Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Anyone who heard the commotion knew something terrible had happened.
Before the two of them even got inside, the Feng Family’s front door was kicked open.
Wu Yuting came stumbling out, her face and body covered in blood, screaming as she charged straight toward the car in a clearly abnormal state.
“What kind of drug did you give her? How could you turn my sister into this!”
Wu Xiaojiu said nothing and immediately reached to unbuckle his seat belt. But just as the car door opened, someone pressed him back down.
Bo Suihan narrowed his eyes and looked at Wu Yuting.
After a long moment, he shook his head.
“A heavy dose. In this state, she can’t tell reality from illusion anymore. Don’t get out so recklessly or you’ll get hurt.”
As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeve. “I’ll make a call. The two of us will stay in the car and wait quietly.”
At a glance, it was obvious he was about to call for help.
But Wu Xiaojiu didn’t trust the rough men brought in through his Dragon King Token at all. On top of that, Wu Yuting was screaming and raging like a madwoman, and the residents of the nearby villas had already started opening their windows and coming downstairs to watch.
Seeing his sister humiliated in public, Wu Xiaojiu felt awful.
“No need. I can handle it myself. My sister doesn’t have anything sharp on her, so she can’t hurt me.”
With that, he ignored the attempt to stop him, shoved the door open, and rushed toward Wu Yuting.
By now, she was in such a state that she didn’t even recognize friend or family. Her eyes were bloodshot, and the moment she saw someone charge toward her head-on, her limbs twisted like a zombie’s as she howled and lunged forward.
Even Wu Xiaojiu felt a little afraid at the sight of her.
After taking two quick steps, he reached his sister and suddenly had no idea where to start.
“Sis, um, calm down a little, okay? Don’t actually beat me to death.”
As he spoke, Wu Xiaojiu reached out and barely managed to seize her right arm, then hopped back and tried to keep some distance while twisting her left arm.
His plan had been simple and ideal: control her arms, get her into the car, and bind her with the seat belt.
But Wu Yuting was clearly in a berserk state.
The instant she felt her arm twisted painfully, her left arm slashed down at Wu Xiaojiu in an extremely distorted motion.
She had just had her nails done, with pearls and diamonds set into them.
That slap, nails and all, came down across Wu Xiaojiu’s cheek.
The scratch wasn’t deep, but blood mixed with the broken skin and spread out.
Wu Xiaojiu yelped in pain.
Just then, Bo Suihan also got out of the car.
After some struggle, the two of them finally managed to restrain Wu Yuting without taking any serious damage.
After they got her into the car, several Cullinans soon drove into the villa area.
A group of men wearing first-rank warlord armbands got out, while also hauling Wang Xiao along with them.
“Dragon King, the person you wanted has been brought.”
Wang Xiao had deep finger marks on his neck, and foam still clung to the corner of his mouth.
The warlord escorting him had slapped him several times before he finally came to somewhat.
“Why did you bring me here? Want to laugh at me?”
“Antidote.”
Bo Suihan didn’t want to waste a single word on him and held out his hand directly.
“There’s still something in this world you can’t handle? Some poison you can’t cure?”
Wang Xiao smiled faintly and tilted his head to look at him. “I can give you the antidote, but I want to be alone with Wu Xiaojiu for a while.”
The moment he finished speaking, Bo Suihan interrupted him and shook his head without the slightest hesitation.
This man was far too good at bewitching people’s minds. Wu Xiaojiu and Qi Jiao were both fools who had already fallen for him once.
Who knew what last words he might try to leave behind? Besides, Wang Xiao might already have figured that matter out.
Seeing how firm the other man was, the smile on Wang Xiao’s lips deepened. He knew that even if he died, his odds of winning would still remain very high.
He simply stopped beating around the bush and spoke plainly with Wu Xiaojiu about the deal.
“I’m in this state now. What threat could I possibly pose to you? The only antidote is with me, and I have only one condition.”
After some hesitation, Wu Xiaojiu nodded.
Seeing him like this, Bo Suihan knew there was no point saying more. But seeing how much Wu Xiaojiu valued and protected his sister, he could not help but feel uneasy.
The two of them went into the Feng Family attic.
The Dragon King, along with everyone brought over by the Dragon King Token, were forbidden from eavesdropping.
They all waited downstairs at the Feng Family building for the result.
This was Feng Jiutian’s private villa. She kept that lover of hers who had a child here, a relationship she normally did not dare make public, much less do in a high-profile way.
As a result, the attic was dusty and gray, with no maid to clean it.
The moment they stepped inside, a layer of dust stirred up.
“What is it?” Wu Xiaojiu asked first as he went in.
“In such a hurry?”
Wang Xiao had somehow already come up behind him, one hand clamping the back of his neck.
Wu Xiaojiu was forced to turn his head slightly.
“Mm? What are you doing?”
Wang Xiao pressed himself against him. His face, along with his eyes, was magnified right in front of Wu Xiaojiu.
Somehow, his eyes were already brimming with tears. As he drew closer, the two of them were almost face-to-face.
Tears welled out from the crystal and spread over them.
A stinging pain, like being pricked by barbs, spread through him, followed by a numb, tingling ache.
“I’m going to die.”
Wang Xiao finally straightened up, the tears coming with him. Transparent, pure-white crystals rolled down and dripped between them.
Wu Xiaojiu clutched at his stinging eyes, at a loss for what to say for a moment.
“Congratulations?”
“No need to mock me like that. You think you ended up any better? Wu Dan and Bo Suihan teamed up to scam your Wu Family. Sooner or later, you’ll be coming down here to keep me company too.”
Wang Xiao’s expression twisted.
But when he saw that Wu Xiaojiu looked just as pained, he suddenly paused.
“When my tears flowed into your eyes and you felt that sting, you should have felt my bitterness and pain too.”
Wang Xiao adjusted his expression.
For a moment, he actually felt calm. He was no longer so consumed by jealousy.
“I’ll tell you the truth. Wu Dan was willing to work with Bo Suihan to cheat your Wu Family because he had conditions. The surveillance footage is blurry, but you can still see that they talked for a long time.
If your Wu Family lost, Bo Suihan would successfully take a stake, while Wu Dan would have only a name on paper and nothing else.
So besides the contract terms, Wu Dan and Bo Suihan had another agreement. Your Wu Family was bound to lose from the start, but instead of transferring shares to Wu Dan as written in the contract, they would marry off Wu Yuting.”
Wang Xiao spoke with complete certainty.
And Wu Yuting’s current situation really was a problem.
Wu Xiaojiu froze at once.
He did not believe for a second that Bo Suihan, someone already unmatched, would go through such a roundabout scheme just for the Wu Family’s small stake.
So he kept waving his hands, making it clear he did not believe it at all.
But Wang Xiao seemed to know his credibility was weak.
He did not expect to win Wu Xiaojiu over with a few words, and went on, “It’s fine. You don’t have to believe it now, but what happened is what happened. No one can hide the truth. Do you still remember the case from before you went missing?”
Wu Xiaojiu frowned and nodded. Wang Xiao then said meaningfully, “Miss Zhao and the Deaf Man are already in prison, but they were wrongly accused, and they also heard about what happened in your family. If you want to keep trouble from coming down on the Wu Family, start with them.”
