Chapter 64
Chapter 64
Just as Yun Jianyue was about to head to the principal’s office, a powerful flashlight beam swept toward her. She hurriedly crouched down and flattened herself against the ground. The beam passed over without catching her.
A security guard’s voice came from nearby. “You’re making a fuss over nothing. What noise could there be? We’ve already beaten these students into submission. How could they possibly still dare to escape?”
Another guard said, “True. Come on, let’s go back and keep playing cards.”
“Sure. Whoever loses later has to drag a pretty girl out of the girls’ dormitory for the boys to enjoy.”
“Hahaha! We don’t even need to play cards. We can grab a schoolgirl whenever we feel like having fun…”
The guards’ voices gradually faded into the distance. Yun Jianyue narrowed her eyes. After weighing her options, she decided to go to the principal’s office first.
As Yun Jianyue felt her way upstairs in the dark, she noticed an office door standing ajar. After watching for a while and confirming that no one was inside, she slipped in to take a look. Hidden beneath the bottom of a teacher’s desk drawer, she found a Little Dao.
There was still wet blood on the Little Dao, probably left behind while abusing students.
Yun Jianyue tucked the Little Dao into the back of her waistband and searched for a while longer. Finally, her gaze landed on the baseball bat in the corner.
She had no idea which bastard it belonged to, but it was hers now.
Yun Jianyue picked up the baseball bat and quietly made her way to the top floor.
The door to the principal’s office stood wide open. The sound of a phone came from inside; someone seemed to be watching videos.
Yun Jianyue glanced in and saw an executive chair behind the principal’s desk. The chair’s back was turned toward her.
Its backrest was so high that only a small sliver of the principal’s head was visible above it.
Yun Jianyue crept inside, raised the baseball bat high, and swung it at the principal’s head!
The next moment, a large, well-defined hand caught the baseball bat effortlessly.
Mo Chen swiveled the chair around, revealing his exquisite features.
A trace of displeasure showed in his pitch-black eyes, and his tone was even worse. “Trying to take me down with you?”
“Why is it you?” Yun Jianyue pulled back the baseball bat and discovered that Mo Chen was playing with her phone. “How come my phone is still here?”
Everyone else’s belongings had mysteriously vanished. Why could Mo Chen still use her phone?
She took a closer look and realized it even had a 5G connection. No wonder Mo Chen had been sitting here watching videos this whole time!
“This is merely a small Inner World. Whatever I want to exist will exist.”
If anyone else had said that, it would have sounded a little pretentious. But when Mo Chen said it, he sounded as natural as someone saying they had gotten up at eight that morning.
Mo Chen looked Yun Jianyue up and down in her current disheveled state and sneered. “What a mess. Did you come to beg me for help?”
“Yes, yes, my dear husband. Hurry up and find the core of the Inner World so we can go home for New Year’s and make dumplings together.” Yun Jianyue was spouting nonsense as usual.
Mo Chen didn’t quite understand the human joke about making dumplings for New Year’s, so he immediately searched for it on a short-video app. After watching the result, he said thoughtfully, “You want to be reunited with me.”
“Huh?” Even a pervert like Yun Jianyue couldn’t quite follow Mo Chen’s train of thought.
“The phone says eating dumplings symbolizes reunion,” Mo Chen said with complete seriousness.
The corner of Yun Jianyue’s mouth twitched. “Self-study really can’t replace a proper education. When we get the chance, we should put you through nine years of compulsory education.”
Mo Chen’s mind seemed to suddenly reconnect with the earlier question. “Find the core of this Inner World yourself.”
“You’re really not going to help?” Yun Jianyue asked.
“Don’t disturb me.” Mo Chen went back to watching videos.
Anyone who didn’t know better might have thought he was handling some important matter. In reality, his internet addiction had simply flared up, and he wanted to watch videos.
Yun Jianyue snatched her phone back. “You still haven’t told me why you became the principal of Yunyi Middle School.”
Mo Chen snatched the phone back again. “After I entered the Inner World, my identity became that of the principal. At least the creator of this Inner World had enough sense to recognize my noble status.”
Yun Jianyue: …Damn it, this Evil God really deserved to die.
She had originally planned to take the principal hostage, but that option was now completely off the table.
Something suddenly occurred to her, and she snatched her phone back again. “Can you make anything I want appear?”
“I can’t make Si Wuming appear.” Mo Chen shut that idea down immediately.
“I wanted you to make a chainsaw appear for me, but the way you said that just gave me a new idea.” Yun Jianyue rubbed her chin. “You really can’t make Si Wuming appear?”
Mo Chen said, “No!”
Yun Jianyue sounded disappointed. “All right, then. Make me a chainsaw.”
At that very moment, at Hongdou Hotel.
Si Wuming was watching a livestream on his phone. In the stream, Yun Jianyue was asking Mo Chen to make him appear inside.
The other members of the Paranormal Bureau had seen the livestream too. The atmosphere was extremely serious, but they were all struggling to hold back their laughter.
“Keep looking for the entrance.” Si Wuming coldly put away his phone and addressed the others.
Si Wuming’s words carried even more weight than those of Cai Zeyu, the team leader. Everyone immediately composed themselves, split into groups of two or three, and scattered to search for the entrance to the Inner World.
Inside the Inner World.
Mo Chen suddenly raised his head and looked toward an empty spot in midair. Then his lips curved into a smile.
The comments began flying past so quickly that the stream nearly froze.
[The Little Song 2 Is So Handsome Ahhh: Holy crap, that smile is way too seductive! Mom, I love him!]
