Chapter 47

He was getting what he wanted, while Wu Xiaojiu shrank back and lowered his head in panic. In a low, heavy voice, he said, “What exactly do you want? Bo Suihan, are you trying to torture me?”

The person behind him shook his head. Half of Bo Suihan’s face was buried in the crook of Wu Xiaojiu’s neck.

When he shook his head, the loose strands of hair on his face brushed against Wu Xiaojiu, making him itch all over.

“I just want the answer. I don’t know what you’re thinking. These past few months while you were gone, I searched online a lot. They say some rich second-generation heirs are so thoroughly satisfied in mind and body that, whether with brothers or lovers, they still need some kind of unusual expression.

“So I was thinking, when you killed me and then cut your own throat, maybe it wasn’t because you hated me. Maybe it was your way of expressing love in another form.”

Crazy.

This was absolutely crazy.

Wu Xiaojiu thought he hadn’t even done anything to Bo Suihan. How could the man be this hopelessly devoted?

The knife had already been driven into his chest, and Bo Suihan still thought Wu Xiaojiu was just making trouble.

For a moment, Wu Xiaojiu didn’t know how to answer, so he simply stayed silent.

He hadn’t expected that silence to be taken as confirmation. Instead, Bo Suihan seemed to think he had guessed right.

His eyes lit up, and he reached into his pocket to pull out a wolf tooth.

It was the one he had pried from the wolf king’s mouth when he was thirteen, after fighting alone up on the mountain.

The tooth had come from the side of the wolf king’s mouth, where it was often used to tear at a prey’s throat, blood vessels, and other vulnerable spots.

Held against a hand, it was probably six or seven centimeters long.

Extremely sharp. Not much less dangerous than a dagger.

Bo Suihan took it out and opened Wu Xiaojiu’s palm with his hand. Then he slowly laid the wolf tooth across it.

At first, Wu Xiaojiu thought he was giving him a protective charm.

Until a sharp sting rose from his palm.

Wu Xiaojiu looked down in disbelief and saw that the wolf tooth had sliced open the skin of his palm.

Blood surged out in an instant. Flesh split and the loose skin on his palm curled outward.

“It doesn’t hurt? What are you doing?”

Usually, if Wu Xiaojiu even bumped his leg against a table, his family would have to rub it for a long time and then disinfect it with iodine.

He had been raised in complete luxury, never suffering any real hardship.

Now his entire palm had been cut open by a wolf tooth, and his emotions flared up at once.

Panicked, he bent and twisted his body, trying to find some tissue to wipe the blood.

“It doesn’t hurt. It’ll be over in a moment.”

Bo Suihan stretched his neck. He no longer hid behind him like a turtle. Instead, he unfolded himself around Wu Xiaojiu in a crossed posture.

His neck and face were still pressed against Wu Xiaojiu’s shoulder, but unlike before, when he could barely make out anything, Wu Xiaojiu could now faintly see Bo Suihan’s eyes and brows.

His expression was serious. He clenched the wolf tooth in his own palm and lost all the care he had shown before.

Then he dragged it across as casually as if he were wiping his hand.

His whole palm looked as if it had been torn open, blood gushing out in streams.

“Like this, will you feel closer to me? Like this, will you feel better?”

The two bloody palms clasped together, fingers interlocked.

Because of the pain, Wu Xiaojiu’s fingers couldn’t bend at all.

Bo Suihan’s expression didn’t change. Looking at Wu Xiaojiu’s clenched teeth and pained face, he seemed to think that was enough.

He tightened his grip.

Blood poured down like a waterfall between the two hands, and for a moment it was impossible to tell whose blood it was.

“Don’t think the blood is only flowing fast on the surface. Inside, the platelets are already working to seal the wound. Our fingers are interlocked like this. Do you think they would mistake us for having been one body from the very beginning?”
“Could the platelets, while working, connect our hands together? From the wound in this palm to the wound in that palm, could a strip of flesh grow into a bridge?”

If Wu Xiaojiu had only been shocked before, then by now his head was completely foggy.

His mite-sized brain simply could not understand what Bo Suihan was thinking.

Nor could he understand what Bo Suihan was doing now.

Where had the pure, mentally normal Bo Suihan from high school gone?

Could it be that after failing to get the upper hand against those old foxes, Bo Suihan had been driven crazy alive?

Wu Xiaojiu was in so much pain that he wanted to scratch his ears off. What hurt most, though, was his heart.

The scene was too stimulating. Wu Xiaojiu didn’t dare look at it at all, but the pain was growing more and more urgent, and his attention still kept drifting over there from time to time.

“What’s wrong? Too good it’s left you speechless?”

“Good my ass!”

“I don’t have an ass.”

Wu Xiaojiu cursed from the pain.

Bo Suihan shook his head with an innocent expression.

“Don’t give me all this flashy nonsense. And keep your distance from me. Bo Suihan, a few months ago it was you and me, and me and you. Now the situation is completely different.

How are we supposed to count as friends!”

Wu Xiaojiu couldn’t stand it anymore. Or maybe he was truly afraid that, just as Bo Suihan said, the wounds on their palms would scab together and grow into a bridge of flesh.

He used his elbow hard to shove the person behind him away.

After finally breaking free, Wu Xiaojiu held his bloody hand and sat down at the corner of the bed.

“You thought I wanted to be friends with you?”

“Don’t bring that up. You have a fiancée now. We need to know our limits. You’ve also got a status now, and people with status need to be decent!”

There wasn’t a single sheet of paper in Bo Suihan’s room.

Wu Xiaojiu could only cradle his wrist and watch the blood drip down drop by drop, splashing onto that little dolphin blanket.

Then it seeped into the mattress.

At first, he could still feel it. By the end, he couldn’t feel anything anymore, and his hand only started trembling involuntarily.

Wu Xiaojiu really couldn’t control the tears that came from the pain.

“Are you crying because I have a fiancée? Feng Jiutian doesn’t like me, and I don’t like her either. She has someone she likes, and so do I.”

Wu Xiaojiu had completely lost the strength to pull his hand back now.

He could only let it stay held there.

His heart had already started aching, and his whole mind was hanging on whether they would cross-infect each other.

After all, Wu Xiaojiu was type A blood, and who knew what blood type Bo Suihan had.

If their blood was incompatible and it kept flowing into his body, causing a rejection reaction.

Wouldn’t Wu Xiaojiu be finished for life?

But that silence, in Bo Suihan’s eyes, became doubt and disbelief.

Even Long Aotian had things he wasn’t good at. Bo Suihan knew very well that emotions were his weakest point.

Since childhood, he had never gotten along with the children in the mountain village, and people and dogs alike found him annoying.

After finally growing up and managing to like someone, it turned out to be a rich young master who had seen and experienced everything.

Bo Suihan had studied furiously.

He had searched online for books and courses on dealing with people, psychology, Wang Yangming, and more, then read and bought them all.

At this point, when it came to guessing reactions, he had real confidence.

Seeing that Wu Xiaojiu had begun to doubt him, Bo Suihan decided to solve the problem at its root.
