Chapter 87
Chapter 87
Yun Jianyue smiled pleasantly. “I’m not the reasonable type either. How about we sit down and talk this over?”
Lin Tianjue, who was being held hostage: ???
What did she mean, she wasn’t the reasonable type either? Shouldn’t she have said she wasn’t an unreasonable person either? What was wrong with this woman?!
“Why aren’t you saying anything? I’ll take that as a yes, then.” Ignoring Lin Tianjue’s speechlessness, Yun Jianyue tipped her chin at Sister Hong. “Xiao Hong, prepare the room from yesterday for Sister Hua.”
Sister Hong hesitantly looked at Lin Tianjue, who immediately cursed, “What are you standing around for? Go!”
Sister Hong hurried off to prepare the room. Once it was ready, Yun Jianyue marched Lin Tianjue inside as her hostage. Si Wuming followed with Lin Chunshu in his grip, while Lu Changxue brought Gao Weimin in.
The door was still open. Yun Jianyue looked curiously at the two remaining Lin brothers. “Why aren’t you coming in? Are you waiting for your two older brothers to die so you can inherit their property?”
Lin Fengting and Lin Sicheng: !!!
What a vicious woman! She was actually trying to drive a wedge between them at a time like this!
“Third Brother, are we going in or not?” Lin Sicheng remained fully committed to never using his brain.
Through gritted teeth, Lin Fengting said, “We’re going in.”
What other choice did they have? Stay outside and let that woman keep sowing discord?
Before entering, Lin Fengting spoke to one of the sorcerers in a local Southeast Asian dialect. “When you hear a cup smash, rush straight in. Leave none of them alive.”
Lin Fengting and Lin Sicheng entered the room. Lu Changxue closed the door, pulled back the curtains, and quietly sat by the window, watching outside with her trademark sweet and innocent smile.
She would keep watch right here. Anyone who dared come too close would be eaten on the spot.
“Sit. Make yourselves at home,” Yun Jianyue said, releasing Lin Tianjue before finding herself a seat. She showed no sign of considering herself an outsider.
Lin Tianjue, the true boss of the entire organization: ???
He was going to pry the question mark key off a keyboard and throw it in Yun Cuihua’s face!
Did Yun Cuihua have no damn clue whose house this was?!
Si Wuming released Lin Chunshu as well. He pulled a lollipop from his pocket and handed it to Yun Jianyue, then casually placed a chair by the door.
He sat there with his Tang sword in his right hand, its blade resting against the floor, looking every inch the imposing boss.
With him guarding the door, one man could hold off an entire army.
Anyone who dared approach the room, or tried to leave it, would first have to consider whether they could survive long enough to open that door.
Yun Jianyue took the seat of honor opposite the door, unwrapped the lollipop, and stuck it in her mouth. She looked at the Four Lin Brothers in confusion. “Why aren’t you sitting? Were you born with an aversion to chairs?”
The Four Lin Brothers exchanged glances before each finding a seat.
“What exactly are you trying to do?” Lin Tianjue asked.
Yun Jianyue looked baffled. “Bro, I told you I’m an undercover agent. Obviously, I’m here to bring you all to justice. What else would I be doing?”
Lin Tianjue wondered if the two of them were even having the same conversation.
“Are you Xuanmen practitioners from Huaxia?” Lin Fengting seemed to be the brains among the four brothers and had recognized their identities.
“I’m not. He is.” Yun Jianyue pointed at Si Wuming. She was merely an unofficial Paranormal Bureau recruit and a latecomer to the field, an expendable temp who could be shoved forward to take a bullet at any moment. She had nothing whatsoever to do with Xuanmen.
The four brothers glanced at Si Wuming and decided they were still better off talking to Yun Jianyue.
The woman might not seem quite right in the head, but the man at the door and the vengeful ghost were clearly just muscle. The true leader of the group was Yun Cuihua.
Yun Jianyue said, “I answered your question, so it’s only fair that you answer mine.”
“First question: Who modified your bodies?”
“Second question: What is the person, or rather the nonhuman, behind the four of you? Who are they?”
“Third question: Why are you worshipping Huaxia’s Evil God? Don’t you have an Evil God of your own in Southeast Asia?”
“Fourth question: What are you planning to do with the intelligence you’ve stolen from Huaxia?”
Lin Tianjue was speechless. “You only answered one of our questions, yet you’re asking us this many?”
Yun Jianyue replied with perfect confidence, “Yes. And? It’s not like we’re negotiating as equals. Come on, the four of you are prisoners now. Know your place!”
“Big Brother, I think she has a point,” Lin Sicheng said, maintaining his usual standard of lovable idiocy.
“Shut up!” Lin Fengting snapped. He couldn’t understand how his own younger brother could be this stupid.
Lin Sicheng sheepishly closed his mouth. Lin Fengting turned to Yun Jianyue. “Why should we answer you? It doesn’t look like you have any backup. Our people are everywhere in this factory. Do you really think you’ll make it out alive?”
Yun Jianyue pretended to consider his words. “You have a point.”
Lin Fengting smiled smugly. “If you know what’s good for you, I might-”
“Then I’ll call for backup.” Yun Jianyue pulled Lin Tianjue’s phone from her pocket and promptly called Cai Zeyu.
“I’ve captured their boss. Send people to surround this factory. There are a few bodyguards and sorcerers inside… Are they strong? No, I don’t think so. They all seem pretty useless to me…”
After hanging up, Yun Jianyue flashed them an infuriating grin. “I’ve never heard such a ridiculous request before. You actually asked me to call for backup.”
Lin Tianjue was about to lose his mind.
When had Yun Cuihua stolen his phone?! More importantly, his phone was password-protected. How had she managed to unlock it?!
No, that wasn’t the point.
The point was, she actually thought the sorcerers he’d paid a fortune to retain were useless! Wasn’t she being a little too arrogant?!
Lin Fengting’s gaze turned vicious. They couldn’t sit around waiting to be captured. Once Yun Cuihua’s backup arrived, they would be finished.
There was a teapot and several cups on the table. Seeing that Yun Jianyue wasn’t looking at him, Lin Fengting quietly reached for one of the cups.
His hand had only made it halfway when Si Wuming repeated in flawless Mandarin, enunciating every word clearly:
“Smash the cup as a signal. Charge straight in and leave none of them alive.”
Lin Fengting’s face changed drastically. “You understand Southeast Asian languages?!”
Si Wuming tilted his head and stared expressionlessly at Lin Fengting.
He said nothing, yet somehow, his look said everything.
It was merely a Southeast Asian language. He had lived for thousands of years. What language could he possibly not understand?
There wasn’t a single place in the world he had never set foot in.
Yun Jianyue leaned back at her leisure. “Go ahead, smash it. I’d love to see what kind of trick you can pull with a broken cup.”
With that, Yun Jianyue pulled a chainsaw she’d prepared earlier from beneath her chair. “My darling chainsaw hasn’t had any action in a long time. Call them in, and I’ll give it some time in the spotlight.”
Lin Fengting’s pupils contracted violently. Where had that chainsaw come from?! Since when did this factory provide people with chainsaws?!
The moment he saw the chainsaw in Yun Jianyue’s hands, a flicker of displeasure crossed Si Wuming’s eyes.
Mo Chen had conjured that chainsaw for Yun Jianyue last night.