[Great Master Wang Juan, My Eternal God: No! Why do I feel like he knows he’s being livestreamed? He’s smiling right at the camera!]
[Even Pu Songling Would Be Furious: Is no one paying attention to the fact that he said he can make things appear?!]
[The Vast Horizon Is My Love: The weirdest part is that, even now, nobody knows why the livestream is still going, or who’s actually streaming it!]
“What are you looking at?” Yun Jianyue followed Mo Chen’s gaze, but she couldn’t see anything.
Mo Chen withdrew his gaze and pointed toward a small partitioned room inside the office. “The chainsaws are in there.”
Yun Jianyue promptly slipped into the little room.
Mo Chen looked back toward the spot from before and let out a soft scoff. “So it was following her.”
Inside the partitioned room, Yun Jianyue stared at the five large crates packed full of chainsaws and suddenly felt something strange.
Marriage really was wonderful…
“But didn’t I only bring two chainsaws to begin with?” Yun Jianyue stuck her head out and looked at Mo Chen. “Where did all these come from?”
Mo Chen replied casually, “I just moved over the inventory of a hardware store.”
Yun Jianyue: “???”
“Everything has a cause. Nothing can be created out of thin air. Gods are no exception,” Mo Chen explained.
Yun Jianyue said, “That’s not what I wanted you to explain. I wanted to know which hardware store you took them from. I’ll go pay them later.”
Mo Chen clicked his tongue. “Humans are such a hassle.”
Then he told her the name of the hardware store.
Yun Jianyue searched through Mo Chen’s office for a large bag, crammed two chainsaws inside, and carried another one in her hand. She tucked the baseball bat into her waistband.
Seeing Yun Jianyue fully armed, Mo Chen grew curious. “What are you going to do?”
Yun Jianyue bared her teeth in a grin.
“Send every last one of them to hell.”
Mo Chen raised an eyebrow but made no comment, continuing to scroll through videos on his phone.
There were more than three hundred faculty and staff members at this school. Since Yun Jianyue wanted to go get herself killed, he couldn’t be bothered to stop her. He could intervene once she was on the verge of death.
Yun Jianyue left the principal’s office and made her way back to the detention room. One swing of the baseball bat was enough to smash the lock apart.
Zhou Benxin immediately opened the detention-room door and looked at Yun Jianyue in delight. “Senior, you’re finally back!”
“Lu Changxue, take Qiao Yiyi and Fei Dan and hide in the principal’s office. Zhou Benxin and Song Lu, you’re coming with me.”
Yun Jianyue briefly explained what was going on with Mo Chen in the principal’s office.
“What about Hu Qi? He’s still unconscious.” Although Qiao Yiyi had already made up her mind to break up with him, they had dated for so long that she couldn’t bring herself to abandon Hu Qi here.
“It’s fine. He won’t die here,” Yun Jianyue said.
Lu Changxue immediately took responsibility for her task and led the two girls stealthily toward the principal’s office.
In the night wind, Song Lu hugged his bare arms. “Why can’t I go hide too?”
“We have to fight alongside Senior! Weren’t you the one who said we couldn’t stand by and watch a girl get bullied?” Zhou Benxin said, brimming with righteous fervor.
Song Lu looked suspiciously at Yun Jianyue. “Her? A girl?”
Yun Jianyue looked down at her impressively upright chest and asked in confusion, “Is it really that hard to tell? I think my figure is pretty good.”
“…You’re right about everything,” Song Lu conceded.
After handing everyone a chainsaw from the backpack, Yun Jianyue made her objective clear. “Come on. We’re going to the security office first.”
On the pitch-black sports field, a petite girl led two bare-chested men toward the security office, each of them gripping a chainsaw and marching with great purpose.
At that moment, more than a dozen security guards were seated around two tables inside the security office. One table was playing mahjong, while the other was playing three-card poker.
The security office was thick with smoke, and the smell of cigarettes and alcohol was painfully pungent. The guards, however, didn’t find it unpleasant in the slightest. To them, this was paradise.
The three of them crouched beneath the security-office window. Yun Jianyue carefully poked her head up to look inside and saw that only four guards still had their stun batons on them. The rest had left theirs in a corner by the door.
The security-office door was ajar, not locked from the inside.
“Senior, should we charge in now?” Zhou Benxin asked quietly.
Yun Jianyue handed her chainsaw to Zhou Benxin to hold and whispered, “Stay here for now. Wait for my signal.”
Zhou Benxin and Song Lu crouched silently in the corner like mice while Yun Jianyue hunched over and stealthily pushed the security-office door open a crack.
Taking advantage of her slender, long arms, Yun Jianyue quietly stole the stun batons by the door one after another.
Before long, Song Lu was hugging a huge bundle of stun batons.
“There’s only one left…” Song Lu’s heartbeat grew faster and faster. He couldn’t help holding his breath as he waited for Yun Jianyue to steal the final baton.
Yun Jianyue’s hand successfully reached the last stun baton. But just as she pulled it away, a guard who had just won a mahjong hand noticed something strange.
“Who is that?!”
At the furious shout, the guards instantly stopped playing and all turned toward the door, their eyes fixed on the slender, delicate arm mottled with purple bruises.
Yun Jianyue swiftly pulled out the last stun baton and shoved it into Song Lu’s arms. “You two, get these batons to the boys’ dormitory!”
At the same time, Yun Jianyue took back the chainsaw and gripped it in her hand.
The two men had barely run off when the security-office door was yanked open. More than a dozen vicious-looking security guards glared fixedly at Yun Jianyue.
Yun Jianyue started up the chainsaw and smiled sweetly. “Hello, everyone. Good evening~”
