Old Madam Sun replied confidently, “Master Xuanqing is someone I only managed to track down after asking around through quite a few people. His skills are exceptional. There definitely won’t be any problem.
“If even he can’t get rid of the evil spirit hurting Xuanxuan, then who could? Don’t tell me you really think that little charlatan from the other day could save Xuanxuan?”
Madam Sun wanted to say that Li Shengsheng had seemed far more reliable than this Old Charlatan, but with the master standing right in front of her, she couldn’t very well be that blunt. She could only fall silent and keep watching.
Master Xuanqing held a compass in one hand and a peach wood sword in the other, muttering, “I invoke the righteous qi of heaven and earth as my guide, and the might of the Supreme Dao Ancestor as my authority. In the next instant, a shrill, miserable scream rang through the entire room.
Madam Sun jumped in fright, while Old Madam Sun’s eyes lit up with excitement. Overjoyed, she said, “Just as I thought! I knew Daoist Xuanqing’s abilities were extraordinary. He’d definitely be able to catch the evil spirit that’s been tormenting my grandson!
“Daoist Xuanqing, hurry and destroy that evil spirit! Whatever reward you want, I’ll agree to it!”
But unlike Old Madam Sun’s excitement, Daoist Xuanqing’s face had gone deathly pale, as if he had just seen something horrifying.

The next instant, some unseen force hurled him away. He smashed straight through the ward door and flew out into the hallway.
The back of his head slammed into the wall, and he blacked out on the spot.
“Daoist Xuanqing!” Old Madam Sun cried out in shock and hurried forward to check on him.
But after only a few steps, she saw a Ghostly Figure gradually come into focus before her.
Old Madam Sun gave a start and quickly backed away.
Yet once she got a clear look at the Ghostly Figure’s face, her pupils contracted slightly, and she immediately began cursing harshly. “You little bastard, so you’re the one harming my grandson! You idiot brat-even in death, you’re still out here doing evil! Let’s see if I don’t beat you to death today!”
In the middle of the room, the ghostly boy stood there blankly. When he saw the old lady rushing at him, an adorable, simple smile spread across his face.
