Chapter 112
Chapter 112
Wearing her Red High Heels, Ms. Song hummed a little tune as she circled the room several times.
As she walked, she kicked aside the chairs that had fallen over and blocked her path.
“Where is my little treasure? Mommy sees you…”
Ms. Song spoke in a gentle tone as she slowly approached the bed.
Noticing a crease in the bedsheet, Ms. Song covered her mouth and let out a soft giggle.
She was almost certain there was someone in this room.
“Are you… in here?!”
Ms. Song whipped back the bedsheet, her eyes wide with pleasant surprise as she looked under the bed.
Seeing that the space under the bed was empty, Ms. Song couldn’t help but curl her lip, her expression dissatisfied.
She let go of the sheet with a resentful huff and straightened her back.
The grip she had tightened around her dagger slowly relaxed.
“Come out quickly, little one! If you come out on your own, Mommy won’t be mad at you~ But if Mommy catches you…”
A section of the nearby Curtain was bulging outward.
Ms. Song’s gaze flickered toward it. She took a few steps, nonchalantly approaching the window.
“If Mommy catches you, you’re going to be turned into ketchup~”
A chilling coldness seeped into Ms. Song’s gaze.
With a wicked smile, she reached out and pulled the Curtain open with a sharp *whoosh*.
There was nothing behind the Curtain.
There was only the open window and the cold wind streaming inside.
“Tsk, tsk. Not under the bed, and not behind the Curtain… then where else could you be hiding?”
“For example… the wardrobe?”
Ms. Song’s footsteps slowly drew closer to the wardrobe.
Jiang Li held her breath and covered her nose and mouth, not daring to make a sound.
The *tap-tap-tap* of Ms. Song’s high heels stopped right in front of the wardrobe.
She gripped her dagger and pressed the tip of the blade against the wardrobe door.
“Little treasure, are you hiding inside the cabinet?”
The dagger in Ms. Song’s hand carved a long, deep score across the outside of the door.
She stopped at the center of the door and reached out, about to pull it open.
Right at that moment.
The sound of running water suddenly echoed from the Toilet.
“Who is it?!”
Ms. Song’s voice was filled with pleasant surprise.
She tightened her grip on the dagger and her high heels went *tap-tap-tap* as she headed toward the Toilet.
Ms. Song pushed open the door.
The sound of water was coming from behind the Shower Curtain.
Through the thin layer of the Shower Curtain, Ms. Song could see a swaying silhouette inside.
Ms. Song placed her hand on the Shower Curtain.
“Oh, little treasure, are you hiding here again? Then Mommy is coming in…”
The sound of water in the bathroom didn’t stop.
Through the Shower Curtain, the black figure inside began to tremble even more noticeably.
“Mommy will give you one chance. Do you want to come out yourself?”
The person behind the Shower Curtain did not respond.
Ms. Song didn’t get angry; instead, her lips curled into a playful smile.
In just two seconds, the light in her eyes shifted from gentle to bloodthirsty.
Then, she aimed the dagger at the black figure’s chest and lunged forward, stabbing inward.
Ms. Song’s body followed the momentum of the strike.
However, the expected sound of a blade piercing flesh never came.
There was only the torn-down Shower Curtain and a black Raincoat that hit the floor.
The Raincoat, covered in dried bloodstains, had been hanging under the showerhead.
As the water hit the Raincoat, it swayed slightly.
Following the hem of the Raincoat, the water pooling on the floor was stained a faint red.
“Damn it, I forgot about the time the water got cut off while I was washing clothes here…”
Ms. Song’s attack had hit nothing but air, and her hair was now soaked.
She resentfully turned off the showerhead, wiped the water from her face, and left the bathroom with a grim expression.
Ms. Song returned to the wardrobe.
Jiang Li felt as though her heartbeat was loud enough to be heard.
This time.
Ms. Song didn’t open the wardrobe door.
Instead, with a face full of rage, she raised her dagger and began stabbing through the slats of the louvered door, one thrust after another.
Again and again.
Every strike was filled with both testing and hatred.
Jiang Li curled her body into a ball and closed her eyes.
When Ms. Song’s knife reached the smallest compartment at the bottom of the wardrobe, there was a *squelch*-the sound of a blade sinking into flesh.
Ms. Song’s expression shifted to one of shock.
She pulled out the dagger.
The tip of the blade was clearly stained with blood.
Ms. Song’s eyes lit up.
“Little treasure, so you were here after all~”
“Mommy finally… found… you!”
Ms. Song gripped her knife and began stabbing into the cabinet with even more viciousness.
A muffled groan of pain drifted out from inside the wardrobe.
“Hahaha! This is good. This way, the blood won’t splash onto Mommy’s Raincoat! Hahahaha!”
