Chapter 119
Chapter 119
“Little Yunsui, come eat.”
Jiang Yunsui answered cheerfully and ran over.
There was a whole roast lamb, along with several other dishes.
Little Mushroom ate until her mouth was shiny with oil.
As she ate, she thought of Ji Yan’an.
Under normal circumstances, Ji Yan’an couldn’t get food down at all.
With her not around, how was he supposed to eat? The next time they met, he wouldn’t have starved into a walking skeleton, would he?
And at that very moment, the Ji Yan’an she was thinking about was eating too.
He had no appetite whatsoever for the food laid out on the table, but to maintain his body’s basic functions, he had no choice but to force himself to eat a little. Sometimes, though, he would throw up halfway through.
Dark circles hung beneath his eyes. It was obvious he had not rested properly in quite some time.
Nanshu, standing beside him, was so anxious he was on the verge of tears.
“Young Master, please eat a little more. If this keeps up, before the enemy even breaches the city, your body will collapse first.”
Shen Qingzhu was frowning as well.
“This can’t continue. Your condition had improved before, and you could barely hold on for more than three years. Now we’ve only found one medicine, and there’s no telling when the other two will be found. If this continues, your body won’t last three years.”
Nanshu said, “Why don’t we… bring Little Yunsui over after all?”
After all this time, everyone knew perfectly well that the reason Ji Yan’an had been in such good condition before, able to eat and sleep, was entirely thanks to Jiang Yunsui.
Ji Yan’an frowned. “The danger in Qiusha hasn’t been resolved…”
Everyone capable in Qiusha City had already left. He did not want Jiang Yunsui to come and risk danger.
She was still so young.
“Oh, Young Master, as long as you’re well, those Barbarians won’t be able to break in. Otherwise, it won’t just be you; every commoner in Qiusha City will be finished.”
Ji Yan’an was about to say something else when his vision went black. The next instant, his entire body collapsed unconscious.
Nanshu was so frightened his expression twisted all over his face.
“Young Master!”
The scene instantly descended into chaos.
In the end, after discussion, they still decided they had to secretly bring Jiang Yunsui over.
Shen Qingzhu said, “Song Jin will remain in Qiusha to oversee the overall situation. Nanshu will stay behind to look after the Young Master. I’ll go bring her here.”
Night had fallen. Jiang Yunsui sat in her little courtyard, tilting her head up to look at the moon in the sky.
Tonight’s moon was only a half moon. The moonlight spilling down was drawn into the courtyard under Little Mushroom’s attraction.
Even more of it fell onto her and merged into her body.
Through Little Mushroom’s special processing and compression, it gradually formed into Imperial Flowing Essence, though the speed was a little slow.
The three dogs and two chicks at home all gathered around her. The Imperial Flowing Essence drifting out from Jiang Yunsui’s body was enough to benefit these animals, as well as all the plants in the little courtyard.
Jiang Yunsui wiggled her little feet. Suddenly, she remembered that when Aunt Deer, Tuantuan, and the others cultivated in human form, they all seemed to sit cross-legged.
Should she try it?
Jiang Yunsui crossed her short little legs, imitating the cultivation posture she remembered. The position of her hands changed as well, settling near her dantian.
She closed her eyes.
Before long, Jiang Yunsui felt as if she had turned back into her true form and entered a wondrous black space.
But very quickly, a tiny point of light appeared in the completely black space.
It was like a firefly.
The pretty pale-pink Little Mushroom immediately hopped and bounced after it.
As she chased it, more and more points of light began to glow. In the end, they gathered into a brilliant, beautiful field of stars.
“Wow…”
The cap of the pink Little Mushroom looked all around. It was so beautiful.
Finally, a huge, round moon appeared above her. Moonlight poured down, completely bathing her in its glow. It felt so comfortable.
Without realizing it, Little Mushroom began to absorb it.
So comfortable. So, so comfortable…
What Little Mushroom didn’t know was that outside, the stars and moon in the sky seemed to have grown a few shades brighter.
It wasn’t just the Moonlight Essence. The Power of the Stars was also descending, merging into her body.
The plants and animals around her benefited as well. Some of the plants visibly grew taller.
Quite a few plump, luscious mushrooms pushed up from the soil.
If her little friends from her previous life had seen this, they would definitely have been very gratified.
Little Mushroom could cultivate on her own now.
In the corner, a pair of emerald-green eyes stared at the little girl in the courtyard.
It was already black to begin with, and in the night, it seemed to blend completely into the darkness. Only those bright green eyes shone with particular clarity.
Heiwa glanced that way, but soon went back to earnestly feeling the comfortable power merging into his body, his tail wagging.
This was Jiang Yunsui’s first time cultivating in human form, and once she started, she cultivated all the way until the next day.
Day broke. The Power of the Stars gradually weakened until it finally disappeared.
She opened her eyes and was startled to see that it was already light out.
“It’s morning already?”
She felt like she had only closed her eyes for a little while.
But her whole body felt refreshed and clear.
Jiang Yunsui stood up and gave herself a shake.
The sun had just risen, and the first ray of sunlight spilled down.
The two chicks chirped toward the direction of the rising sun.
The three dogs also got up and stretched.
Jiang Yunsui found the sight of the two little chicks chasing after the sun and chirping rather amusing.
“Wow!!!”
Only then did she notice that the plants in her courtyard all seemed to have grown a little taller.
When she bought them, they had all been saplings. Those saplings would normally take two or three years before they bore fruit.
But now, they had grown quite a bit. She probably wouldn’t have to wait that long anymore.
Jiang Yunsui was delighted. She circled the fruit trees, her eyes sparkling.
“I’ll keep going tomorrow!”
All so she could eat delicious fruit sooner.
However, the weeds had also grown tall and thick.
Jiang Yunsui sensed inside her body for a moment.
She discovered that the amount of Imperial Flowing Essence she could store had doubled compared to before.
The little one’s face instantly blossomed with joy.
Then she muttered in annoyance, “Why didn’t I think of this earlier?”
But it wasn’t too late now.
Jiang Yunsui happily bobbed her head, humming a little tune as she clasped her small hands behind her back and strolled around her courtyard, inspecting the results of her work.
Suddenly, a black shadow darted out, flashed right past her, and sprang up onto the wall.
Jiang Yunsui was so startled that the song she had been humming came out all warped.
“Good heavens, what in the world was that?”
She looked up. Well, look at that. It was the Black Cat.
Jiang Yunsui stood beneath the wall, planted her little hands on her hips, tipped up her face, and stared at the Black Cat with her big eyes.
“Meow-meow, you scared me.”
“You have to apologize to me. But if you let me pet your fur, I won’t be mad anymore.”
Her voice was soft and milky as she tried to reason with the Black Cat.
The Black Cat sat crouched on the wall, its slender form carrying an elegant air. Its coat was pure black without the slightest impurity, and only its emerald-green eyes shone as beautifully as gemstones.
The more Jiang Yunsui looked, the more she liked it.
This cat was seriously gorgeous.
She was shallow, all right. She just liked pretty, good-looking things.
The Black Cat meowed.
Jiang Yunsui said, “Kitty, come down. I’ll give you something tasty.”
A lump of Imperial Flowing Essence appeared in her hand.
The Black Cat tilted its head, stood up, and stretched elegantly.
Then it jumped off the wall and ran away.
Jiang Yunsui froze where she stood.
What? There was actually a little animal that could resist the temptation of her Imperial Flowing Essence?!
“Impossible. That’s impossible…”
Little Mushroom did not understand.
Very well, kitty. You have successfully captured Little Mushroom’s attention.
