Chapter 47

The next day at noon, Xia Sheng received a call from Wu Yuhan asking if she was free. She wanted to bring a friend over to see her for a fortune reading.

Xia Sheng agreed to meet her at a cafe outside the school.

When she arrived, Wu Yuhan and her friend were already waiting.

Xia Sheng pulled out a chair and sat down. “Madam Fang, have you been feeling any better lately?”

Wu Yuhan smiled. “Thanks to you helping me last time, I’ve pretty much recovered.”

If Xia Sheng hadn’t helped her summon the soul, she would probably have been obliterated inside the Soul-Locking Formation by now.

After a few simple pleasantries, Wu Yuhan introduced her friend. “This is my business partner, Bai Sha. There’s something she wants you to calculate for her.”

Xia Sheng’s gaze settled on Bai Sha.

Bai Sha was thirty-five, tall and slender.

She had a neat, shoulder-length bob; her demeanor was poised and mature, with an air of quiet elegance.

She smiled at Xia Sheng. “Yuhan told me you’re extremely accurate-and that you even predicted she’ll have a child next year.

“Could you take a look for me? Is there any chance I could get pregnant?”

She had been diagnosed with infertility a long time ago. After marrying her husband, she had gone to doctors and taken medicine continuously, but nothing improved. That was why she decided to come to Xia Sheng for an answer.

Xia Sheng said, “Your Children Palace is weak. It’s almost impossible for you to conceive. If you really want a child, you can consider adoption.”

Bai Sha’s spirits sank visibly. “There’s truly not even the slightest possibility?”

“None.”

Wu Yuhan squeezed her friend’s hand, comforting her. “It’s okay. Don’t be upset. If you decide to adopt, I’ll go with you when the time comes.”

Bai Sha nodded, quickly steadied herself, and looked back at Xia Sheng.

“Little Celestial Master, I actually have another reason for coming today.

“Recently, I keep feeling like my home is… kind of creepy. It’s the middle of summer, and there’s clearly no wind, but it still feels like cold air is constantly blowing.

“Ever since I started noticing it, I’ve been getting sick over and over-little illnesses, big ones, several times.

“A few days ago I even moved, but I still feel the same way, like the place is freezing. Could you help me figure out what’s going on? Did I pick up something unclean?”

Xia Sheng studied her face and replied, “The Green Dragon under the eyebrows has turned dark. Your household is unsettled. You have indeed run into something evil.

“But it wasn’t drawn to you on its own. Someone deliberately summoned something yin and wicked, trying to harm you.

“Luckily, that person’s techniques are crude. What they called over is just an ordinary ghost. At most, the Yin Energy is a bit heavy-it can give you fevers and colds, but it won’t do any serious harm.”

Bai Sha frowned. “Little Celestial Master, the person trying to harm me… could it be my husband’s woman on the side?”

Bai Sha had been married for five years to a man eight years younger than her.

They had always been very affectionate, but lately she had begun to sense something off about her husband.

He had originally been an employee at her company, and his family circumstances weren’t great. After marrying her, he stopped going out to work.

She ran her own company, so supporting one idle husband was no hardship. She let him lounge around at home and gave him a monthly allowance of over a hundred thousand yuan.

In the past, his daily routine was simply going out with male friends from the neighborhood to fish, ski, and do other recreational activities. He never got close to other women.

But recently, she would occasionally find a woman’s hair on his clothes, and she often caught a faint perfume scent.

Her husband explained that one of his fishing buddies had brought his wife along to hang out at their fishing spot, and that with a bit of unavoidable contact, those things could end up on him.

Bai Sha didn’t want to suspect her husband, so she didn’t dig into it any further-but the seed of doubt had already been planted in her heart.
When Xia Sheng mentioned that her household was in turmoil due to a villain, Bai Sha’s first reaction was that another woman was having an affair with her husband and wanted to make her disappear to take her place.

However, Xia Sheng gave a negative answer. “I don’t know if your husband is having an affair or has a mistress, but I can be certain that the person trying to harm you is your husband, and no one else.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Sha felt a momentary surge of emotion, but the upbringing etched into her bones allowed her to remain calm.

“Little Celestial Master, my husband and I have lived together for five years. He has always been wonderful to me. How could he possibly want to harm me?

“Over the years, I’ve sought medical help everywhere due to infertility issues. My husband has been by my side the entire time without a single word of complaint.

“I have seen his character with my own eyes.”

“You may know a person’s face, but not their heart,” Xia Sheng said, her delicate face expressionless. “You trust him so much, but are you unaware that he has already transferred hundreds of thousands from your accounts?”

All things in the universe are interconnected.

Xia Sheng had never met Bai Sha’s husband and couldn’t calculate whether the man was having an affair, but she could calculate the various large and small entanglements between the couple.

Listening to Xia Sheng, Bai Sha subconsciously wanted to argue.

But the words died in her throat.

She had actually been vaguely aware of her husband’s little maneuvers.

However, since he had only secretly spent a few hundred thousand of her money-which wasn’t a large sum to her-she had forced herself not to care.

Now that Xia Sheng had brought it up, she could no longer continue to deceive herself.

The man who claimed to love her had actually harbored other intentions long ago.

Seeing that Bai Sha remained silent, Xia Sheng continued, “Your recent physical discomfort is because your husband intentionally had a feng shui master alter the energy in your home to attract vengeful spirits.

“He carries a Talisman on him, so he isn’t afraid of those evil entities getting close. You have no protection, so once those spirits are summoned, they only harm you.

“If you don’t want anything to happen to you, you’d better divorce that ‘phoenix man’ as soon as possible. Otherwise, I’m afraid something even worse will happen later.”

Bai Sha remained silent.

Seeing her friend in a bad mood, Wu Yuhan felt distressed as well, but she maintained a firm stance. “Sha Sha, you must cut ties when it’s time.”

Back when Bai Sha married Wang Songjiang, Wu Yuhan had warned her that the man might have approached her specifically for her money.

However, Bai Sha had always been an independent woman; once she made up her mind, she wouldn’t doubt herself, and she had insisted on marrying Wang Songjiang.

Over the past few years, Bai Sha and Wang Songjiang’s relationship had seemed excellent, but Wu Yuhan always felt that Wang Songjiang’s intentions were impure.

Since her friend loved him, Wu Yuhan had kept her prejudices to herself to avoid ruining their relationship.

Fortunately, she had brought her friend to see Xia Sheng today. Otherwise, Wu Yuhan truly couldn’t imagine what that phoenix man might have done to her friend in the future.

After a long silence, Bai Sha said to Xia Sheng, “Thank you, Little Celestial Master. I will go back and investigate this thoroughly.

“If Wang Songjiang really did those things, I will contact a lawyer immediately and divorce him.”

She had never been an indecisive woman.

When she loved someone, she could give everything and trust unconditionally.

But when faced with betrayal, she would handle it cleanly and decisively.

She had wealth and beauty; what kind of man couldn’t she find? Why hang herself from a single crooked tree?

Adjusting her mood, Bai Sha continued, “Little Celestial Master, could I trouble you to come with me today to help adjust the feng shui of my home?”
