Chapter 131
Chapter 131
Although I couldn’t control my body, my consciousness remained clear.
I felt Du Yuwei’s brutality firsthand.
She had actually ripped someone’s head clean off!
A headless corpse crashed to the ground, the head rolling away to the side.
My heart pounded at the sight. This kind of visual impact was more intense than any foreign horror movie I had ever seen.
But at this moment, I wasn’t thinking about Du Yuwei’s ruthlessness.
I was thinking about how absolute power could truly crush anything.
She took a life just like that!
The remaining man’s expression turned to one of terror, but he clearly had some skill; he didn’t run or retreat.
He stared at me warily and said, “You’ve already killed people. You’ve killed at least six, and you’ve swallowed six souls.”
My heart jolted.
Du Yuwei had already killed six people?
No wonder that Talisman couldn’t pin her down earlier.
“Did Du Ruhai send you?” Du Yuwei spoke, but it was my mouth that opened.
The man nodded. “Boss Du just wants you to come back. There’s a man outside named Old Zhao Seven who wants to kill you. President Du is protecting you.”
“You should know in your heart who treats you well. Just come back with me quietly and stop killing people. Otherwise, it won’t just be Old Zhao Seven coming after you; there are plenty of people like him.”
These words were meant to persuade Du Yuwei, but there was no way she would listen. Her hatred for Du Ruhai was irreconcilable.
What this man said did nothing but provoke her.
“You’re not going back.”
Du Yuwei’s icy voice rang out again. “You’re next.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she manipulated my body to kill again.
The man looked like he was facing a great enemy, yet he didn’t panic at all. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a Buddha statue.
This statue was the exact same Evil Buddha I had seen on Baishi Mountain. Unlike the stone carvings on the mountain, however, this Evil Buddha’s eyes were actually red.
It wasn’t just a layer of red paint; they looked alive. I could even faintly see pupils.
I was startled. Through Du Yuwei, I could even see an aura emanating from this Evil Buddha.
It seemed to be alive!
At that moment, Du Yuwei had already forced my body to charge forward, but something in the air seemed to strike my stomach. I was instantly repelled, tumbling several times across the ground.
I groaned inwardly, wondering what the hell this thing was and why it had such a strong suppressive effect on a Ghost.
Old Zhao Seven said the Mother-Child Shade was incredibly powerful, but could this thing be even more powerful?
I was getting scared. If Du Yuwei was captured and taken back, she might not die a second time, but I certainly would.
“Did you think we would come to catch you unprepared? Even though a mother-and-child evil spirit is formidable, you’ve still killed too few people.”
As the man spoke, he suddenly bit his finger and smeared blood onto the eyes of the Evil Buddha.
Du Yuwei tried to control my body to continue the attack, but I remained still. I struggled and broke free from her control.
I felt as if I were hallucinating. I saw the Evil Buddha project a phantom-a phantom over three meters tall. Moreover, the image of this phantom was the exact likeness of that Evil Buddha.
What did it mean to be over three meters tall? Even a cat scaled up to three meters would have the presence of a monster, capable of swatting an elephant to death.
A profound fear instantly welled up in my heart. Anyone would be terrified by a three-meter-tall presence; I reckoned even if Old Zhao Seven were here, he’d be crushed to death.
Ignoring everything else, I directly reclaimed control of my body from Du Yuwei and fled, dragging her along with me.
“Why are you running!”
Du Yuwei’s voice rang in my ear.
“Why wouldn’t I run?” I snapped back. “You’re clearly no match for that Evil Buddha. If we get caught and dragged back there, we’re both finished. Do you really want to go back and be tortured?”
My ear went silent for a few seconds before Du Yuwei spoke again: “Then keep running…”
I wanted to run-to get as far away from this place as possible-but how could that man let us go?
I had already covered quite a distance when a heavy punch slammed into my back. It felt like a car hitting me at fifty miles per hour, and I was sent flying forward.
Fortunately, Du Yuwei took control of my body again, performing a forward roll to dissipate the force and stabilize my stance.
But the moment I turned around, the man was already upon me. He delivered a kick straight to my chest, sending me flying once more.
I crashed heavily onto the ground. Only then did I see that his eyes had turned red. It was as if he were possessed by that Evil Buddha; his face was devoid of any emotion, radiating only a divine, cold majesty.
What kind of Buddha is this? He’s more like a damn monster!
“Big sister, why aren’t you fighting back? Give it everything you’ve got!” I hurriedly communicated with Du Yuwei, urging her to act.
But her response chilled my heart.
“I can’t beat the thing inside him…”
Before I could even drop to my knees and beg for mercy, the man rushed forward again and began a brutal assault. Judging by his momentum, it seemed he intended to beat me into submission before taking me back.
If only Song Xiaotian were here. If Song Xiaotian were here, this guy wouldn’t have even had the chance to get possessed.
I was being beaten miserably; it was a pathetic sight.
Du Yuwei tried to fight back, but her efforts were futile-and besides, I was the one feeling the physical pain, not her.
I was driven to desperation. They say even a cornered dog will jump over a wall, and this so-called Buddha was treating me like livestock.
“I’ll kill you!”
I lunged forward and grabbed the man around the waist, intending to pull a Meng Yifan and give him a body slam. But I couldn’t budge him. He looked thinner than me, yet his body felt like it weighed over a thousand pounds. Instead, he was the one who slammed me into the ground.
It was lucky Du Yuwei was inside me; otherwise, that hit would have left me crippled, if not dead.
I lay on the ground, looking up at him in despair.
It really was over this time. Even with Du Yuwei, it was useless. I was going to fall back into Du Ruhai’s hands.
That old pervert would torture me to death.
But just then, the man suddenly shuddered. His eyes instantly snapped back to normal, and his expression twisted as if he were severely constipated.
I stared behind him in disbelief. Just a second or two ago, a woman who looked exactly like Du Yuwei had dropped from a tree and plunged a knife into the man’s lower back. I’m pretty sure she got him right in the kidney.
The man’s body went limp immediately. He clutched his waist and collapsed onto the ground, staring back at the woman with a look of agony and resentment.
“You… you bitch… you stabbed my kidney…”
The woman was Anning, Du Yuwei’s twin sister. She wasn’t wearing her usual long black dress today; instead, she was in a black tactical outfit with her hair tied in a high ponytail, giving off a sharp, authoritative vibe.
These twins were truly uncanny. Every time I saw her, it was like looking at a living version of Du Yuwei.
“What are you standing there for? Let’s go. Their people are still outside,” Anning said to me.
I scrambled up from the ground and, for good measure, delivered a spiteful stomp right to the man’s crotch.
He let out a howl, his eyes rolling back in pain. I wanted to finish him off with a knife, but I didn’t have the stomach for murder.
Anning grabbed my hand and pulled me into a dead run.
