Chapter 18
“Aaaaaah-!”
Yingjun screamed as she frantically kicked Luo Gui in the face.
But Luo Gui refused to let go no matter what.
“Luo Gui, you even killed your own brother. How do you still have the face to keep living?” I shouted at him.
Luo Gui only grinned at me. “I want all of you to die with me!”
Feng Yingjun couldn’t shake Luo Gui off, nor could she climb back up. Seeing the black smoke rising higher and higher, she lifted her head and called to me, “Big Brother, remember to send Lili home. Her mother is waiting for her.”
“Feng Yingjun!”
When I saw Feng Yingjun take out a silver needle, I knew what she was about to do. I roared, “You still owe me a life, damn it! I won’t allow you to die!”
Feng Yingjun froze. It was then that I noticed her blood running down her arm and dripping onto Luo Gui’s face.
Beside Luo Gui’s face, a blood-red figure slowly emerged-thick brows, large eyes, lips as thin as paper.
He was lying on Luo Gui’s back, his originally faint soul growing more and more solid by the second.
I turned to that ferocious ghostly face. “Luo Gui, do you believe that good and evil are repaid in the end? It isn’t that judgment never comes. It just hasn’t come yet.”
Luo Gui was about to laugh again, but in the next instant, his body went rigid.
Xiao Xing had bound Luo Gui’s limbs. A freezing aura sealed Luo Gui’s arms in ice.
He could no longer hold on to Feng Yingjun.
Screaming, Luo Gui fell into the abyss.
I grabbed Feng Yingjun, brought Lili with us, and escaped the cave at the very last moment!
I sent Feng Yingjun and Ji Lili back to their homes separately.
During the time Ji Lili had been with the Li Family, her contact with home had been restricted.
Although she said she was fine every time she called, Ji Lili’s mother always felt something was wrong with her daughter.
In the end, her seriously ill mother found her way to Feng Yingjun and asked for help.
Feng Yingjun tried all sorts of methods before finally borrowing Luo Hong’s fish transport truck and sneaking into the Li Family estate.
The method Pi Gui used to refine corpses from living people was a Maoshan Forbidden Art known as Living Human Corpse Refining.
The reason Li Lun could become younger was actually only a side effect of the corpse poison.
Pi Gui used fish meat as a medium to delay the corpse poison’s onset.
But refining a truly immortal, indestructible zombie was not that easy.
That was why Pi Gui came up with that vicious method of using living people as fish feed.
Feng Yingjun told me that, in truth, even Li Xiong couldn’t be considered a real zombie. His corpse poison had simply sunk too deep.
The thing buried deep at the bottom of that cave might have been the true zombie.
I later went back to look at the Li Family mansion.
The house had long since been demolished, and the cave entrance had been sealed.
The connection between Feng Yingjun and me involved my younger sister and Feng Yingjun’s mother.
To put it simply, in order to give birth to her, Feng Yingjun’s mother harmed my sister, who was sick at the time.
Although I didn’t want to blame all of that on Feng Yingjun, I also never really wanted to see her.
Someone once slapped my left shoulder and told me he had extinguished the yang fire there.
Many people told me to seek treatment from Feng Yingjun, but I kept putting it off.
This time, however, I still ended up meeting her.
She was a very warmhearted, very kind young woman.
All of a sudden, I felt that seeing her once wasn’t as difficult as I had imagined.
Later, I went to the blind massage shop she ran.
She completely healed the injury in my left shoulder.
She said her blindness had been caused by an accident. Sometimes, she could use certain arts to temporarily restore her sight, but most of the time, she was still blind.
I couldn’t keep calling her “Feng Yingjun, Feng Yingjun” forever, either.
So later, I said, “I’ll just call you little sis.”
She was very happy.
I was pretty happy too.
I never told her what her mother had done to my family, but I think she might have found out.
There was also a little girl in their family. Every time I went to her shop, that little girl would hide behind the cabinet and secretly watch me.
I think she was probably afraid of me.
From then on, the Luo Hong brothers disappeared, but no one really cared.
Not long after that, I went to visit Xiao Xing’s grave.
On the tombstone, Xiao Xing was smiling very peacefully.
