After hearing Deaf Granny’s explanation, Chen Daji immediately threw the jade far away.
“Qianyue, sis, hurry and get me some water to wash my hands. This is freaking disgusting!”
Chen Fu’s reaction was even more intense; he ran to the corner of the wall and began retching violently.
Deaf Granny didn’t understand and looked toward Hua Jiunan with a puzzled expression.
“Granny, when Uncle Chen had nothing better to do, he used to keep that jade by his mouth and kiss it…”
As soon as those words came out, even Wang San, who was standing nearby, felt a wave of nausea.
Chen Daji thumped his father’s back to keep him from choking while asking, “Granny, you said Nine Orifices Jade is supposed to be on dead people. How could it be dug up from our family’s mine?”
This was indeed a valid question, and for a moment, even Deaf Granny couldn’t guess the reason.
Just then, Chen Fu’s phone rang.

Chen Fu had sent someone to install the landline a few days ago, and Deaf Granny’s family hadn’t used it yet.

Chen Fu ran outside even as he spoke.

Watching the car drive into the distance, Chen Daji’s face was full of worry. “Granny, nothing bad will happen to my family, right?”
Deaf Granny stood up and went to the side room to light incense for the various Immortal Spirits.

Deaf Granny didn’t notice and told Wang Qianyue to go get two more wine glasses.
“Pour some for your two brothers. This old woman is happy today, so let’s all drink a bit as a family.”
Wang San muttered, “Xiao Jiu and the other are still in school. Is it okay for them to drink?”
Deaf Granny didn’t care at all. “Why wouldn’t it be okay!”

Chen Daji’s face fell instantly, but he immediately forced a smile. “Grandma, I’m coming right now!”
“I even brought you something delicious!”
Looking at the large pile of spicy strips Chen Daji was clutching in his hands, Hua Jiunan wondered to himself: *Will that stuff actually work…*
