Chapter 80
Chapter 80
Xia Sheng ignored Shen Shen’s pleas for mercy and decided she would go back to Jiang Zhongqing later to discuss producing weight-loss pills.
Shen Shen wiped its tears, looking utterly wronged.
Being a ginseng was exhausting.
Downstairs.
Jiang Shaobai was led in by Nanny Wang and happened to run into Shen Yanchen coming down from upstairs.
The moment he noticed his friend’s slightly reddened lips, Jiang Shaobai couldn’t help shaking his head and sighing. “Morals are declining by the day. People just aren’t what they used to be.
“An old geezer flirting with a tender young thing. Truly shameless. Utterly shameless.”
Shen Yanchen gave him a cold sideways glance. “What are you doing here so late?”
“What, I can’t come by just to see you and strengthen our bond?” Jiang Shaobai’s peach blossom eyes curved, his smile carrying a distinctly annoying edge. “I heard from Shen Ze that you found yourself an eighteen-year-old girl. Where is she? Bring her out so I can have a look.”
Shen Yanchen refused flatly. “She doesn’t like meeting strangers.”
“Tsk. You’re guarding her that closely? It’s not like I’m going to steal her from you.” After a couple of complaints, Jiang Shaobai’s expression turned serious. “Yanchen, I know you’re probably not the type to throw your power around.
“But the girl is only eighteen, after all. Shen Ze said she’s still in school too. Don’t be like those little bastards in the rich second-generation circles, dragging someone into bed while they’re still so young.”
“I know where to draw the line.”
Jiang Shaobai raised a brow. “You know where to draw the line, yet you were holding her on the balcony and making out with her?”
Shen Yanchen looked at him coolly. “How do you know she and I were on the balcony?”
Jiang Shaobai answered as if it were only natural. “Because Shen Ze took a photo of you two and posted it in our little group chat, of course. If I hadn’t seen that photo, I wouldn’t have known you were such an old pervert who likes girls this young.
“You usually look so proper. Who knew that in private, you were actually like this…”
“Oh?” Shen Yanchen’s eyes turned faintly cold. “A photo? A little group chat?”
Hearing the danger in Shen Yanchen’s voice, Jiang Shaobai shuddered from head to toe. Belatedly, he realized he seemed to have revealed a secret he shouldn’t have.
He coughed and said, “That group is just for sharing little bits and pieces of our daily lives. There’s really nothing much in it.”
Shen Yanchen said, “Is that so? Then add me too. I’d like to share.”
Jiang Shaobai: “…”
That group was specifically for talking behind Shen Yanchen’s back. How could they possibly add Shen Yanchen to it?
Sweat broke out on Jiang Shaobai’s forehead. He laughed awkwardly and said, “Come on, most of the time we just talk about photos of beautiful women in swimsuits and stuff. Don’t you hate looking at those kinds of things?”
Shen Yanchen said, “I like them. Add me.”
Jiang Shaobai: “…”
Before he could say anything else, a delicate, slender figure came down from upstairs.
The girl wore a simple T-shirt and jeans. She was on the thin side, with a refined, cool little face, flawless features, and skin so delicate it looked like it might break at a touch. Even in the entertainment industry, she would be an especially striking presence.
Just from her outfit, Jiang Shaobai recognized her as the girl in the photo kissing Shen Yanchen.
“Uncle Nine,” the girl called to Shen Yanchen in a clear, cool voice.
Shen Yanchen turned back and saw the girl standing on the steps.
He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he felt that the girl’s expression at that moment was colder than it had ever been before.
Xia Sheng’s dark eyes fixed on Shen Yanchen. “You like looking at beautiful women in swimsuits?”
Shen Yanchen: “…”
Jiang Shaobai couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.
Shen Yanchen shot Jiang Shaobai a chilly look. Jiang Shaobai shuddered all over and immediately stopped laughing. He coughed, then tactfully explained on Shen Yanchen’s behalf, “You’ve misunderstood. Yanchen was just joking with me earlier.”
Xia Sheng said nothing either way, her small face still cool and indifferent.
Shen Yanchen walked over to the girl, took her hand, and pulled her to his side. In a gentle voice, he asked, “I told you to wait upstairs for me. Why did you come down?”
Xia Sheng replied with heavy sarcasm, “If I hadn’t come down, I never would have known Uncle Nine was into beauties in swimsuits.”
Shen Yanchen: “…”
Jiang Shaobai raised an eyebrow.
This little girl was pretty jealous.
Shen Yanchen cupped Xia Sheng’s face, bent down, and kissed her lightly on the lips. In a low voice, he said, “I’m not. I don’t look at those things.”
Xia Sheng remembered something Ning Xi often said in her ear. “A man’s mouth is a lying ghost.”
Shen Yanchen pulled her into his arms, his lips brushing against her ear as he coaxed her. “I’m not lying to you. If you don’t believe me, you can check my phone.”
The moment he finished speaking, Xia Sheng actually held out her hand, looking as if she really intended to inspect his phone.
Shen Yanchen smiled helplessly and handed it straight to her.
His daily life was fairly simple. Other than some work files and landscape photos, there was nothing else on his phone, so he was not afraid of Xia Sheng checking it.
Off to the side, Jiang Shaobai watched as Shen Yanchen actually handed his phone over to Xia Sheng, and he was immediately stunned.
One had to understand that for someone of Shen Yanchen’s status, his phone was undoubtedly his most private possession. Who knew how many confidential company documents and family secrets were hidden inside?
If any of those things got out, the losses to the Shen Family would be immeasurable.
He had never expected Shen Yanchen to hand his phone to Xia Sheng so easily.
Xia Sheng checked Shen Yanchen’s phone and found that it was mostly full of random landscape photos, along with some screenshots of documents. Even his WeChat contacts were basically all work partners.
She swiped around casually and discovered a private album in the gallery that required a password to open.
Xia Sheng placed the phone back in front of Shen Yanchen. “What’s in this album?”
At the sight of that album, Shen Yanchen’s usually steady expression showed a rare hint of strangeness. “It’s just some random photos. There’s nothing worth seeing.”
Xia Sheng had only asked offhand at first, but seeing him hedge like that made her curious instead. “Open it. Let me see.”
Shen Yanchen hesitated. “Let’s not.”
Xia Sheng was rarely this persistent. “No.”
Shen Yanchen looked at Xia Sheng for a while, then sighed helplessly and entered the password.
The album opened. Xia Sheng had thought she would see the kind of “study materials” boys liked to look at, but instead, she found that every single photo was of her.
There were over a hundred candid photos, basically all of her everyday life at school.
Xia Sheng froze completely.
Jiang Shaobai was also rather speechless.
Those company documents worth over a billion yuan, Shen Yanchen had just openly let Xia Sheng see.
But he had actually set a password specifically for his candid photos of Xia Sheng.
Was he sure this wasn’t perverted?
Xia Sheng turned her eyes toward Shen Yanchen and asked, “Why do you have so many photos of me on your phone?”
Without changing expression, Shen Yanchen said, “Shen Ze took all of these and shared them with me. I don’t know why he sent me these photos either.”
Jiang Shaobai: “…”
Are you damn sure you don’t know??
Xia Sheng frowned. She had not expected Shen Ze to have a hobby of secretly photographing other people.
It seemed she would have to give him a proper lesson later.
After finishing her inspection, Xia Sheng returned the phone to Shen Yanchen.
