I… Aaaah!!!”
“Crack… crack, crack, crack.”
