Chapter 203
Chapter 203
(The next few chapters focus on Weiqing Song. Readers who would rather skip them, consider yourselves warned.)
Before Weiqing could even work out what Shengsheng Zhou and that thing meant by “A Fanboy’s Dream Come True,” his vision blurred.
When he came back to himself, he was no longer inside the carriage.
Noisy voices surrounded him, but what surprised Weiqing most was that he did not recognize a single person.
This appeared to be a corner of some private residence. Everyone hurrying past him was dressed like a servant.
After studying the fabric of their clothes, Weiqing deduced that the owner of the residence possessed a fairly noble status and came from a proper wealthy household.
He stepped forward and stopped someone about to pass him.
The man gave him an impatient look.
That one look made Weiqing narrow his eyes.
He had been the Crown Prince from birth, second only to one and above everyone else. Since when had a mere servant dared look at him that way?
“Where is Shengsheng Zhou?” he asked.
Who besides Shengsheng could possess the ability to move him from the carriage to another place in an instant?
But when the servant heard his question, he suddenly gave a sinister laugh and raked an ill-intentioned gaze over Weiqing from head to toe.
“Young miss, you’d better worry about yourself first. Once you’re sent to Crimson Delight Courtyard, I’ll be sure to request you and give you plenty of business.” He ran his tongue over his cracked lips, staring lewdly at Weiqing.
Weiqing silently withdrew his hand. He looked down at his perfectly flat chest, and his eye twitched.
Were these people blind?
For the first time in the life of the exalted Crown Prince Weiqing Song, someone had mistaken him for a woman.
This was intolerable. Even his aunt could not tolerate it!
He immediately strode forward and landed two resounding punches on that lecherous head.
“Ow! Damn you!”
Taken by surprise, the servant toppled to the ground and clutched his aching head. “She’s attacking someone! She’s attacking someone! That good-for-nothing young miss is attacking people!”
*Good-for-nothing, my ass.*
Weiqing kicked him again, and at last the servant hurt too badly to keep shouting.
But this was a busy thoroughfare. Combined with his earlier yells, the commotion drew quite a few people.
After an uproar, a group finally came trotting over. At their head was a large, thickset older woman. Before she even arrived, Weiqing heard her shrill, mean voice.
“You ungrateful wretch! Our family raised you all these years and even found you a fine place to go. How dare you beat the household servants?!”
Weiqing straightened. A cold smile hung from his lips as he asked, “Are you speaking to Us?”
The woman glared at him. It was as though she had not heard his royal form of address at all.
“Seize this wild girl! I’ve waited long enough. Take her to Madam Ma this instant!”
Three or four servants surrounded him, eyeing him hungrily with revolting expressions. Weiqing frowned.
At last, he understood that he never should have tried speaking to these blind fools.
He stretched out his arms and loosened his muscles, tilting his chin upward. The long, clean line of his throat stood out beneath it.
“We have not fought in quite some time. Come at Us together.”
The instant the words left his mouth, a voice rang inside his head.
*Fanboy himself detected. Martial strength is excessive and will interfere with the dream experience. Compulsory countermeasures initiated. Martial strength resetting to zero.*
*Reset complete.*
As the power drained from his body, all four of Weiqing’s limbs instantly went limp.
Weiqing: *…Shengsheng Zhou, you are dead.*
The servants saw him staring blankly at his palm and immediately prepared to pounce.
To their surprise, Weiqing suddenly raised his head and lifted a hand in a gesture that said, *Don’t come any closer.*
That sharp look, filled with force and the authority of one born to rule, made the servants stop in their tracks without thinking.
Huh?
Was this really the same good-for-nothing young miss?
“Never mind. I’ll go with you.” Weiqing Song shrugged helplessly.
It seemed he would have to cooperate for now. First, he needed to work out exactly where he was.
The older woman sneered inwardly when the person who had been so arrogant a moment ago suddenly became obedient. She ordered the servants to bind him with rope.
Weiqing struggled with all his might, but the rope did not budge. His expression darkened for an instant.
After they loaded him into a battered carriage, the woman smiled maliciously. “Miss Rou Jiang, Crimson Delight Courtyard is nothing like home. You had better behave yourself and listen to the madam.”
Her words left Weiqing looking as though lightning had struck him.
What! The! Hell?!
All right. He no longer needed to feel his way around.
Everything became clear in an instant.
Rou Jiang.
That was the heroine of the storybook he had been reading in the carriage.
His reason for buying the book had been very simple.
The summary had caught his attention.
“The God of War returns home to discover his daughter has been sold to a brothel. At his command, one hundred thousand retired warriors of Cathay storm the brothel for the God of War’s daughter–
“To boost her sales.”
The style had been so wildly different from every other storybook that Weiqing bought it without hesitation.
However, the story began from the God of War’s perspective. The entire first half described how he fought his battles, and the combat scenes had been exhilarating and wonderfully exciting.
Weiqing had not gotten around to reading the second half at all.
And his damned daughter being sold to a brothel happened in the second half!!
If the first chapter had not mentioned that the God of War’s daughter was named Rou Jiang, he would almost have forgotten that cursed summary!
He had actually entered the world inside the book.
Weiqing instantly understood what A Fanboy’s Dream Come True meant. He ground his teeth.
*We truly thank you, Shengsheng Zhou.*
*Has it ever occurred to you that Our dream might have been to become the “God of War,” not his damned “daughter,” sold into a brothel to await a hundred thousand retired warriors storming in to boost her sales?!*
He had heard there was an occupation among the common people devoted to picking through human feces for medicinal material.
Shengsheng was perfectly suited to it.
“Achoo!!” Shengsheng rubbed her nose.
Cui’er walked over in concern. “Princess?”
Shengsheng waved a hand. *A-Pang, Crown Prince Brother should be slaughtering his way through the storybook world right now, shouldn’t he?*
A-Pang nodded. *Yes. He must be very happy.*
Shengsheng was already imagining Weiqing returning in high spirits, patting her shoulder with a gratified expression, and announcing that he would reward her handsomely.
At the same time, the carriage finally arrived at Crimson Delight House.
The madam ordered someone to untie the beauty before her.
Every last trace of Weiqing’s gentle refinement had shattered. As he stood there expressionlessly, the madam stepped closer and looked him over.
“Mm. The face is attractive enough, but the chest is far too flat, and there’s no flesh on the backside.”
“Still, some customers nowadays like the loli type.”
The veins on the forehead of the six-foot-two “loli” Weiqing throbbed.
Where had the word *loli* even come from?
Perhaps this world simply had not been fully constructed. After speaking their few scripted lines, the background characters locked Weiqing alone in a room and delivered three meals on time every day.
Weiqing glanced at the tightly shut window, deep in thought.
Was he supposed to remain imprisoned here until his God of War father returned?
