“Run!”

Just as the few of us were about to sprint out of the cave, a frantic ringing of bells cut through the air.

A massive figure crashed down in front of us with a boom.

It was Li Xiong.

“Feng Yingjun, as long as I’m here today, none of you are leaving,” Pi Gui said, his voice cold and sinister.

“Damn it.” Feng Yingjun started shaking her bell too, but hers was clearly a different pitch from Pi Gui’s-crisp, but without the same weight.

This time, Li Xiong completely ignored Feng Yingjun’s command and lunged straight at us.

With one casual sweep of his arm, he sent Luo Hong flying.

I was carrying Lili on my back, and Feng Yingjun moved to block in front of me. I saw several red threads shoot out from her sleeve as she tried to bind Li Xiong.

But Li Xiong had already been tall and huge to begin with, and now his body seemed forged from bronze and iron. How could a few threads possibly hold him?

The red threads snapped, and Feng Yingjun was flung away as well.

Pi Gui let out a cold laugh. “Feng Yingjun, even if your whole body is full of yin energy, how can you compare to a zombie that feeds on yin energy and draws its strength from resentment? Today, this Corpse Nurturing Cave is your perfect counter and your burial-”

Before Pi Gui could finish, Li Xiong’s claws, which had been reaching for Feng Yingjun, were seized!

At the critical moment, I had put Lili down and caught Li Xiong by the arms.

But my yang energy was even stronger, my blood and fury surging violently.

Pi Gui froze. “You… Who exactly are you?”

Behind me, Feng Yingjun kept shouting, “Whoa, whoa! Big brother, you’re practically a golden-bodied arhat!”

“This Corpse Nurturing Cave suppressed me so badly that even my ghost eye isn’t working right. I didn’t even notice all that yang fire on you. It’s scary how strong it is.”

Pi Gui shook his bell like a madman, and waves of black smoke rose from Li Xiong’s body.

I fought with all my strength, but unfortunately, my left shoulder kept feeling wrong. Li Xiong’s strength increased by quite a bit, and I was forced to take a step back.

At that moment, Feng Yingjun stumbled to her feet. “Big brother, the fire pathway in your left shoulder is blocked! Let me give you a hand!”

Several silver needles pierced into my shoulder at once. I felt a wisp of cold energy leave my body.
