Chapter 94
Chapter 94
Before he could ask anything else, a short, sharp scream came from the other end.
Then the call was disconnected.
Only the beeping of the busy tone remained.
[What is going on? How does a blind date turn into a murder scene?!]
Wu Xiaojiu scratched his head, unable to make up his mind for a moment.
The other person’s voice clearly did not sound like Bo Suihan, but both the contact name and phone number belonged to Bo Suihan’s phone.
Now that was strange.
Wu Xiaojiu bit down on his lower lip, not knowing whether he should go or not.
[Go, go. It’s not like you’ve got anything else to do right now. Instead of sitting here panicking, you might as well go see if you can help.]
[I’m mainly scared I’ll make things worse. Those last two times Wang Xiao set things up for me really traumatized me. Now I can’t help feeling like there’s something off about this call.]
After only a few moments of hesitation, Wu Xiaojiu was persuaded.
He started the car again, sent Wang Qiang a quick reply saying they would talk later, then drove toward Baijinghui.
It was not far, and by the time he arrived, evening had just fallen.
The receptionists at the entrance all recognized Wu Xiaojiu. President Bo had probably given them prior instructions too, because when they saw him hurry in, he did not even go to the front desk. He simply got into a random elevator and headed upstairs.
His behavior was suspiciously abnormal, but even so, no one stopped him. In fact, when a newly arrived intern wanted to go over and ask what was going on, one of the veterans held him back.
“Don’t go over there. That’s an S-VIP President Bo personally told us about. If you dare stop him, then thanks to you, I’ll be getting a call from President Bo by tomorrow.”
After that scolding, the intern halted in his tracks.
But seeing Wu Xiaojiu dart around like a gust of wind, he frowned and asked the veteran, “Baijinghui doesn’t have any private rooms booked under the surname Wu. What’s he in such a rush for?”
“My guess is something happened to President Bo. I’ve seen the two of them get a room before, but today President Bo had some guy carried into the presidential suite. I bet that’s why he’s here.”
The intern only half understood, but in the end, he nodded solemnly and came to a conclusion.
“Rich people’s circles sure are messy.”
Wu Xiaojiu had already taken the elevator to the top floor. He had only been told it was the presidential suite, but he did not know the specific room name.
All he could do was knock on each door one by one. The first two were wrong, and he apologized to the guests with a bright, ingratiating smile.
When he reached the third door, there was no answer from inside, and no one came to open it. But when he pressed himself against the crack of the door to listen, there was clearly someone inside. Wu Xiaojiu had no choice but to keep knocking.
Unexpectedly, his knocking angered the person inside.
A heavy kick slammed into the door, the voice behind it filled with rage.
“I don’t need any service. Get lost!”
That was Bo Suihan’s voice. Wu Xiaojiu could recognize it.
The kick had been so forceful that even Wu Xiaojiu’s knocking fist was jolted painfully.
Wu Xiaojiu rubbed his wrist, curiosity getting the better of him.
[Isn’t Long Aotian supposed to keep his emotions hidden? Why is he losing his temper like this? What on earth happened?]
The System was just as baffled.
It could not figure it out either.
So it urged Wu Xiaojiu to break down the door and find out.
Wu Xiaojiu hesitated again and again, standing at the door, unable to decide.
[What we know is that a strange boy called me, but Bo Suihan is also at the address he gave. I guess we accidentally completed the objective. But Bo Suihan doesn’t sound like he’s being held hostage, he can move around freely, and it doesn’t seem like anything major is happening. How about we just slip away?]
Who knew what Bo Suihan was doing in there?
If he barged in by mistake and ruined someone’s good time, Wu Xiaojiu really could not afford to compensate him.
As far as he was concerned, they should just pretend they had never come today and flee with the System.
The System could not allow him to run away in such a pathetic manner and immediately rejected the idea.
Long Aotian rarely let his emotions show like this. Maybe he really had run into trouble. If Wu Xiaojiu could help, he should. Besides, he only had to open the door and take a look. It would not take much effort.
Wu Xiaojiu was still hesitating.
But he truly could not out-stubborn the System.
In the end, he chose to go downstairs, get a spare key from the front desk, then head back up and slide it into the lock.
The sound of a key going into a lock was nothing like swiping a card. It was actually pretty loud.
Wu Xiaojiu’s heart leaped into his throat. When there was no reaction from inside, he finally turned the key.
There was a click. As the key reached the end of the lock and twisted to the right, the door slowly opened.
A narrow crack appeared.
The first thing that came into view was a boy with black hair falling over his face. His limbs were restrained, taped to a chair. His skin was fair, his lips a vivid red, and there were streaks of blood on his arms and face. Even in such a sorry state, it could not hide how pretty he was.
The boy did not look too badly off. He even seemed to have a bit of energy left. When he noticed movement at the door, he looked over.
And met Wu Xiaojiu’s eyes.
“No one can save you now. What are you still looking at?”
Wu Xiaojiu was still trying to understand the situation when Bo Suihan’s back shifted into view, blocking the crack in the door.
He stood there with his arms crossed, a riding crop tucked against him, glaring at the boy as he spoke in an indignant voice.
Is this cosplay? Or some special kink? My eyes.
Wu Xiaojiu’s pupils quaked, and panic abruptly set in.
The System was also flipping through its book on the spot, anxiously defending him.
No, no, there was nothing about this kind of fetish in the original! Long Aotian is so perfect. How could he possibly pick up such a bad habit!
Listening to the System’s hoarse, desperate howling, Wu Xiaojiu suddenly felt that this was no place to linger.
Silently, he tiptoed backward, carefully pressing down on the door handle, planning to leave this den of trouble without anyone noticing.
Unfortunately, if opening the door made a sound, closing it made one too-and an extremely obvious one at that.
A crisp click rang out. Whether inside the room or outside it, it was piercingly loud.
Wu Xiaojiu was so frightened he practically sprang three feet into the air. With no time to think about anything else, he turned and tried to run.
But before he could get even two steps away, he was hauled up by the collar, neck and all.
“Hello there.”
Seeing that there was no hiding it, Wu Xiaojiu gritted his teeth and awkwardly turned his head, waving at Bo Suihan.
The anger on Bo Suihan’s face had not yet faded. Compared with usual, the pressure he gave off was more than just a little stronger. He looked even fiercer than a god of death.
Wu Xiaojiu was so scared his teeth ached. His whole face crumpled up, looking uglier than if he were crying.
Seeing him like this, Bo Suihan’s anger eased a little. After a long, soundless sigh, he lifted a hand and flicked Wu Xiaojiu’s cheek.
“Idiot.”
After that bit of personal attack, Bo Suihan carried Wu Xiaojiu like a little chick and tossed him into the presidential suite.
The boy’s limbs were still restrained, and he remained tied to the chair.
He only looked a little more wilted than before. When he saw Wu Xiaojiu being thrown into the room, he forced himself to muster some energy and curled his lips. Even after being tortured until he barely looked human, he still had to throw out a few barbed words.
“What? One person isn’t enough to satisfy you?”
Bo Suihan ignored him. He simply took a cushioned stool from the side, set it under Wu Xiaojiu, then reached out and brushed aside the loose hair on his forehead. His expression and gaze were serious.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you not to follow me back at the police station?”
Wu Xiaojiu answered haltingly.
“You weren’t answering your phone, so I got anxious and worried. I tried feeling my way over here, but I didn’t expect to stumble into the right place by accident.”
“By accident? You mean to tell me that on Entertainment Street and the commercial street, among all those bars and entertainment venues, you found Baijinghui with pinpoint accuracy, then found the exact suite I was in with pinpoint accuracy too?”
