Chapter 121
Chapter 121
*A-Ban, how am I only now discovering that I’m directionally challenged?!*
“From a thousand mountains, the birds have flown; on ten thousand paths, no human trace remains.” That probably described her current surroundings.
Where the hell was she???
A-Pang could no longer summon the will to correct her. This was the third time she had called him the wrong name since earlier.
*Do you need to make an exchange?* he kindly asked.
Shengsheng Zhou refused in the sternest terms. She now understood how important the timing of an exchange was. What if she spent it on directions now, only to encounter danger later?
Could she keep pretending to be blind?
It was not as though she would always encounter the sort of danger where someone wanted to kill her merely for seeing him.
“Ah~~~~~!”
The sudden, high-pitched cry of a woman made Shengsheng shudder.
What the hell?
She turned her head and stared incredulously to the side–
Straight into a pair of misty eyes brimming with intense lust.
And at the black bear pinning down the woman’s snow-white, naked body.
An actual bear.
An animal. A wild beast. Not a figure of speech.
Shengsheng: “…”
What in the world had she done wrong to deserve seeing such an eye-searing scene?!
*My eyes! Someone save my eyes!*
*Damn it, if I’d known, I would have gone truly blind!!*
While she ranted, the black bear, furious at having its fun interrupted, opened its enormous jaws and lunged at her!
Shengsheng turned and ran!
Motherfucker! Just how cursed was sheeeeeeeee?!
A-Pang asked with a cold laugh, *Shengsheng, want to make an exchange?*
She might have been fine if he had not asked. But the moment he did, Shengsheng’s contrary streak surged up, and she answered stubbornly, “No!”
The black bear was fast. When Shengsheng looked back, she saw a gaping, blood-filled maw.
“Big brother, I didn’t mean to interrupt your fun! Go back and carry on! Why are you chasing me?!”
She was practically in tears. How was any of this remotely reasonable?
Who could have imagined that getting lost would make her stumble upon an interspecies romance that society could never accept?!
Just as Shengsheng finally decided to swallow her pride and ask A-Pang for an exchange, she suddenly felt a huge quantity of liquid spray out and splatter her entire back.
We have emphasized more than once that _____ is part of Shengsheng Zhou’s nature, have we not?
And so, even in the midst of danger, she boldly reached up and wiped the back of her head.
Looking at the dark red liquid on her hand, Shengsheng turned around.
The enormous bear had crashed to the ground, blood still spraying from its body.
And the person who had killed it–
Stood eighteen meters away with a face full of disgust, the hem of his red robe fluttering in the wind.
Do not ask how she could see the disgust on his face from eighteen meters away. Her toes had told her.
Covered in stinking blood, Shengsheng trotted toward him. “Your Highness!”
Fusheng Duan had originally meant to retreat a few steps. But when his sharp eyes caught sight of the mark on her neck, now smeared with the black bear’s blood, he frowned and stepped forward instead.
Shengsheng knew he was obsessed with cleanliness and had intended to step back herself. Instead, he seized her arm. His cool fingers touched the wound she had already forgotten, bringing an itchy pain.
Shengsheng shifted uncomfortably. With dark, unfathomable eyes and a blank expression, Fusheng asked, “Who did this?”
Shengsheng answered with extraordinary smoothness. “A barbarian did it–the City Lord Jierge. I met him along the road. There were probably dozens of them, all masked and on horseback. I don’t know why they came inside, Your Highness. Has something happened to Dazhang City?”
Shengsheng spoke at tremendous speed, not forgetting to emphasize Dazhang City. She looked entirely concerned with the greater situation, as if she were not lodging a complaint at all.
Fusheng Duan’s lips curved faintly. Paired with his lushly beautiful face, it should have been a dazzling smile, yet for no apparent reason, it sent a chill through Shengsheng Zhou.
“I understand,” he said.
Without another word, he was about to take Shengsheng back when a seductive female voice suddenly called from nearby, “Wait~”
Shengsheng poked her head out from in front of Fusheng and stared in shock.
*The woman who was playing poker with the bear just now?!*
At some point, she had put on clothes. With a willowy waist and a hibiscus-like face, she combined sensuality with innocence in an extraordinarily eye-catching appearance.
Yet the woman never looked at Shengsheng. Her eyes remained fixed on Fusheng, the emotion within them blatantly obvious.
Fusheng merely glanced at her before looking away. Lowering his eyes to Shengsheng, he asked, “Aren’t you leaving?”
Shengsheng could naturally tell that this bear’s woman was interested in Fusheng. But she was desperately curious why the woman had been playing poker with a bear.
Fusheng was even more curious than she was.
What did “playing poker with a bear” mean? And what was “the bear’s woman”?
Was she saying this woman was allied with the bear?
At that thought, he narrowed his eyes and turned a lazy, faintly hostile gaze toward the woman.
Naturally, he knew what the emotion in her eyes meant.
It was only another person indulging in hopeless fantasies about him. What was so unusual about that?
Seeing that Fusheng had finally deigned to look at her, the bear’s woman suggestively licked her red lips and said, “My lord, would you like to [bleep] my [bleep]?”
???
Shengsheng’s mouth fell open unconsciously. Fusheng’s mind went blank for an instant, while A-Pang, who had never heard anything so explicit and brazen, shut down completely.
The two people and one panda stood frozen on the spot as though struck by a mass petrification spell.
Seeing no reaction from him, the woman frowned in confusion, tore away the already scant clothing that barely covered her, and walked toward Fusheng.
This time, it was not only Shengsheng’s mouth. Her eyes widened into circles as well.
Just as the woman was about to reach Fusheng, a cool hand carrying a familiar fragrance suddenly covered Shengsheng’s eyes completely.
Her sight was taken away, but her hearing became sharper.
She clearly heard flesh being pierced and smelled the heavy scent of blood.
Only then did she suddenly remember something she had overlooked for a long time.
Fusheng was the villain–a cold-blooded, merciless villain who killed countless people in the original novel.
She pursed her lips. Then his hand moved away from her eyes. Before she could adjust to the light, he pressed her head into his embrace, and rushing wind swept past her ears.
By the time she reacted, the two of them were no longer in their original location.
Shengsheng raised her head and could see only his smooth chin.
As though sensing her gaze, Fusheng’s distinctive drawl reached her through the wind. “I killed her.”
Shengsheng nodded to show she had realized that.
“Are you afraid?” He spoke the words so softly that she might have missed them had she not been holding her breath and listening closely.
At some point, his deep black eyes had settled upon her. They were dark and stagnant, like dead water in a deep pool, their stillness carrying a hint of danger.
Shengsheng blinked as though she had only just recovered her voice.
“Yes,” she answered.
A soft laugh escaped the man’s lips, and that terrifying gaze abruptly returned to its former languid, unrestrained state.
“Good girl,” he praised.
