Chapter 115
Chapter 115
“You can’t lick me.”
“I’m covered in drool, my clothes are all messed up, and my hair’s a total mess too.”
“My pretty hairstyle is gone.”
Jiang Yunsui complained in a tiny voice.
The leader of the herd was a beautiful White Horse. It was a little sturdier than the other horses, and of course, the most important thing was that it ran faster than all the rest.
Perhaps because it had eaten her Imperial Flowing Essence, White Horse’s attitude toward Jiang Yunsui had improved quite a bit. By extension, even Zuozuo and Youyou no longer looked quite so irritating to it.
Sure enough, once you ate someone’s food, it was hard to stay hostile.
There were foals in the herd too.
But even the foals looked a little taller than Jiang Yunsui.
The foals also liked crowding around Jiang Yunsui, rubbing against her and begging for food.
Jiang Yunsui wrinkled her little face and squeezed out a bit of Imperial Flowing Essence for them to eat.
“There’s no more. Little Mushroom has been squeezed dry. There really isn’t any left.”
Sigh. She felt like she would have to work even harder to absorb moonlight power.
Jiang Yunsui kind of wanted to ride a horse.
She looked around to see if she could pick a foal that could carry her, but was not too tall.
There really was a little chestnut foal.
The foal was very strong, so carrying someone as tiny as her was easy. Its back was not that broad either, and her short little legs could still grip it.
So she very seriously asked the foal for its opinion.
But the foal could not understand her, and Jiang Yunsui talked until her little mouth went dry.
The two fools just stared at each other with big eyes.
The other horses had already started grazing around them.
The foal tilted its head. After Jiang Yunsui secretly gave it a little extra Imperial Flowing Essence on the side, it happily ran back to its mother to nurse.
Seeing that, Jiang Yunsui felt guilty, and her conscience twinged a little.
Did this count as bullying a little baby that was still drinking milk?
After the foal had its fill, it ran back to Jiang Yunsui again.
Jiang Yunsui hesitated for a few seconds, but in the end, she could not resist climbing onto its back.
The foal actually stood there obediently without struggling at all.
This half-grown foal, not yet an adult, was slimmer than the other big horses. Once Jiang Yunsui climbed up, she hugged its neck.
The foal carried her around the area, breaking into a light trot.
Its temper could really be called excellent.
“Hahaha… I can ride a horse too.”
She was still happily enjoying herself when the herd suddenly grew restless.
The wind across the grassland carried a faint sound over. Jiang Yunsui thought she heard someone calling her.
Jiang Yunsui, who had been having so much fun, had completely forgotten about Fat Chef and the others.
Only now, when she heard the voices, did she remember.
Fat Chef and the others had come looking for her.
The little girl craned her neck to look around.
“I’m over here… Hey, hey, hey?”
The herd started running. Jiang Yunsui had not even finished calling back before she was carried along with them.
Jiang Yunsui nearly fell off. She quickly hugged the foal’s neck.
“Don’t run! Don’t run!”
The horses ran very fast, instantly reminding Jiang Yunsui of the time an elk had carried her uncontrollably down a slope.
“Aaaah!!! Stop, hurry and stop!”
Jiang Yunsui’s originally soft, milky little voice had gone completely distorted.
“Woof, woof, woof…”
Zuozuo and Youyou hurriedly chased after them.
An even louder bark came from the distance. It was Heiwa.
And beside Heiwa were Fat Chef and the others, who had followed him over.
“Damn, is that a herd of horses over there?”
“It really is!”
“Those are Zuozuo and Youyou.”
“Where’s Little Yunsui?”
“Aaaah…”
A childish scream came on the wind. Fat Chef and the others exchanged a look.
“She’s in the herd!”
After saying it in unison, they hurriedly urged their horses forward in pursuit.
“How did that little girl end up in the middle of a horse herd?”
“We’re done for. If she gets trampled even once…”
None of them dared imagine it. Being rammed or trampled by a horse could easily cost someone their life. Even an adult could not withstand it, let alone a child as small as Jiang Yunsui.
“Circle around from the other side.”
The group split up with practiced strategy.
Jiang Yunsui had screamed herself hoarse and gulped down so much wind that the features on her pretty, adorable little face were practically distorted.
“Cough, cough, cough…”
“Woof, woof, woof!”
Zuozuo and Youyou suddenly broke into a mad sprint.
The two of them had been raised on the Imperial Flowing Essence Jiang Yunsui fed them since they were little, and they actually managed to keep up with the herd.
Zuozuo barked as she veered left, while Youyou drove the herd from the other side.
Amid the dogs’ furious barking, the leading White Horse grew agitated. With people chasing from behind and unable to withstand Youyou’s herding, it actually followed Zuozuo and turned.
Jiang Yunsui clung tightly to the little horse’s neck and cautiously opened her eyes.
That direction… why did it look a little familiar?
Fat Chef and the others behind them were stunned too.
“That direction… looks like it’s heading back to camp.”
They exchanged glances. Fat Chef narrowed his eyes and observed for a moment.
“Well, I’ll be damned. Zuozuo and Youyou are doing it.”
“They’re driving the herd toward camp.”
“Beautifully done, hahahaha…”
“Heiwa, get up there and help. We’ll drive them from different sides too. Don’t let the herd stray off course.”
“Where’s Little Yunsui? Has anyone seen Little Yunsui?”
“I see her. She’s on the back of a little horse. That little horse is probably running slower because it’s carrying Yunsui, so it’s a bit farther back.”
One had to admit, the child did have some weight to her.
The farther they ran, the farther the little horse carrying Jiang Yunsui fell behind.
In the end, it could barely keep running at all.
For one thing, Jiang Yunsui’s plump little body really did have some heft to it. For another, it was the little horse’s first time carrying a person, so it had no experience and could not run as fast as the grown horses.
Most importantly, Jiang Yunsui was too nervous. Her little arms wrapped around the horse’s neck kept tightening.
The little horse felt like it could no longer breathe. It felt as if it could see its old father, who had been bitten to death by wolves.
It had really suffered a huge loss this time.
“Hahaha… Little Yunsui, all that meat on you wasn’t grown for nothing.”
Once he caught up to them, Fat Chef scooped up the dizzy Jiang Yunsui in one arm.
Jiang Yunsui: “…”
That sounded strangely harsh.
With the weight lifted from its back, the little horse panicked and hurried after the herd ahead.
Jiang Yunsui felt weak in both arms and legs, her little face deathly pale.
“Wuwuwu… I almost fell off.”
She sniffled, her little nose and eyes both red, tears brimming in them. She looked utterly pitiful.
“I held on really tight so I wouldn’t get trampled.”
Fat Chef laughed teasingly.
“You sure held on tight. You nearly strangled that little horse to death.”
Jiang Yunsui looked at the little horse, which was so exhausted it ran listlessly, unable to catch up to the herd, and let out a despairing whinny.
Oh no. Her conscience hurt even more now.
In the end, it was Grandpa Shen who scooped up the weak little horse in one arm.
The little fellow struggled, but he burst into hearty laughter.
He was clearly very pleased.
The herd was driven, intentionally or otherwise, toward the military camp.
One of them sped up. “I’ll go back first and have the people at camp open the gates.”
And so, with everyone working together, the whole bewildered, confused herd of wild horses was brought all the way to the Ji Family Army Camp.
They were driven into a large fenced enclosure and shut inside.
The agitated herd paced back and forth within the fence.
“Damn it, we finally got these fellows here. I was worried the whole way that they’d run off course. If the duck already at our lips had flown away, I would’ve died of frustration.”
