An arrow shot toward them and grazed past. A yak behind them jerked its head up and knocked the arrow flying with its horn.

Little Mushroom remembered Cook Chen’s death, along with all the familiar faces that had died at the hands of the Barbarians.
Flames sprang into her eyes. Her fear vanished, and clutching the yak’s horn, she shouted “Charge!” at the top of her childish voice.
Ji Si’s eyes widened in alarm.

The yak held grudges, too. Several more arrows flew from the other side, and one even struck its mate.
Now that it was enraged, it would have charged those men even without Jiang Yunsui urging it on.
With their enormous bodies, the yaks were like heavy tanks. Once furious, they became even more destructive.
Ji Si used his sword to sweep aside the incoming arrows.
Jiang Yunsui cheered them on.
The group running behind the herd also noticed the arrows.
“Young Master, they look like Barbarian arrows.”
Ji Yan’an spoke weakly. “Send two people to help.”
Someone was carrying him, but the violent jolting had turned his face deathly pale.
Two more hidden guards accelerated and raced ahead.
“Find a way to lure the wolves over there.”
“Leave that to me,” Song Jin said. “Shen Qingzhu, don’t you have something that attracts wild animals?”
Shen Qingzhu pulled a small porcelain bottle from his robes and handed it over.
“Here.”
“Fat Chef, give me some meat.”
Fat Chef clutched his backside. “Hurry! Those wolves ripped my pants open. The perverts keep going for my ass!”
He was heavy and lagged at the rear. One wolf had lunged and bitten his pants, forcing him to clutch them with one hand to keep them from falling while dragging the wolf along for quite a distance before he finally shook it loose.
His pants had torn with a loud rip, though, and now a chilly breeze was blowing across his backside.
Song Jin laughed. “Lose some weight when we get back. Then you might run faster.”
He bit the stopper out of the bottle and poured the powder over the meat.
“Who’s strong enough to throw this over there?”
“Make sure your aim is good.”
“I’ll do it,” Nanmo said.
Working together, they actually managed to fling the meat onto the leader of the fleeing Barbarian troop.
And why were the Barbarians fleeing? What a question. An entire yak herd was charging them!
They had intended to capture the yaks, but a few troublemakers interfered. Their lassos and arrows were all knocked aside. A few arrows found their marks, but one or two could never kill a yak. They only enraged the herd completely.
As the yaks drew closer, the troop turned and fled.
Jiang Yunsui kicked up one little foot. “Keep going! Ram them!”

The yaks’ destructive power was no joke.
One man was tossed into the air, spun several times, and hit the ground already dead.
Those who fell from their horses fared even worse. Once the herd had passed over them, they had been trampled into pulp.

It was his left arm. His black clothing hid the blood.
She quickly covered the wound with her small hand.
“Don’t be scared. I’ll heal you.”
“We have to hurry back, and then Shen Qingzhu can put medicine on it. You’ll get better faster with medicine.”

His expression abruptly sharpened. An arrow flew toward them.
