Chapter 11

Shengsheng Zhou’s head snapped up.

The disbelief and shock in her eyes delighted Siran Ming as he looked down at her.

Then her familiar voice rang through his mind.

*What the hell? Jingzhou wasn’t enough to make Fusheng Duan give me away. What did you offer, half the Yong Kingdom?*

*A-Pang, I’ve finally made something of myself. I’m officially a beauty who can topple kingdoms!*

Siran could not imagine where the woman found such confidence.

What about him gave her the impression that he was blind?

The thought made him want to tease her.

Malice shone openly in his eyes as his lips curved.

“Guess what I traded your ‘former’ master for you.”

Shengsheng blinked at him with perfect honesty while mentally reviewing which region of the Yong Kingdom had the richest soil.

When she actually began considering the question, Siran’s smile deepened.

“Three words.”

She looked blank, so he repeated himself and added an explanation.

“I traded three words for you. Not a single coin, soldier, or blade was lost.”

Siran prepared to savor her grief and despair.

One second after he finished speaking, Shengsheng spun around and marched into the room.

From outside, Siran clearly heard wails like a pig being slaughtered.

“Your Highness! Why don’t you want this servant anymore? What did I do wrong? I have served you respectfully and faithfully for so many years! How could you give me to that old emperor? Your Highness!”

A vein throbbed on Siran’s forehead.

Behind him, Rong Li visibly fought back a laugh.

Compared with Shengsheng, who looked sixteen or seventeen, the twenty-six-year-old Siran was indeed nearly a full zodiac cycle older.

Calling him old was not entirely unreasonable.

Shengsheng refused to show that expression in front of that bastard Siran, so she had held everything in until she reached Fusheng. Only then did she unleash the howling.

*Damn my irresistible pride. I am simply too strong for my own good.*

Fusheng pressed his fingers to his brow. His head felt ready to split.

A-Pang had been sleeping on Shengsheng’s head. Her earth-shaking cries startled them awake.

Once they understood why she was crying, A-Pang hesitantly said, [Isn’t this a good thing, Host? The heroine is going back to the Yong Kingdom with Siran Ming. You can follow her and keep the plot stable. If you can’t enter the Yong Kingdom and continue into the next part of the story, the mission will fail.]

A-Pang’s voice sounded clearly inside both Shengsheng’s and Fusheng’s minds.

Fusheng watched the woman who had seemed one breath from death suddenly scramble upright on all fours. She wiped away her tears and snot in one swipe.

“Shengsheng–no, Tail–thanks Your Highness for all these years of guidance. Once in the Yong Kingdom, Tail promises to take very ‘good’ care of their precious Your Majesty and never disgrace you.”

“If there is nothing else, Tail will withdraw. Should the opportunity arise, Tail will serve Your Highness again in the future.”

She turned and strode toward the door with the heartless confidence of a scoundrel abandoning a lover the instant the deed was done.

Fusheng’s eyelid twitched.

“Stop.”

Shengsheng stopped and looked back in genuine confusion.

“Does Your Highness have any further orders?”

At the same time, she began discussing Yong Kingdom delicacies with A-Pang and wondering whether every man there truly had eight-pack abs and long legs.

Fusheng smiled without warmth.

“I did not give you to him. I loaned you for six months.”

Six months from now, she could say goodbye to those eight packs and long legs and come crawling back.
Shengsheng Zhou fell silent.

Disappointment arrived so suddenly that she forgot to act and sighed directly in front of Fusheng Duan.

Realizing what she had done, she hastily corrected herself.

“That is wonderful!”

She pinched herself under cover of her sleeve and squeezed out a few grateful crocodile tears.

Fusheng stared at her.

He suddenly found himself looking forward to Siran Ming’s life with this two-faced palace maid–night and day, wanting to kill her yet forced to endure because of their agreement.

Losing the second clue almost seemed worthwhile.

By the time Shengsheng emerged, Siran was gone. Only a soldier from the Yong Kingdom remained. He signaled for her to follow and informed her that they would depart the Zhu Kingdom first thing tomorrow morning.

She should return to her room and pack immediately.

Shengsheng was startled.

So soon?

As she hurried back, a girl’s cry rang nearby.

“Put me down! Let me go, you pervert! I will never return with you! I would rather die!”

A man’s low, oppressive voice answered, “Then choose. Die, or come with me.”

Zhiyu Jiang’s spineless reply followed with no great surprise.

“On second thought, the Yong Kingdom sounds rather nice. I’ll treat it as a trip.”

Shengsheng had no words.

At the approaching footsteps, Siran’s sharp gaze swept over.

Shengsheng, however, exchanged a look with Zhiyu, who was slung over his shoulder.

When he noticed that Shengsheng was not looking at him, Siran frowned in displeasure.

When he had changed clothes, the woman’s gaze on his body had practically burned.

Now that he was dressed, she no longer recognized him?

He was about to order her over when a growl sounded deep in his abdomen.

Only Siran heard the tiny noise, yet for one instant, the young emperor’s expression cracked.

Shengsheng caught it.

A-Pang’s medicine was taking effect.

She gave Zhiyu a sudden look.

Zhiyu understood instantly.

Neither woman knew when they had developed such miraculous rapport, but the message passed all the same.

“This position is so uncomfortable,” Zhiyu complained.

Then she wrapped both arms tightly around Siran’s neck and locked her legs around his waist.

He tried to throw her off.

His stomach growled again.

Something strained violently against its confinement. Siran’s face turned green.

“Pull her off me,” he ordered the nearby servants through gritted teeth.

As they reached for Zhiyu, Shengsheng hurried forward.

“Your Majesty, this servant is new and does not know how to attend you. Whom should I ask about Your Majesty’s preferences? What do you dislike? What time do you–”

The flood of questions drove Siran toward madness.

*Ha! Hold it until you burst. Or don’t hold it. Let it go right in your trousers! Be good, Baby Ran. There’s nothing embarrassing about it.*

Shengsheng’s unrestrained laughter circled endlessly through his mind.

The words *Baby Ran* nearly drove him to twist off her head. Only his agreement with Fusheng stopped him.

That damned woman had drugged him!