A few stray drops of blood sprayed through the slats of the louvered door, splattering onto Ms. Song’s fair skin.
It made the frantic woman look particularly hideous.
After a full two minutes of stabbing, the thing inside had completely stopped moving.
Watching the live broadcast, Jiang Lianlian’s piercing laughter echoed throughout the intensive care ward.
“Ahahaha! Jiang Li is dead!! Jiang Li is finally dead!!”
“I’m not in pain, I’m perfectly fine… The function failed, hahahaha!!”
A psychiatrist passing by the door couldn’t help but stop when he heard the crazed laughter.
Inside the ward, Jiang Lianlian continued to watch the live broadcast, laughing maniacally.
She clutched her stomach, laughing so hard she was gasping for air, tears streaming down her face.
In the Live Streaming Room.
Ms. Song didn’t stop until the thing inside was silent. She finally tossed the dagger aside, rotated her wrist, and took a breath.
With an elegant sway of her hips, she went into the room and grabbed an unopened bottle of mineral water.
She twisted it open and poured it over her face, washing the bloodstains from her skin.
Then, she tossed the bottle aside, walked over to the wardrobe where blood was pooling on the floor, and pulled open the door.
The wardrobe door opened with a creak.
A Curly-Haired Woman covered in dog fur was dragged out by Ms. Song.
The Curly-Haired Woman’s eyes were weary, and she was at death’s door.
Ms. Song snapped her fingers.
The dark red light in the hallway vanished, replaced by warm overhead lighting.
[A player has been successfully captured. A player has been successfully captured.]
[This round of the game has ended! This round of the game has ended!]
The electronic screens in the hallway began to broadcast the announcement.
Hearing the noise outside, Jiang Li pushed open a cabinet door and crawled out.
She was currently in Room 318.
Earlier, she had originally gone to Room 320.
However, the moment she had opened the wardrobe door there, her eyes had met those of the pitiable, shivering Curly-Haired Woman huddled inside clutching her knees.
Jiang Li instantly realized that the room might not be safe.
If for no other reason, the electronic dog collar around the Curly-Haired Woman’s neck felt wrong to her.
Electronic products… God only knew if there was a Tracking Device inside.
So, Jiang Li had immediately left Room 320.
At that time, the countdown alarm in the hallway was becoming increasingly urgent.
Seeing that the neighboring Balcony was very close, Jiang Li had climbed directly over the Balcony to the adjacent room, Room 318.
In Room 318, Jiang Li hadn’t chosen the wardrobe; instead, she had opted for a low cupboard.
The cupboard was positioned against the wall shared with Room 320, making it easy to eavesdrop on the activity next door.
If Ms. Song really could use tracking to find the Curly-Haired Woman hidden in Room 320, it would prove that the dog collar was indeed a problem!
Jiang Li emerged from the cabinet safe and sound.
Because the live feed had been switching back and forth between Jiang Li and Ms. Song, the camera had happened to cut to Ms. Song right when Jiang Li was climbing over the Balcony.
Consequently, many viewers had mistakenly thought Jiang Li was still in the original room and had been killed.
Seeing that Jiang Li was fine now, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
But back in the ward, Jiang Lianlian, who had been laughing like a maniac, saw Jiang Li emerge unharmed, and her expression suddenly twisted.
With a loud *crack*, she slammed the remote control down.
The remote flew out and smashed the television screen in the ward.
“Ah!! Why!! You little bitch, why wasn’t it you who died!? Why wasn’t it you!!…”
Jiang Lianlian cursed through her tears.
The psychiatrist standing at the door could no longer remain a bystander.
The doctor entered the room with a nurse and restrained Jiang Lianlian, who had shifted from manic laughter to sobbing.
The doctor instructed, “The patient is mentally confused and emotionally unstable. Preliminary assessment: mania.”
“I’m not sick!! You’re the one who’s sick!! Let me go!!” Jiang Lianlian’s eyes were full of malice.
With her limbs pinned down by several nurses, she was like a mad dog, biting at anything she could reach.
The psychiatrist was standing close by, and Jiang Lianlian sank her teeth into his shoulder.
The bite was so deep it immediately drew blood.
The psychiatrist threw her off in pain.
“Lunatic! Take her to the electroshock room!” the doctor ordered.
A nurse nearby hesitated. “Dr. Chen, she hasn’t been officially diagnosed with a mental illness yet. Sending her for electroshock might not be appropriate…”
The doctor’s face darkened.
“Have you forgotten the Strange Tales that have invaded this hospital over the past six months? The rules state that anyone biting people in the hospital is to be handled as a psychiatric patient! Now go!”
“Yes, Dr. Chen.”
